Our Opinion

The Now Amber is a new resort located close to the Malcon in Puerto Vallarta. The rooms are hightlight of this resort, modern, clean and with room service included as an all-inclusive feature! An upgrade to a swim-out suite is well worth the cost. A good choice for a higher-end family option in Puerto Vallarta.

Perfectly situated within close proximity to the historic sights and sounds of downtown Puerto Vallarta, Now Amber welcomes couples, singles, friends and families with all the privileges of Unlimited-Luxury. Each suite, finely-equipped with quality amenities and contemporary decor will showcase stunning golden sand beaches and picturesque bay views. Select suites offer direct swim-out access to a crystalline, private pool.

Location: 15 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from downtown Puerto Vallarta and romantic zone of Old Town and Cuale River walking shore.

  • Great room, especially the swim-out suites.
  • Friendly service, especially the staff in the buffet.
  • Room service included as an all-inclusive feature.
  • Close to the airport for short transfer times.

All I can say is WOW

Just returned. This was my first trip to Now Amber and stayed in the preferred side. I want to say I had nothing but a great time. If I was to complain about anything it would be the time that they finally did the cleaning of the room. It was never consistent and done very late at times. But Maria was great when it did get done. (Also my last night I had to put up with screaming kids at 11:00 at night but it was their first night I'm sure they were excited.)Now for my two favorite people that made my stay phenomenal. A big thank you to my two favorite men that made sure I had an unforgettable time, Mario and Paco. You two are awesome at what you do. No matter what area we were in they always made sure we were good. Bringing food, beverages towels, and even a special drink made just for me. I got to see one of the shows that was spectacular. The Rock show was unreal. The band was phenomenal with all the acrobatics and juggling to music I loved it.Would love to go again. Make that can't wait to go again

Family trip to Puerto Vallarta

We enjoyed our one week stay at the Now Amber. We went with our 9 year old and 20 month old daughter and we all had a great time. A kids club was offered for our 9 year old but it really caters to children between 3 - 6 years old. She had more fun in the pools where they had a foam and balloon party and they did crafts, like beading. Roger, the entertainment manager was great and always checked in with us to make sure we were having a good time.Pools were warm however we felt on occasion that the closest pool to the beach by the bar had quite a bit of debris and could have been cleaned a bit better on a daily basis. We found the service pool side was disappointing. The resort was quite busy and it seemed as though they needed more waiters to take drink orders. Also, I asked one of the waiters to order me a cheese quesadilla, which the person next to me ordered from another waiter and he told me I should go get it myself from the cafe. I found it to be quite rude. Food overall was good. The buffet had a good selection and we didn't feel tired of the food. Our room was clean. Most rooms will have stunning ocean views. Sunsets were amazing! The only complaint I had was that the lighting in the bathroom was not great. It was hard to put makeup on or shave as there was so many shadows it was hard to see.We had young kids so did not make it to the entertainment at night. Just a warning, if you want to go to bed before 10 pm, there will be noise from this entertainment until this time as the hotel rooms are situated by this entertainment. We liked that the hotel was close to the Malecon and could take a 5 min taxi here to go for a nice walk along the boardwalk. Overall, we would come back to the hotel. My favourite part of the hotel was the lobby. It was beautiful and had stunning views both day and night.

excellent resort and people

This was our first time at NOW AMBER. After many times coming to P. Vallarta, this was our best experience with all inclusive bookings. We will be back!Location and view is top, rooms are clean, services and entertainment are great; therewas nothing to complain. We mostly visited the Carnival buffet, also sometime the Coco coffee, everywhere great staff. To mention just a few: Carmen, Fermin, Puc, Fernando, Manuel, Rodolfo. The list of good staff would be long to mention everyone. Thanks to everyone. We felt very comfortable.

Second time is a disappointment

We are staying here now after an excellent stay in Feb 2016 after which I have a glowing review. On arrival this time e we were given a room on 10 floor, 2051. The room smelt a little musty and we only had 6 hangers but we knew the mustiness would go and we soon got extra hangers. A good dinner at the Italian and we went to bed happy and looking forward to our next day. From that point things went downhill. Next day a large decking area was closed off all day for an event that didn't take place until the next evening. This left the rest of the sunbathing area crowded as the hotel was full. Next day same thing so we went over to the Secrets side. However my husband has little walking ability and the walking back and forth for meals was difficult. We spoke to one of the managers, Luis, about this and he listened and upgraded our keycards so we could use the secrets buffet. He also said he would look into moving us to secrets (they have a designated area for events) and would get back to us. He never did.The events were still taking place but we were shocked on Valentine's when 3 of the restaurants were closed to accommodate guests who had paid extra for a special dinner. The rest of us paying guests were left to queue for the remaining restaurants. We stayed at Now Sapphire on valentine's and nothing like this happened. You didn't have to pay extra to feel valued. We also stayed at dreams palm beach when the manager put on a new year's party in February and didn't charge anyone a cent. This time I emailed the generic address. We got a call from Victor and went to see him. We repeated the issue with the deck closing and said he understood about us and other guests feeling undervalued on valentine's. He said he would get back to us but never did. To our surprise we were chatting to an American couple who complained about the attempt to upsell to them on checkin and they were offered a room upgrade for the rest of their 13 days.Yes, the food has been good and the serving staff wonderful, particularly PUC and Carmen in Carnival. However we will leave here feeling undervalued as guests. We strongly feel the management are letting down their wonderful staff.Sorry Caesar but there is no need to reply, it is too late.
