My wife have been coming to BlueDiamond for over 4 years. The accommodations are second to none, the food and drink world class gourmet and the staff are like our family. We have made soMany friends over the years here and we maintain contact with many of them when we are backCalgary. The villas are set adjacent to beautiful fresh water cenote. The cenote (under ground steam) are above ground throughput the area and filled with large fish, turtles and even crocodiles. The crocodiles are well fed so no worries here. We take the time to speak to all the workers as they are our friends and share stories of their work and home life openly. The hotel management team is always adding new entertainment and activities for all the patrons. There are three restaurants on our. The Amber is luxurious and can dine from are a varied menu each day and the specials change daily. Very romantic setting embedded in the lush Mangroves and adjacent the cenote. A beehive of wildlife, birds, small Mammals and yes crocodiles can be viewed from the expansive deck.Sample world glass Tequila along with a length wine list and a huge array of ice filled fruit cocktails and margaritas. My wife have travelled allOver the Caribbean and Central America and the Blue Diamond is our favourite vacation get away. You will not be disappointed.Thank you Blue Diamond staff!
My husband and I cannot say enough about the Blue Diamond. This is our second time visiting the hotel. The people are absolutely amazing. We have made friends with some of the wonderful people who work there. We miss them already. Cesar Ochoa was one of our friends from the first time we were there. As soon as he seen us he knew exactly who we were. That made us feel great. On this trip we actually made so many awesome memories and Friends. Not only with the staff but with the guest. Blue Diamond Resort is immaculate. Absolute beautiful. We have seen each and every room. From the lowest level to the beachfront they are all beautiful. They're all very private and very romantic. Both times my husband and I went there we fell in love all over again. I absolutely recommend this hotel for couples. It reconnects you. It's also great for any adult. I love the low-key atmosphere. And like I said the people are absolutely wonderful. From Lewis our golf cart driver to Richado our bartender to our main man and concier Cesar Ochoa greatest people. Every single person there is super nice and friendly and always acknowledge is you. They went over and above ALWAYS! We can not wait to go back. 💞 Mr. And Mrs. HILL (aka Mr. Dolphin)
First timers in Cancun and chose a private, adults only resort. Great choice if you want to avoid the crowds and just relax...but there are a lot of things we expected more for the price we paid for. We arrived early around lunch time and we were welcomed with truffles and tropical fruit drink. It was refreshing but the plastic glasses they served them with were near cracking. Once our check in was completed, they led us to the Ceviche bar where we had our first meal. The beach was initially a letdown with all the algae accumulated by the shore. Once we were checked in, our "upgraded" room was nice, spacious and had a nice view of the Cenote except that it was warm inside at 25C. We thought it was just the weather since it was in the afternoon but by early morning, we woke up early at 4AM sweating. We called for a technician and said they'll come back in the morning to fix it. It did not get fixed despite numerous calls. At one point, when we could not take it anymore, we were allowed to sleep on the Jr Patio suite which was a downgrade and same thing, the room temp remained at 25C despite the AC set at 15C. The maid service was also inconsistent. They come and clean the room twice a day but the opened Champagne bottle on the first night and later pinacolada glasses are still lying around the room a day later. The spa was great, we got couple's massages but wished we could have enjoyed doing the sauna or hammam together but they were separated to Men's and women's only. The prices of the treatments were expensive. We also got the chance to do the Temazcal, that was an experience! There were other activities in the resort that we were able to avail but you have to book as early as you can as they can get filled up. My wife did yoga which they said was full but there were only 3 people who were there and a lot more empty mats at the hall. We also did wine tasting with Luis who did well but was disappointed with the wine selection. The food at Aguamarina was a hit or miss, loved their breakfast juices; lunch was fine and dinner was so-so. Pedro was very good esp when we were having our lunch before our airport pick-up and he did his best to keep our food coming so that we were able to leave on time. Their saving grace was Ambar, a little formal dinner but could not understand the dress code. They require men wear long pants which can get hot and closed shoes (one guy even had Crocs on!) but ladies can wear short jean shorts? Our waiter Roman and Martin were excellent and they made it special when they let us dine at the center for our anniversary since we were not able to do it by the patio deck due to the thunderstorms. We almost paid P2850 for a romantic dinner by the beach. Since this was an adults only resort, we were surprised that there was no wedding or vow renewal services. They should offer this like how they do in other hotels. There were also good night shows by the Aguamarina on alternate days and we made sure we saw them with their themed dinners. Our bar experience was great. We are lightweights when it comes to alcohol but the bartenders were friendly and accommodating. They even left the bottle of Don Julio for us to finish with just 4 of us on the table. There were only 2 main pools in the resort and wished they's cleaned it regularly... a lot of insects floating most of the time. The algae by the beach was finally cleaned Saturday so we got to enjoy the pristine white sands. We loved lounging by the casitas which you can get if you are there early, there were also scattered hammocks and beds enough for the whole resort. There was free snorkeling which were not able to do since the first day we were scheduled, the tides were rough and the next time, there was no wind and they rely only on a sailed catamaran for you to get to the snorkeling spot. Concierge for the most part were helpful but they seem to mind more if you are one of their special guests. The "butlers" are not even helpful if you are not staying on one of the palafitos. There was this one lady there who would just stare at us like were not there when we were asking something but her face (and eyebrows) lit up once one of the VIP couples came down from the restaurant. There was also one bellboy who did not even want to take a picture of us when asked him to and I'm pretty sure he was the same guy who did not drop us off to the Aguamarina and instead asked us to get off the golf cart and walk instead since he has a couple waiting for him to be checked out of the palafitos.Overall, the resort was great but there are opportunities to improve. Would I go back?... probably NOT!
Thank you Blue Diamond for making our trip so special! Staff was amazing. Attention to detail. Grounds were impeccable. Truly a place where you can get away from it all and just unwind and enjoy Life! Special shout outs to Ricardo, Pedro, and Hermino for such excellent service.
- Great landscaping, service and entertainment- Good food variety, beach and gym- OK spa services. This is not a high-end spa experience. Highlight was definitely the bar staff and concierge (Francesca), who made the experience wonderful for us.
