Plaza Pelicanos Club

- All Inclusive Features
The Plaza Pelicanos has a true Mexican feel to it. It's beautiful and recently renovated. The rooms are very simple; be sure to ask for an alarm clock at the front desk! The grounds are well kept. The pool is huge, with a swim-up bar, but the service there isn't so great. The restaurants have excellent service however, and amazing food. This hotel has virtually NO beach. There are no activities either. This hotel is more for R&R, and quiet clients looking for a basic, simple place to stay. The tower at this hotel is all timeshares, so watch out for timeshare reps!
Booked a king room. Were given a double Queen. Was told we could move the next day but it didn't have a view. Very loud hotel. Lots of noise from the halls and thin walls between the rooms. Tons of kids and no control over them. Water guns being sprayed in your face, drinks and food all day and no control over it. They need to have an adult only area in the pool. The 9th floor with dirty hot tubs is supposed to be adults only but there were kids up there too. The front desk staff is not welcoming and makes you feel like you are an annoyance but the rest of the staff is wonderful. I thought the good was acceptable. The buffet fine not amazing. The shrimp burger is awesome but not included in the all inclusive package. Drinks are ok not great. They use cheap alcohol if you have the all inclusive. Tables in the bar restaurant were always dirty even if they weren't being used. Room was clean but dated and nothing special. They want you to hang your towels and not get news ones everyday but there's no hooks to hang them so nothing dries They need to step it up if they want people to come back here. Too many nicer places close and better priced.
First off we had requested a king bed. We check in and was assured it was a king room. Get to the room and it was two beds!! Unacceptable!! Plus their idea of air conditioning is a joke! We immediately called and were told no king beds but they would move us the next day. We then went for lunch. The first scoop of food I put on my plate had an inch and a half worm in it!!! The food here is wretched. Whatever is supposed to be cold is warm and whatever is supposed to be hot is cold. It’s the same food every day. Disgusting. Our only decent meals were in the reservation only restaurant. The buffet.....stay away!! Made me very sick!! I will say the waitstaff are all very very nice. Day two....we change rooms to a lovely room with a king bed, a balcony and a gorgeous view. No sleep that night. Apparently their idea of a king bed was slapping two twin box springs together... no mattress. Plus they didn’t even put them head to toe. They were set up sideways with the springs cutting us in half all night. By morning we were bent over like pretzels!! Back to Miss Nasty at the front desk but this time we asked for the manager!! Julio was very accommodating and moved us again!! Each time we complained, Miss nasty lied and told us they couldn’t do anything but miraculously they would come up with a room!! They should’ve fixed the problem immediately upon check in. I spent two mornings packing our things to move!! Not happy about that at all!!!Also, beware of the beach peddlers. They are obnoxious and intrusive. They will not they you alone!! We did agree to purchase a private tour with MT ADVENTURE TOURS. This dude Mario had us waiting for about an hour and a half in the heat and humidity and he never showed up!!! He also goes by MT SAILING CLUB. Do yourself a favor and stay away from his hotel and the tour guide!! We will NEVER come here again!!!
This was our first time in Puerto Vallarta and it was a great experience. The staff at the hotel ( Mario, Fernando, Victor and many other ls that I can't remember their names) were fantastic, very helpful and polite. The activities were so much fun and the ladies at the spa were fabulous. I'll go back again for another birthday celebration
This was my 24 year old daughter and my first trip to Mexico. We weren't sure what to expect but the resort had positive online reviews. Hands down the best service and staff out of anywhere i have ever stayed. 99% of the staff were so polite, courteous and fun that we found ourselves enjoying their company while they ensured wr had the best trup ever. Never once did we feel at risk and we were brought into the groups of pool volleyball and other activities despite that we were one of the few that didn't speak Spanish. Front desk staff could use a little more pep as they come across rude sometimes. But EVERYONE else....AMAZING. would go back and recommend to everyone heading that way. Special thanks to Febrezio and Estaban
We chose this hotel based off of location and price. For all inclusive and being on a budget this was our best option. We stayed 8 days and 7 nights and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The second we arrived we were greeted promptly with cold towels and drinks and were taken straight to our room. When we got there and saw we were given 2 double beds instead of the king we requested they quickly moved us to a proper room. The food is so so most of the time but for the price, you can't expect much. The omelette station every morning was our go to. The drinks were always strong and the service was impeccable. Never did our glasses become empty before a new one was brought to us. The bar pool, roof top bar and buffet service were all on it. The maids were really good too. We'd always come back to an immaculate room after our days out. The one and only complaint I have is that the vendors walking on the beach are relentless. Doesn't matter if you're hanging out by or in the pool trying to relax, they will continue to harass you to buy their junk. Got real tiring real quick but it's Mexico so it's expected. We loved the staff, the property, the location. Was so easy to exchange our American money for pesos at the front desk and a lot to do that was walking distance. Even did the couples massages for an insanely cheap price. All in all, we through my enjoyed our stay and did my want to leave.
