Travel Ambassadors - Vacation Couple
We recently sent our Travel Ambassadors to the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta. Here is their video...
Hyatt Ziva Vallarta Resort & Spa offers upgraded services and facilities that have been transformed into a luxurious all inclusive resort. Catering to couples, families and friends, all rooms and suites have beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and the picturesque beach.
My wife and I just returned from a 5 day stay (week of 2/14/2017). In short, I'm not sure how our stay at the Hyatt Ziva could have been better. We will be back at our earliest opportunity. Here's a rundown of our stay:Location - The Hyatt Ziva is south of PV, about 30 minutes from the airport. The hotel itself is in a beautiful cove and in effect has its own private beach. Behind the hotel and to the south are jungle covered hills and mountains. The location is gorgeous and the beach is absolutely perfect. The landscaping staff should be commended as the hotel's landscaping is immaculate. The beach is also 100% clean without a speck of trash.Room: We got a swim-up king. If you are on the fence, do the upgrade, but ask for one of the swim up rooms with a view. About 1/3 of the swim up rooms have an obstructed view. You walk out the sliding glass door and right into a semi private pool. There's lounge chairs for each room and you can flag down waiters at a nearby bar to bring you drinks. We spent a lot of time lounging around and swimming outside of the room.Service: The staff is one of the highlights of the hotel. We were treated like royalty. Every last person we worked with was extremely friendly and would go out of their way to help us. We tipped frequently, but I think we would have been treated just as well if we didn't. That being said, the staff really deserves tips so be generous!Food: Our favorite restaurants were Blaze (the steakhouse) and Casa Grande (the Mexican restaurant). Blaze makes a killer Mexican breakfast and has the greatest view ever. A big shout out to Isaura, Humberto, Hector, Joel, Jose Luis and Miguel for taking care of us at Blaze. The buffet and the Italian restaurant were pretty good. We never made it to the Asian restaurant.Drinks: Yeah there's plenty of booze and plenty of places to get it. There's also a fridge in the room with beer. I am not a cocktail connoisseur but what my wife and I had was good. My only feedback would be to add a few beers besides Dos Equis light and amber. We had some Mexican craft beers in PV that were fantastic and it'd be nice if some were available at the hotel, even for an extra charge.
We're still in PV while I write this review. The resort overall is excellent. Atmosphere- The average age is pretty old here. I'd say about 45 or so? Don't expect a party after... 5:00pm. Food- The food has been good. The buffet food is always cold. Always. Which is unfortunate because the flavour is there. The restaurants are all good. Some better than others. (Italian is excellent). Rooms- We're staying in the preferred tower. The view from the balcony is amazing. The tub on the deck gets used almost nightly, and we've really loved Ruban- the bartender in the lobby. He's very friendly and always willing to chat. The view is the best part. We've seen whales and manta rays everyday. Pools- Like other resorts, people put towels out on chairs really early to save them. I only saw one person actually clearing vacant chairs so it's tough to find a spot if you're out past 10:30. I heard one girl say she went out at 1am to save chairs so that gives you an idea how bad it is. If I was to complain about anything it would be the abundance of Americans. Being Canadian you get used to having the run of most of the resorts in Mexico. They seem to follow the Hyatt chain however. They're their usual selves - loud, rude (by our standards) and just plain annoying. If you can get past the giant egos and noise a few of them can create, you'll enjoy this place. It would be even better if it was adults only - but you can't have everything! :) All in all, a great place to spend in Puerto Vallarta. We would definitely come back to this resort.
Nine of us stayed here at the Hyatt Ziva about one week ago. We had club level rooms which were all very nice. The best thing about this hotel is the amazing customer service you get from the staff. Everyone was super helpful. The property was beautiful and the beach was lovely. Unfortunately I am unable to give this place 5 stars as 4 of the 9 of us got very ill on day 4. We ate or drank something at Blaze or the adult pool and we were all bedridden for 36 hours. One of us had to go to the hospital. We lost several hundred dollars in missed excursions not to mention the hospital bill. It definitely put a big damper on the rest of our stay. I dont think I will go back.
We had a wonderful five days. The service, food and room were exceptional! We loved the private beach, the pools and restaurants. Our favorite being Blaze! The ocean views are phenomenal! We will be back.
From the moment you enter this paradise, you know you are special. The staff was marvelous! The beach, the swimming pools, the lounges and restaurants, and the shows - wow! Top notch luxury hotel! A shout out to Jorge, Hector, Nicoli, Miguel, Orlando, Isaura, Humberto, JoseLuis, Joel, and Angel. They made our trip memorable!
