The Now Amber is a new resort located close to the Malcon in Puerto Vallarta. The rooms are hightlight of this resort, modern, clean and with room service included as an all-inclusive feature! An upgrade to a swim-out suite is well worth the cost. A good choice for a higher-end family option in Puerto Vallarta.
Perfectly situated within close proximity to the historic sights and sounds of downtown Puerto Vallarta, Now Amber welcomes couples, singles, friends and families with all the privileges of Unlimited-Luxury. Each suite, finely-equipped with quality amenities and contemporary decor will showcase stunning golden sand beaches and picturesque bay views. Select suites offer direct swim-out access to a crystalline, private pool.
Location: 15 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from downtown Puerto Vallarta and romantic zone of Old Town and Cuale River walking shore.
- Great room, especially the swim-out suites.
- Friendly service, especially the staff in the buffet.
- Room service included as an all-inclusive feature.
- Close to the airport for short transfer times.
Gerardo that works in carnival buffet restaurant was nothing but amazing. He is extremely accommodating and friendly and worked hard to go the extra mile. He put a show on for us when we asked for a cappuccino and his service was so excellent I had to write a great review. Make sure you go to visit him if you ever stop by the amber now resort in puerto Vallarta :)
Gerardo was an absolutely amazing man. Entertaining and extremely helpful. Definitely would recommend him helping anyone I know. He even offered to prepare us a special coffee. The first person to offer it and it was a fantastic show. Thank you again for your hospitality!!!!
Can only say great things about Now Amber, Excellent and Attentive Staff, Excellent food and Beverages, great Activities Team, and Excellent Pool Areas. Beach has limited sandy areas, but lots to do with Resort activities and activities to pay for. Would go there again, and plan on trying more Resorts affiliated with Now Amber.
I wanted to sit on this review for awhile because I was so impressed with the resort overall. Very few places I've stayed at I would consider "5 Stars", but after thinking about this for a month I don't have any other way to describe it. We went with family on this trip so staying at a "kid friendly" resort was a must. I'm definitely glad that we picked NOW Amber. The pool area, while not huge, was very adequate. The kids had their own pool, with a slide. There was another pool off to the side, more near the hotel area that adults would hang around. And the other pool was a larger one with a swim up bar. The only suggestion for the swim up bar would be to get some sort of small canopy to provide some shade, but if you go to the southeast corner of the bar near the rock, there is almost always some shade there. There isn't a bad restaurant in the resort. The Japanese Steak House was probably my favorite, but the Italian restaurant was a close second. On the main floor there is a coffee shop that has, quite possibly, the hottest coffee ever. They also have small snacks in the coffee shop that hit the spot in the evening. The lobby portion of the resort offers one of the best views that I've seen in a resort. It's 100% open air and overlooks the ocean. You can sit there for hours and relax and enjoy the view, and there is a bar approx. 50 foot behind you. We ended up going during the basketball tournament and even though it was vacation, we still wanted to watch Michigan State and Troy University play. They turned the night club downstairs (Desires) into a sports bar. This was one of the nicest touches that I've seen at a resort because they didn't do it half-way. They went ALL OUT to make sure that you enjoyed it. A couple times we walked in and were the only people there (9 a.m. games) but everything was still laid out and perfectly placed. They had a large screen television and would tune it to any game you wanted. We didn't spend a ton of time down there (5 or 6 games worth) but we had a blast every time we did. Fresh sandwiches, ice cold Corona, chips and salsa, etc. were there every time we showed up. We also had the pleasure of meeting the General Manager, Alex, who turned out to be an Illinois grad! I've stayed at a ton of resorts and to meet the gentleman who runs it and to have him be so nice and welcoming is extremely rare. Simply because of him, we are going to go to another NOW or Secrets for our next trip, and will likely go back to that resort in the future as well. The pool area was where we spent most of our time during the early day. One waiter in particular stood out named David. He didn't wait for us to ask for a drink, he simply brought us another when we saw us getting low. He also mixed in a water every now and then without asking as well, which helped as well. Every day we were there, he always had a smile on his face and acted happy to see us.This is one of the few places that I've stayed that I would recommend the Preferred Club. Normally there isn't much of a difference in someone's upgraded package other than a separate check in, but NOW Amber's was definitely an upgrade. Aside from the concierge service, they offer another bar on the second floor. This bar serves just about everything, including Bud Light. Even though the bar was nice, the person that made it a great experience was Brenda. She took such great care of our group when we were there, whether it was grabbing a drink while waiting for the group or wandering back to our rooms at the end of the night and stopping by for "one more drink", she was always top-notch. She is such a people person that I can see her as a manager/supervisor in the future, so hopefully Alex holds onto her. The beach area was very nice, but the only bad thing was once you went out approx. 15 foot into the water, it started to get a bit rocky. Not a huge deal for some people and there's nothing the resort can do about it, but I thought I'd mention it. You may want to bring water shoes if you spend a lot of time in the ocean.I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but it would only be positive. I had zero to complain about on this vacation. I think the combination of a beautiful resort and awesome people made this trip worth it.
We have stayed at this resort before but preferred their "sister" resort Dreams Puerto Vallarta due to the secluded location and better beach. However, since Hyatt Ziva took over that Dreams, we came back!! The entire resort is beautiful and well maintained! The lobby area is very impressive with a great view of Banderas Bay! We enjoyed the food at all restaurants, especially fish! Drinks were tasty although we missed the Don Julio they served in the past. Coco Cafe was great to get a late night specialty coffee. We had a spacious swim-out room, that was truly a treat!! The evening entertainment was awesome!!! A very talented group performed a Beatles Show, Water Light Show and a Rock Show, complete with live music and acrobats! Afterwards, we appreciated the live music in the lobby bars (both Now and Secrets). The Cinco de Mayo Party was fun and equally entertaining! We'd like to acknowledge several employees; Marco and Jose Luis at the front desk were very accommodating. Pug at Carnival provided prompt service. Alberto, Juan (the happy waiter) and "Super Mario" were excellent waiters around the pool. Super Mario knew our drink of choice and would bring them as soon as he saw us arrive at the pool, along with a bottle of water. He even prepared our drinks when there was a shortage of bartenders one day! Alberto also served us at our swim-out room. We felt so pampered!! We ate lunch at Castaways where Quintana, Carlos and Daniel were helpful in choosing entrees and provided great service. Juan was outstanding at Capers, along with his co-workers. It was nice to see him, as we knew him from Dreams along with Hector at Himitsu and Zumela at Tamarindo!! Dinner at Tamarindo was exceptional because of the delicious food, friendly service from Hector and Miguel, mexican coffee "show" from Hector and the best margaritas made by Jose Maria (not sure if we got his name correct). Jose created phenomenal margaritas such as rice, and 2 others made from berries. We've never tasted margaritas that refreshing and delicious!! Adreana greeted us at the lobby bar, as she remembered us from Dreams, along with Gabriela. They are efficient and friendly! In closing, it was a beautiful week - food, drink, people, weather - PARADISE!!!
