Travel Ambassadors - Vacation Couple
We recently sent our Travel Ambassadors to the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta. Here is their video...
Hyatt Ziva Vallarta Resort & Spa offers upgraded services and facilities that have been transformed into a luxurious all inclusive resort. Catering to couples, families and friends, all rooms and suites have beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and the picturesque beach.
My overall experience was above satisfactory with some items that need to be addressed. One, there are no ice machines at all. When you call the operator they tell it will take 45 minutes to an hour to receive it. Very disappointedTwo, we visited the “Tequila” bar and it was just a vacant, dark, and no atmosphere at all. We were expecting music and monitor showing at least some sports not a grainy picture. Overall, the bar was VERY DISAPPOINTING.Three, many of the staff members that served us either wanted to sell us the wine bottles that were out of the all inclusive, still not understanding why wine is not included. The male staff at the bar would talk in a group and see us waiting but never paid any attention until my wife and mother call for service. There as no one else there waiting. Overall, my disappointment of the property is that it’s a “Hyatt Resort” it felt more like a 3-4 star hotel. The property was maintained BEAUTIFULLY and the pool were kept up well. Will I return, probably not. I do give much appreciation for our bartender/server Virginia, she took excellent care of my family and I.
My family was there for 6 days and was not happy with a few services there. The food were little less than mediocre. I know it was not like anything from a 5 stars hotel, but at least the services could have been better to make up for it. We went to MelaZane for lunch twice and the service was horrible. The first time I went with my 3 months old who was sleeping in the stroller. The hostess seated me, but never gave me a menu and I waited at least 5 mins before asking for one. While I waited, I saw him seated a large crowd and had the menu with him while walking them to their table. The waiter forgot my order. The second time I went there, waiter messed up my order not once, but three times. He had a little notepad with him to write the order down, and was writing on it. I dont know how he got it wrong. I ordered a mango margarita, he brought me a lime marg instead. Then I reordered a mango margarita on the rocks and a mango daiquiri with no alcohol for my son, waiter brought out two frozen mango marg, both w alcohol in it. I took it and didnt say anything. When I ordered my lunch, he asked me how I wanted my steak, told him I'd like medium rare. Turned out the steak was over well done! I took a few bites and left the restaurant. Those two times werent busy, but the food took forever and waiters wondered around, instead of asking guests if they needed anything else or even fill up the water. When I said not busy meaning leas than 6 tables and there were 3-4 waiters. Buffet at Vivaz was okay, food wasnt that great, I felt like they were cooking for the quantity not quality. However, the waiters were better. On the positive sides, we liked the concierge staff. They took note and make sure things get done. For example, I asked to let the gate keeper know I hired a local photog to come in and take pics, and make sure he could get in. They also follow through w setting up a bell boy to our room at the time we requested and made reservation for a taxi to pick us to the airport. Lastly, we really like Artura, beach waiter. Artura always greeted us with a smile and check in on us every 15-20 mins to see if we wanted to order more drinks. And he brought back exactly what we ordered and how we wanted it. One last thing I didnt like about this resort is that they didnt let us know the activities/shows going on. I was expecting a daily/weekly list of events/shows going on at the resort. I dont think I'd recommend this place as a family friendly resort, because there wasnt anything "kids" that were going on, except for activies at the kidz corner aka babysitting place.
This is our 8 th resort traveling Mexico and by far the best yet. We upgraded to the club building and loved it! Great food, alcohol and cleanliness. Beach service was so nice, never really had to go for a drink on your own if you didn't want to. Not one thing we didn't like about this place. Downtown PV was great as well. Always felt safe. We haven't re-visited any of our resorts yet but this one will be revisited from us for sure! Love love loved it!
This is one of the best resort vacations I have had. It is not the grandest, the most luxurious or even the most activities. The resort is just a perfect balance of service, good food, peaceful secluded beach while close enough to the tourist madness of Puerto Vallarta. We opted for the less luxurious older tower, but the rooms were still very good. Floors 5 and higher have better views of the ocean and all have views of the pools and beach. Blaze serves excellent grilled food, the Asian restaurant had something for all palettes and the buffet always has a ceviche bar and something grilling outside. Town is a short drive from the resort and many beach and water activities are located within a 5 min cab ride. What a great arrangement. Go do your thing and come back to the comfort of this excellent resort.
The hotel is beautiful, the staff is super friendly and our room had an awesome view of the beach. The beach is clean and nice, you are secluded, is very private. The food was great and the entertainment at night was also excellent.
