Lovely resort and pleasant stay

Travelled with my husband and toddler (2 and 3/4yrs old). Nice layout of resort and easy to find everything. Great pools with varying depths make it great swimming for little ones. Gorgeous beach (fine white sand here!) cabanas were first come first serve so we pretty much got use of one at least every 2nd day. Gym was clean and spacious. Spa was very nice and lovely hydro massage pool. My 80min massage was worth it (they offered us a two-for-1 massage deal which was a better deal than the credit coupons they offer to pref club guests). Ask what deals they offer through the week so you know when best to book your desired treatment. This was an anniversary trip so I booked us in a pref. Club Ocean view pool front with jacuzzi. Wasn't cheap. Slight hiccup as they put us into a room on 2nd floor where palms where in front of our rooms (it wouldn't have been so bad because the view was still nice, except that a palm was obstructing our jacuzzi so it was unuseable). They moved us into a higher room as soon as one became available. All good thereafter. Concierge Service was prompt and efficient and hotel staff are very friendly and helpful in general. Food was decent in the ala cartes. Pretty standard fare though. House Chardonnay was so so.Wine snobs can order int'l bottles from dispensary machines in the concierge office at additional cost or from digital wine lists at the restaurants.I think the only real disappointment we felt was with the kids club area. It rained one day and I wanted to take my little girl to play indoors but kids club is only offered to kids aged 3 or 4 and up -- no parents allowed. The play area they let me play in with my toddler was absolutely minuscule and looked out onto the areas that were inaccessible to her so there was no point taking her there as she'd only want to play where she couldn't. They really need to expand their play area indoors for kids who aren't old enough to be in kids club or allow parents to play with their toddlers in existing kids club area.

Lots of kids, but overall a fantastic hotel!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 10days in April. We were at first not happy about the number of kids at the resort, which seemed unusually high (it was spring break in the UK apparently); but the resort staff, food and grounds were so wonderful that they more than made up for it. Javier at the Japanese restaurant was absolutely wonderful. Here are our tips:-The beach bar with the swings (I think it was the Barracuda) we avoided. The staff were dismissive to women, did not make good drinks and seemed to only serve you if you waved money around. Also, the swings were always full of kids. -The lobby bar was fantastic, day and night. Really great servers with excellent cocktails and snacks. We would often walk from the pool area to the lobby bar in the afternoon just to get a drink. -They won't give you a straw by the beach. Either keep your straw, or go to the lobby bar.-Even the buffet has a minimum dress code - men, you need a tshirt. -When we were there, getting a pool chair with an umbrella was very difficult after 7am. By the end of our trip, staff were removing towels from unused chairs, which was good and often fair, but sometimes they would remove your belongings (though they were stored safely for you) if you were gone more than 20 minutes. -Forget about getting a cabana. I think ppl got up at 3am to reserve those, and some ppl would reserve several of them.-Many ppl held multiple chairs in multiple locations (ie with shade or overlooking the beach, or a cabana - or all three) and I understand that it's nice to move around throughout the day - BUT it was very rude to other people who simply wanted a chair to sit in, maybe with some shade. This seemed to happen A LOT. -All the restaurants were good, but the Japanese restaurant was fantastic. We ate there a lot. We also loved the buffet and the steakhouse.-There is an adult-only room to eat breakfast in the morning, but you have to ask for it. Sometimes kids sneak in as there is no lineup at the omelette station. Parents, please respect the adult only areas - there aren't many.-The evening entertainment was excellent. The shows and the lobby bar entertainment were some of the best we've seen. -There is no other lounge area with entertainment other than the lobby bar. Fortunately, it is large and the staff efficient. -My gf is very susceptible to bug bites and she swells up as she is generally allergic to most bug bites. Bring bug spray and an anti-histamine. Without these, her trip would have been ruined (both are sold in the lobby store).-The hotel does many private events (ie weddings), and when they do, they may move you from your pool chair by 4pm so they can set up. Being a jerk and not moving when asked really only inconveniences the staff who are setting up. Bottom line is just move when asked, or get a chair in another area. -It was very windy while we were there and the ocean was rough with a lot of seaweed both in the water and on the beach. The hotel tried to keep ahead of the seaweed on the beach, but it was just too difficult.-We did not get a king size bed in our room, but we otherwise loved our room and its location. We did have to ask for more facecloths frequently, and for our fridge to be restocked (even for water), but the staff were super accommodating.-There was some work being done near the lobby bar that was loud and made sitting outside unpleasant sometimes. This was also the smoking area, so we avoided it anyway. Those are our tips. We did a catamaran trip which was great, but we never got the pics we paid $40 for (which has nothing to do with the hotel btw), but never felt a need to leave the resort otherwise. We might not return to this hotel only because of the kids; but we will definitely book at a different hotel in this chain again.

Relaxing Stay

We ended up at this resort after a disastrous start at another hotel in the Cancun hotel zone, and thankfully it was exactly what we were looking for! The room was spacious and clean, the views were amazing, the staff were all super friendly, attentive and helpful. We found the food and the beach to be good, but not great. Overall we had a very good time and would certainly consider a return. We did upgrade to the club level, so I am not sure if that is why we got free Wi-Fi. We did really enjoy the club section of the beach and our waiter Carlos was amazing.

The GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY

DREAMY DREAMY DREAMY....BUT 1st the BAD then the good. The resort loaded up my bag and I ended up with 1 TRASHED BROKEN luggage, i reported it but they said " we dont know how it got broken" thats it, I guess this is thier way of saying TUFF LUCK BUDDY, thats sooooo NO CLASSY thats bad. ALSO are the drinks WATERED DOWN??? Its impossible to prove this I guess, but on one particular day/eve I drank enough Don Julio ( like 28 shots oz ) that I should not have even been able to WALK ! BUT I was only "feeling good" ??? In Ca I have two margaritas double ( 8 oz) and feel REALLY good, also Interesting that we got a bottle of DREAMS tequila that looks like PATRON but I suspect its FAKE , nowhere does it say Patron and the cork isnt normal, so if this is fake then what else is? Wow this place is CRAZY FUN, YUMMY,SOOTHING, EXCITING, with unexpected SURPRISES and a few SECRETS that only "regulars" know about. quick shuttle from the airport, walking up to the entrance is grand like FANTASY ISLAND tv show. Barely 5 minutes then a nice gourmet appetizer buffet, this whole place is tropical fantasy even walking to our room. Our room was awesome, nothing but luxury fully stocked bar, gorgeous ocean views, awesome bed too, one funny thing is even from the bathroom you can see the ocean, brushing my teeth with ocean view is cool, room service is excellent with TWICE A DAY room cleaning...sweeeeeeet. Hotel staff EVERYBODY that works at this place is WAAAAAY SUPPPPPPER SUPER SUPER NICE, they're motto saying is " ITS MY PLEASURE" we heard this saying like 2000 times and it made us feel like VIP, when resorts hire people like this here's what it makes US FEEL LIKE......ROYALTY, yup I felt really loved that I was staying there, also they remember almost ALLLLLLL your preferences, I was SHOCKED when a server automatically brought me my special margarita with 3 extra side shots and gran marnie and glass of ice with 5 limes, and this was only the beginning . THE FOOD RESTAURANTS SECRETS... YUMMMMMMY. French , dont be shy order 2-3 entrees and 7 appetizers , appetizers lobster, scallops, foie gras , even the escargot was great, one nite we had 8 lobster apps, scallops, 2 filet mignion and the salmon. One SECRET is ask for it and they might bring you a FULL LOBSTER :) SUSHI restaurant was pretty good too, shrimp sambaya is HUGE yummy, saute Grouper is nice too, one nite we had like 6 apps and 4 dinners. the sashimi fish is decent but don't expect toro, so I give the sushi place a "good enough" rating. WORLD CAFE BUFFET is pretty yummy. OCEANA on the pool is FUN FOOD, about every morning I would have 2 lobster omelets, also WHATS SUPER FUN is laying on the beach and they bring you ANYTHING you want to eat and drink, one day we had seared ahi, chix nachos with TONS of guac, goat cheese salad, ceaser salads with carne asada and probably too many DON JULIO ! ITS soooo weird not to pay for anything, not even tips, HOWEVER, we still tipped here and there, but I think after 5 days we only spent like $45. fire dancing was great. WEDDINGS here are DEFINITELY the thing to do, on the beach music and great food and tons to drink, I noticed that EVERY single thing looked brand new. I found NOTHING WRONG with this place, but you just have to plan and expect some things, like taking a nap at noon when there is entertainers dancing to Y.M.C.A at the pool, is gonna be hard, eh no big deal, just plan it. I had plenty of dreamy daytime listening to the ocean. no bugs at all. beach activity's were AWESOME FUN, sail boats kayaks paddleboards are all FREE, we saw LOTS of people who have NEVER sailed, sailing !!! the wind blows IN from the ocean, so if you get stuck your sure to float in, I had SOOOOO MUCH FUN sailing the HOBIE CATS, I even taught one of our new friends how to STEER WITH YOUR TOES WHILE LAYING DOWN. oh also, the resort is located on the beach point so the wind is great it keeps you cooler, we noticed around the corner the other resorts were baking HOT, ours was " just hot" tooo much sun bring their umbrella in the water ahhhhh nice. also a spray bottle was perfect.
