Travel Ambassadors - Vacation Couple
We recently sent our Travel Ambassadors to the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta. Here is their video...
Hyatt Ziva Vallarta Resort & Spa offers upgraded services and facilities that have been transformed into a luxurious all inclusive resort. Catering to couples, families and friends, all rooms and suites have beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and the picturesque beach.
A great 5 day getaway all around. The beach at Hyatt Ziva is very secluded, not to mention beautiful. The staff bent over backwards to acomodate my wife's celiac disease. The even provided her with a pre-printed card in Spanish that explained her food limitations. At the hotel's Blaze restaurant, the chef even came out and talked to my wife about what she could have and how he would prepare it.The hotel is also just a short cab ride from the Malecon, which is a large shopping and restaurant/bar area. The cab ride was only 70 (about 3.50 USD) pesos for 4 riders.I definitely plan on returning there.
Im late in writing this... but here goes. Last year my boyfriend was celebrating his 40th birthday. His gift was the flight, and we stayed in the swim up suites. This was our first all-inclusive resort, and I have to say, we're hooked! They have five restaurants. Don't waste your time at the Asian-inspired restaurant. We loved all of the other options available. The cafe is good, but not Starbucks espresso good. So, I doubled up on the espresso shots. The beach is private. So, only those staying at the resort have access. There is really no reason to leave this place we call heaven. They have locals who sell you beautiful artwork, blankets, dresses, etc. They have family fun activities, and non-stop food. The cocktails are good. If you want them stronger, tell the bartender, and he'll pour more. As much as we enjoyed the pools at the resort, we really enjoyed our private swim up suite best. You can get away from the crowds, and just relax. You can swim as late as you'd like. As long as you're not making a ton of noise. The Mexican restaurant there is good. Hector is our favorite! He is not only kind, but willing to do whatever it takes to make your stay pleasurable. He even gave us deserts for our room. Our last night there, we took a photo with him. After staying here, not having to pay for one additional thing, it was amazing. We were told we didn't have to tip. But seeing how hard the staff work, and how fast/strong they will refil your cocktails, its worth tipping to say thank you. If you're not sure about the swim up suites, you can check out my youtube video. Just search Puerto Vallarta Hyatt Ziva Swim Up Suite. Its posted by CaliGirl Prepper (400+ reviews). I took the video right when we arrived. When I was booking the room, I couldnt find anything on the actual layout, or what the fridge was stocked with. So, we loved it here so much, we're going again in September!
When our group first arrived we were blown away by the location of the hotel with the private beach and amazing views. The staff were very accommodating in getting our group of 11 placed in rooms near each other. The rooms were very nice with great bathrooms and showers. The mini-bar drinks were great, but the snack foods could be a little better. The food from the on-site restaurants overall was delicious. From the breakfast buffet to the dinners at Casa Grande, Blaze, etc. it met all expectations. The amazing men and women on staff at Hyatt Ziva made every day an absolute pleasure. They worked very hard to make sure our stay was a memorable one. Some of our favorites:Alan was our waiter as Casa Grande and what a great guy. He went above and beyond for us and was extremely friendly. The other days we saw him he made efforts to come by and see that our group was taken care of.Alex and Edgar were part of the entertainment staff, and they truly make it their goal to be the most friendly and accommodating. Alex was our guide on the jungle tour, which was very fun, and we saw him nearly every day. We interacted with Edgar nearly every day, and he was also great.Jose Luis was our waiter during the fiesta night, and he was awesome for our group. He along with other staff organized a special celebration for my birthday that night, and I greatly appreciated all of it.Oswaldo was our waiter at Blaze, and like Alan he was just spectacular. Very genuine and kindhearted. It was my first trip to Mexico, and with my experiences in Puerto Vallarta at the Hyatt Ziva I can absolutely say I'll be returning.
Very private beautiful beach, great food, 5 minutes to town. Security very present but discrete. The 24 hour room service was fast and high quality. Extra activities like whale watching and Bar Crawl give day and night fun.
Before I sing the praises of this wonderful resort, I will make one suggestion to the management, which would guarantee our return every winter: Please switch to a satellite provider, such as Star Choice, which offers the full array of US TV stations, including US ESPN. The Spanish version of the latter only shows soccer. Many North Americans, including Canadians like us, are avid US college basketball fans, and this is "high season" for important games. The staff tried to help us at the sports bar, but the right stations were not on the "menu." In all other respects, this is a superb resort, and we have been to many. The staff are extraordinarily attentive and sweet, without being obsequious. The food was excellent, and the drinks were poured generously with top notch liquors. We ate at and loved the Mexican restaurant, the buffet, and Blaze. A special shout-out to those who prepared and served the outstanding poolside Mexican buffet. The ocean and beach are spectacularly beautiful, and the pools are warm, clean, and fun. Everything was well-maintained. While we would like to acknowledge Jorge (Casa Grande), Jose Luis (Blaze and Vivaz), Edgar (pool volleyball), Victoria (who made our rooms spotless daily), and the Playa bar waiter, we know that doing so means we are ignoring all of the other staff members, every single one of whom made our time there so special. Oh, one more suggestion: Please consider installing screen doors on the balconies/patios. You would save a lot of money in electricity bills, and we could fully enjoy the sounds of the ocean waves.
