Villa del Palmar Flamingos
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
Truly an oasis of peace. Favs include the daily water aerobics, free cocktail class and the spa. Jazmine was outstanding in listening to my needs and working the tension out. Come early or stay after for the Hydra Therapy. The nicest, most accommodating staff who go above and beyond. Already planning our trip next year. All loved the fantastic animals the maid service made daily. We looked forward to seeing what was new when we came in daily.
The facility is quite nice and well maintained. We are owners, but there are many folks here who are not. Our home resort is one of the Villa properties in Cabo San Lucas. The environment here at Flamingos is more relaxed which was awesome! There are activities and nightly shows. We chose the all inclusive package because, having been here before we were not planning to do off-site shopping or excursions - although there are plenty of both. We primarily lounged by the pool, read books and magazines, and enjoyed spa treatments. The spa is great. The on-site restaurant choices are more limited than at the property in Cabo, but still good food. If you participate in the theme nights, a generous and varied buffet is included. So, in that regard, restaurant options may not be of particular interest. The staff is courteous and helpful. However, keep in mind that there are "sharks in the water." I DO NOT MEAN LITERAL SHARKS, but this is a timeshare property. Whether you're an owner or not, they really push to try to get you to attend a "short" owners meeting or an information session (for non owners). These are NOT short and their intent is to get you to buy or upgrade to something better right now. Do not be afraid to walk out when you've met you time obligation - usually 45 minutes or 90 minutes. They will keep you there for hours trying to make a high pressure sale. Let me be clear: we LOVE our time share, but it took being willing to walk away altogether - multiple times - to get the best deal. My thinking is, if you're willing to keep coming back with a lower and final offer, then how do I, as a consumer, know when you're really telling me the truth?! If owning a timeshare is of interest to you, then Villa Group (ResortCom) is a great group to be with. You just have to play hard ball to get the best deal. If you don't have any intention of buying a timeshare; you're just taking advantage of the offer for a great price on a vacation package in exchange for 45 or 90 minutes of your time, then be really good at saying, "No," many times and do not be afraid to say, "I agreed to 'x' minutes. That has passed. I'm leaving. Where do I claim my prize(s)." All in all a GREAT vacation experience. If it's your first time heading here, look for posts on how to navigate the timeshare sales people as you are trying to figure out getting out of the airport without falling prey to the most unscrupulous of time share sales people. It's worth all the hassle - as long as you draw your boundaries and limit the hassle factor. Beautiful vacation choice.
We are owners with the Villa Group and have loved every location we have visited. This location did not disappoint! We had a 2 bedroom on the ground floor near the pool and is was very convenient for the kids to come and go. It is a bit noisy with the pool close, but it really doesn't get very loud at any time of day because this is a smaller resort with primarily families and not a large party going crowd. I can never say enough about the wonderful service you receive whether you are at the pool, beach restaurant or room. Always given with a smile and they go above and beyond your request. I always go to a timeshare presentation, but if you stick to the time limit you can always say your 90 minutes is over and you get up and leave. Of course they will want to push a purchase, but that is their job! The food and drinks are good, but there aren't as many options for restaurants as you might find at a larger resort. Beach and activities are good even for the teenagers and younger children. Since I own here, I can't attest to the price point, but every person we have brought including to this trip has found a great price for these luxury rooms.
It was hard giving this beautiful place 4 out of 5, but I did have some issues that prevented me from giving them a 5 star. We travel the week of 06-11-2017 thru 06-16-2017 to Villa Palmar Flamingos. First all the good, the place is beautiful and always very clean. The pools were amazing and every morning you would see the workers cleaning the pools and lounging chairs and surrounding areas . The grounds are well maintained and groomed. Never did we have the problem of not having chairs available at pool site. The resort staff was very friendly and helpful. Not a day went by where somebody didn't ask you if you needed anything? Or if they could do something for you? Check in and check out was fast and problem free. The people there really go out of their way to make you feel at home. The food and drink service at the pool was one of the best. They really worked hard to bring your food or drinks as soon as they could. Special thanks to Conrado Gomez and Ignacio for always attending to us and are many re-fill request of drinks. They were great! Lizbeth in activities was great trying to get everybody involved. I specially enjoyed her water aerobics. The evening entertainment dinners were great. They had dinner by the pool followed by the salsa show. My favorite was the Beach party. Dinner by the beach with a live band performing while you ate. The food was great! We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was very nice and spacious. Traveling with kids was specially nice to have that extra room. One of the nice perks was having a washing machine and dryer in your own room. The balcony was huge and we had a great view of the pools and partial ocean. All the one or two bedroom have great views, but the higher the room the better ocean view. Now the the reasons where I think they can improve. The resort only really has two restaurants. El Patron which is where the breakfast and lunch buffets are served and the Italian restaurant/pizza bar. The sports bar which is only open from Thursday thru Sunday. To me that is not much of a selection! The mexican restaurant does turn A la Carte for dinner and no reservations are needed. Both restaurant are very good, but it does get old after a couple of days of being there. It does help when they have the dinner buffets with entertainment because its something different. The Wifi is very glitchy and you do have to pay for it. I had to purchase two Wifi plans for 5 days at $45.00 dollars each. The only free Wifi available was in the hospitality center which was kind off out of the way. I have never been at an All Inclusive resort and not had at least water available in the refrigerator in your room. Usually they are stack with drinks, (both non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks) but not here! If you were thirsty and kids are always thirsty, you would have leave your room and either go the the closest bar or restaurant. They did have two bottles of water in the kitchen table but with a purchase label on it. The other thing was that after reviewing my invoice I notice that they charge me for the room keys, which I was not aware of it, that's a first for me! Traveling with kids the resort does not have many activities for them or a playground for kids. Having said all that, my family had a great time! I would go back to the Flamingo and I would recommend it to family and friends. I just hope they could improve some of the things I just mentioned. However some people may not think those things are important, but for me they are. I do have to also mention the nice hospitality room available after you check out and are waiting for transportation. its big with comfortable couches and tv and free Wifi!! They also have bathroom with showers and lockers.
My husband, children, and I went to this resort for vacation. The children loved the experience. The beach is right there! So peaceful to hear the ocean waves. The hydrotherapy at the Tatewari water spa was absolutely awesome: A big shout out to Juanita (receptionist), Jennifer (hydrotherapy assistant), and to Maribel (massage therapist)- simply the BEST spa experience I have ever had! Food was fresh & delicious- they have the BEST breakfast buffet with omelettes prepared just the way you want it...with tons of other food choices. Both restaurants on site were great, but the BEST servers were at El Patron- Javier and Andres- truly attentive and interested in the customers. Finally, I have to mention Miriam Cabanas, the friendliest sales agent for their Villa Preferred Access Program. She is simply a wonderful person. The HUGE downside for me: Internet access there is horrible. You have to pay if you want internet access in the rooms, and even then, I couldn't get a good connection and had to always go to the lobby (it was still spotty there). Even on vacation, I need internet!!Very minor downsides: 1) We had a junior suite with 2 queen beds and a kitchenette that was nice, but the glass door to the shower stall was in a semi-open configuration and water always got everywhere. 2) There was only ONE towel rack, and with the 4 of us and so many large towels, hand towels, washcloths, etc., I didn't know where to re-hang them all.FINALLY: Be prepared to get wrangled into a talk about their VPA membership...it takes up time, so simply say "NO" if you are not interested, and stick to your guns. I spoke to a returning resort participant that I met who said it was the best decision they ever made, but if you just want to enjoy your vacation, it is difficult to avoid the representatives, who are very persuasive and do not back down. If anything, I left uncomfortable...only time will tell whether I made a mistake or not. I don't blame Miriam- only my inability to say "no."
