A 4.5-star resort in Riviera Maya. There are options to stay in either the adult or family side of the resort. There is a buffet and several a la carte restaurants available, which many travelers rave about. Great attentive and friendly staff.
My husband and I are enjoying our last day. We had an excellent vacation at Azul Sensatori. We are members of Exotic Travelers club. We have stayed at several properties and enjoyed them all. This is our second visit to Azul Sensatori. We stayed in the premium section, swim up. The room is great and kept sparkling clean by Guadalupe. The pool and bar service were excellent. Blanca, Nancy, Mariano, Luis, Alberto, Alfredo, and Uriel were all wonderful and attentive to our needs.
We travelled with 2 families, including 5 boys, age 9-13. Azul was perfect for us. Not a crazy party atmosphere, but not over-run with screaming kids either. Nor was it too focused on little kids. It was a great in-between that was perfect for our families. Although I think it would be fine for families with younger kids as well and adults looking for a peaceful getaway. There is an adults-only section (separate pool, bar) that was quiet and relaxing.ROOMS: Our room was immaculately kept and very inviting. The housekeeping staff spent at least an hour cleaning it each day. The beds were comfy and the fridge was stocked with beer, sodas, and water. Each fridge also has one small bag of chips or pretzels. It might have been nice to have more snacks available in the room, but room service is available 24/7 and is included in the all-inclusive package. Each time we ordered, the food was good and was at our door within 30 minutes of ordering. If you are going with family, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going with the CONNECTING LUXURY JACUZZI OCEAN VIEW SUITE if it's within your budget. This provides 2 connecting rooms, each with it's own bath. The shower and toilet doors are semi-transparent, so having a whole family in one room could be a little difficult.FOOD and DRINK. The restaurants were all wonderful. Elegant food in a semi-elegant atmosphere. The dress codes are on the website; for men, a nice pair of shorts and a polo shirt are fine. For lunch, the oceanside restaurant lunch buffet is spectacular. No real dress code, just walk a few steps from your beach chair and enjoy your meal on a picnic table on the beach! Drinks are plentiful. The selection is decent, but not real high-end stuff if you're into that. Nice selection of rum, bombay sapphire gin, crown royal are included, so not too bad. Our kids loved the virgin daiquiris, and pina coladas and the fact that they can sit at the bar and drink them! (which would never be allowed in the States) Overall, we really felt like we got our money's worth.BEACH AND POOLS: These were never over crowded and it was always easy to find chairs. The also have cabana beds which were an amazing place to relax. The sea-bottom is a little rocky, so consider bringing water shoes. There is some seaweed that washes up on the beach, but they work tirelessly to keep it cleaned up and it's no big deal. The pools are pristine and plentiful. Plenty of room to toss around a ball or play a game.ENTERTAINMENT: Lots of activities available during the day: beach and pool volleyball, archery, tennis courts, shuffle board, kayaking. At night, there was usually a laid-back concert on the beach, always with drinks available and sometimes food. Things usually shut down around 11. If you're looking for a robust high-energy nightlife, this is not your place. One minor complaint would be lack of a proper sports bar, since so many travellers like to catch their favorite team on television. The teen center - which I never really saw many teens in - serves as a bit of a de facto sports bar, but there is only one big screen and there is no bar. If you ask, you can get someone to bring you drinks, but there is no dedicated person to do this.KUDOS: Everyone there was extremely friendly, helpful, and inviting. Everyone, including the housecleaners and grounds keepers always greet you with a friendly "hola." Antonio (bartender) was fabulous with our kids, making them all kinds of fun virgin drinks. Alex, an activities coordinator, really added to the fun of the trip, always enthusiastically recruiting people for beach and pool games. He even sat in on a game of cards with us! Jorge runs top-notch fitness program, available to all. My wife raved about it.
We went through our Interval time share and while the property was beautiful, the beach not so much. It was very "grassy" in the water and on the beach. The sheets on the bed were like plastic. Very uncomfortable. Not something I would expect from this kind of place. Food was pretty good along with the service. Also, they were pretty forceful on getting us to go to a timeshare meeting even though we were there on our own timeshare points.
Just had a fantastic two weeks at this wonderful hotel. It's our second time here and won't be our last. This is mainly due to the absolutely wonderful staff at this hotel, they cannot do enough for guests. All throughout our stay we were treated with utmost respect and cheery smiles with an Ola senore! I have never seen such hard working staff keeping this hotel in its immaculate condition. Special mention needs to go to Mariano in the zavas pool bar, an absolute gentleman who kept us entertained and suitably refreshed throughout our stay, always with a smile😄! Rudolfo,Rolando and Eva in spoons restaurant making our meals a pleasure each day. We look forward to our return for another wonderful fortnight. Thank you all!
This was our first trip to Mexico and there were lots of positives. Every member of staff said 'hola' and made us feel so welcome. Restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful - our favourite restaurant was Zavaz with a special mention for Mateo and Andres who looked after us so well. Food is excellent throughout the resort and our meal in Le Chique was an experience although you do have to queue in the mid-day sun to book a table! The bar service around the pools was excellent and quite unexpected. A special mention for Bettyna who really livened up our days with her quirky sense of humour. On the negative side, our first room on the top floor was very noisy from the air conditioning on the roof so we moved to the third floor. Both rooms were in need of a face lift and both had issues that needed addressing during our stay. The most concerning issue was when the whole plug front came off in my hand leaving exposed wires. We did get most issues addressed and the Thomson team were very helpful but the room did not meet our expectations of a Sensatori experience. In spite of this the beds were very comfortable and the room was clean with various towel animals left each day. We preferred the quiet pool area but, on 5 occasions sunbeds were pushed together to allow staff to prepare for evening wedding receptions and 1 day was ruined by a very loud champagne party at the adjoining pool. The main issue we had with these events was there was no communication from managers at the hotel which made us feel like we were not important as guests. Our main message to managers is learn from your bar, restaurant and cleaning staff on how to treat your guests.
