A $6 million renovation later, Velas Vallarta looks absolutely gorgeous! This family friendly, tropical getaway with magnificent gardens, exquisite pool landscaping and endless activities, all set in a comfortable setting. Close to the Marina Vallarta, the Velas is almost a town unto itself, with its shopping arcade, restaurants, mini-market, deli and boutiques.

Location: On the beach in Marina Vallarta, 15 minute to downtown and, 5 minutes from the airport, minutes from a Joe Finger designed golf course.

Lucky number 7th time at Velas Vallarta

Well, to say we are creatures of habit is an understatement. But if you take vacation once a year, and its the best week or two of your year, why wouldn't you go back? This was our families 7th stay at Velas (me, wife and two tween kids) however this was the first time we stayed for two full weeks. We booked a regal suite and were not disappointed. We stayed in building number 3 and had views of just about everything in PV. Here are some highlights of our trip this year1. The staff. Always what we remember. These people are our friends now. Juventino at the Aqua bar by the pool is the very best. Pool staff work in sections for a week at a time. It doesn't matter what section Juventino is in, that's where we are sitting. Class act, caring, friendly, hard working are a few words that come to mind. Of course the entire Aqua Bar staff is amazing, but Juventino was the reason we came back for our second trip, and the reason we returned for our 7th this year. Additionally, special thank you to Juan in Andreas for caring about every detail. Outstanding at what he does in so many ways. Erik at La Ribera is also at the top of our list. Infectious laugh and again always wanting to do the extra things.2. Location- Velas close location to the airport and Marina are outstanding. City bus stops right out front to get to Malecon, or cabs are plentiful and affordable. We like this place as is far enough away from the PV proper, but not so far away that it takes a long time to get into town.3. Food/Beverage-I've seen reviews that have positive and negative reviews about the food and beverage at Velas. We love it. No complaints. If you don't see anything on the menu that looks good, you should ask to see if they can make what you want. I'm pretty sure they would do it. Room service, poolside, or fine dining this has it all. Two full time options to choose from plus 24 hour room service if you needed it. We did the All Inclusive for one week and European plan for the second week. I think we will lean towards the European plan moving forward as there are so many great place to eat in PV and our kids are old enough now that, venturing off property is a must. The AI is great and full service, but if our feeling is if you are going to do the AI, then use it. 4. Customer Service- I know the staff are at the top of this list, but the people that work here truly care about the satisfaction of the guests. With that being said, be generous for the good work they do. Tip when you receive excellent service. This should be a rule of thumb regardless of where you go.Thank you Velas Vallarta for another outstanding Family Vacation. Glad to hear your beach ship decoration has finally been pulled out into the water. We miss you and can't wait to see you again soon. Book here with Confidence TA Peeps!

Best Family Vacation to Date

Our family of 12, including grandparents, children and grandchildren traveled from Montana to the Velas Vallarta All Inclusive Resort. We ranged in age from 4 to 63. Everyone had a Blast! We loved the rooms, the restaurants, the pools, the swim up bar and the beach. A lot of wonderful memories were made and we would go back in a heart beat!

Mostly Amazing

Check in through check out...outstanding service, regardless of where you were. Everyone of the staff we crossed paths with were welcoming and friendly and extremely helpful. The resort is stunningly beautiful. The food...not so crazy about the "beach front restaurant" but the rest was delightful. We has a "suite" with a lovely view of the beach as well as overlooking the resort itself. Loved the little things...nicer bathroom amenities, turn down service that is turn down service. Snacks in the baskets and a full size fridge stocked with bevvies including milk. A little old and tired and extremely small bathrooms. Housekeeping...not so great. Fabulous included wines. Pools very clean & pretty with lots of chairs and wait staff. So glad we had this experience.

Surprisingly wonderful stay

We went to the Velas with another family and had the most amazing time. The rooms are nice, clean and well-appointed, not super fancy, but perfect for families who need extra space. The food at the restaurants was very good and the nightly entertainment was fun for all. We loved being able to order room service any time of day, including late night snacks and drinks! We all loved the pool and the pool bar. The kids had a blast swimming around and playing with the balls, toys and iguanas (!) at the pool. The parents enjoyed the poolside bar and new friends. The location is also ideal. A quick cab ride gets you downtown. Plus, despite a daily forecast of thunder showers in Puerto Vallarta, we had only about 5 minutes of rain during our 5-night stay. While everything about the property itself is lovely, the amazing staff are what make the experience so wonderful. Everyone is so friendly and goes out of their way to help and make you feel welcome. I don't often return to a destination once I've been there, but I would go to the Velas again in a heartbeat.

Great time with the Family!

A great hotel for the whole family! We traveled with my daughter who was 2 the the time and out son was 8 months old. The staff was very accommodating with our little ones. The gave us extra milk in the mini fridge and provided a pack and play at no charge. The grounds are stunning with birds, fish, and iguanas all over. The food was amazing and every night new great options. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was the nightly shows. We had stayed in some resorts that put on better shows. Over all we all had a great time and our daughters is still talking about swimming with the dinosaur(iguanas).
