Great service. Family friendly. Light went out a whole day which mean no A/C, no WiFi, no TV, no electricity, no light. I happened to manage and by the evening lights came back on. Happy guest overall.
This is not my kind of place. The rooms are small, but I expected that and that’s not an issue. The rooms were clean so that is a plus. But what I didn’t expect was the air conditioner hardly working or the staff and waiters being unfriendly. I won’t say they were rude, but we received a mostly indifferent attitude and I almost always had to hunt down someone for service and we are not old biddies that demand special attention. We typically just go with the flow. The other thing I didn’t like was the amount of kids at the resort and in the pool. There were so many that we never even gave the idea of going in the pool a second thought. If you are traveling with kids, then maybe this is a great place for you, but for us, the noise and rudeness was a bit much. The buffet food was typical, run of the mill buffet food. Pretty average overall. The hotel itself was probably about 2/3 locals and 1/3 foreigners (Americans and Canadians). I don’t know if that had anything to do with it as we’ve stay at other places with a similar mix and loved it. This was somehow very different and we definitely felt like outcasts. The first time that has ever happened in our numerous travels. They have stage shows on some of the nights and there was one on Saturday of our stay. We enjoyed that very much. To be fair, we were only there for the weekend, but based on that experience we wouldn’t go back.
The daily buffet at Mi Pueblito at the Los Arcos Hotel, whether it be for lunch or dinner, is consistently superior as are the servers who are constantly at your beck and call catering to your every need. Supervisor Capitan Mawry's thoughtfulness and consideration in his successful efforts to make sure that everyone's meal is memorable is why he is now being considered to become the manager of this great restaurant. We have known Capitan Mawry for many years and have personally witnessed his superior efforts in maintaining the highest levels of service. In our opinion, as well as countless of satisfied customers throughout the years, there could not be a better manager of this restaurant than Capitan Mawry. We sincerely hope he will be awarded this position as he so richly deserves. Good Luck Mawry, no one deserves this more than you. Joeseph & Estelle Turra
We have been coming ti Los Arcos for the last five years. Great hotel, very clean rooms, fabulous staff. It is on the beach with three pools, restaurant and close to all activities in old Vallarta. We took a day and rented a van and went to Sayulita. Our driver Eluid Valdovinos Bello is the best, he works for the hotel and drove eleven of us on his day off. We had a great time. When coming to Los Arcos be sure and introduce your self to Eliud. He will take very good care of you.
Our first room faced the pool with loud salsa music playing over a poolside stereo was enough to wake the dead as our room was facing the pool. The sliding glass doors that kept falling off their track weren't well insulated or soundproof. The shower had little to no water pressure at times and we didn't get hot water for 2 days we were in that room. They gladly changed rooms for us to the outside facing the Malecon and the beach which was much better. The room offers no morning coffee, ice, or even a microwave oven. Unless your all inclusive, you have to pay for coffee at the buffet and forget ice...you have to beg for ice and you can tell they're upset when you ask. We ate many meals there even though the buffet was just okay...it was convenient if you didn't know your way around. The staff, housekeeping were very friendly, but front desk staff though trying to be friendly were very impersonal. The concierge was sweet. The hotel is very dated and old and they could hire a decorator to do a great job updating the rooms for very little, as it seems they hired someone with little to no sense of taste to really make their beautifully hand crafted and over the top beautiful furniture look very tacky and cheap. You could do an awful lot for very little to update these rooms. I'm a decorator and was very saddened to see such an icon I'm sure in PV look cheap. Would stay here again, but not pay the prices we paid as it was part of a package deal. The location was perfect and we found so many wonderful restaurants, stores, and galleries close by.
