El Dorado Maroma

The El Dorado Resorts are an amazing group of resorts for those looking for a quiet and tranquil place to relax. The resort is surrounded with the beautiful landscape of Cancun and there are rooms that are fashioned with swim up suites. The resort boasts incredible service and polite staff. There are also plenty of a la carte restaurants that not only have a great selection in food, but service as well. A great option for couples wanting a quiet place to relax.
My wife and I travel often to higher end adult only all inclusive resorts. I thought we had experienced "the best" before. How wrong I was! We are beach people and always wanted to go to Maroma beach. It lives up to its hype. The sand is very white and fine like powdered sugar. The sand is like the sand in Negril. The resort is relatively small and lush with tropical beauty. Everything is within a couple minutes walking. Our room was very spacious and beautiful. What makes this place different? The staff. They seem to love their jobs and love serving the guests. There are smiles on their faces and if you ask them how they are you will hear "Excelente". Clearly they train their staff well. Even the housekeeping is taught basic English which is appreciated. I would like to call out a few people that provided over the top service. On the beach, Manuel, is one of the beach butlers. Manuel literally runs to you to properly brush the chair or bed off and cover with towels. He is clearly at your service and loves his job. Bar 24 staff in general are awesome but the "International bartenders" of Antonio and Pedro-Louis along with Karen were outstanding! Antonio knew I wanted Sangrita every day. About the time I was going to have him make one for me, he shows up ON THE BEACH with my sangrita and tequila! That was over the top service. In the restaurants we experienced great service but really appreciated 4 individuals that provided outstanding service. Louis in the Mexican restaurant went over the top for me by personally making me nachos while were watching the Packers play. He told me he had an hour before his shift started so it was no problem. I really appreciated that! Aresmo at MIO found out that I liked hot spicy food. He made me a special season of habanero peppers on our return visit. Again, over the top service. Lastly are Sergio and Oliver from Lima Limon. Both of these men are very friendly and helped guide us with our menu choices. Their advice, friendliness, and humor made for special dinners. At the spa the staff was outstanding. Ironically, I want to call out the guy who roams the beach and property getting appointments. It's not a glamorous job but Daniel does an outstanding job. He's not pushy and has such a personable demeanor you can't help but like him. Thank you Daniel! The couples massage on the beach was one of the best ever!If you are looking for a relaxing romantic vacation I highly recommend El Dorado Maroma.
My wife and I travelled to Mexico as bit of a last minute treat to ourselves. We were slightly nervous before arriving because the resort at El Dorado Maroma was much smaller than the typical holiday resorts we have chosen previously. We needn't have worried it was fantastic. Our room, in building 4, with it's own infinity pool was lovely. Well presented, clean and very comfortable with plenty of space for the lounge area included in the suite. Location was ideal as it looked onto main pool area and although everything on this resort is a short walk we felt like we were perfectly central to everything we needed.El Dorado Maroma delivers great food, entertaining evening shows and wonderful relaxation on both it's pool areas and of course the beautiful beach but the real jewels in the crown of this resort are the staff who appear to have no end of enthusiasm for your holiday and the desire to make sure everything goes the way you would like.I'd like to mention a few people whose level of service was exceptional for different reasons but all equally impressive in their roles.Firstly, Alex the sports and daily entertainment co-ordinator. This guys energy and ability to create a fun atmosphere was wonderful. He made my wife and I feel right at home and I will return to renew our daily ping pong battles (having practised a little more) as well enjoying everything from aqua fit to bingo. In Scotland we love someone who we say "has a glint in their eye" and Alex certainly has.Secondly, Jonas of Mio restaurant. This guy was a perfect host and entertained us with tales of his family life and working life in Mexico. In addition his knowledge of the resort, the wider company and the food on offer at Mio was second to none. If I was characterise Jonas I'd describe him as a perfect gentleman with a genuine enthusiasm for his work.Next up the twin bar men of the main pool Rene and Victor. Great fun, great cocktail makers and always ready with a smile and a joke when you were at the bar. Also, Diego who was our poolside waiter who kept glasses charged and delivered ocean agua constantly with a smile Last and by no means least Jorge our personal butler who went out his way to find us everyday and evening to make sure everything was going well and to ensure our every whim was catered for. Another credit to the resort.Everyone mentioned above was both a credit to the resort and a great contributor to our enjoyment on the resort ensuring we will return. When leaving they all told us we were now part of the family and as rarely happens it actually felt appropriate because the staff and resort actually achieve that feeling of belonging for you.I'm sure there were a couple of things that we felt could be improved but none that demanded mentioning here.
First of all I wanna say the People at el Dorado Maroma is amazing, the entertainment team are so pleasant & make you feel to welcome, We loved the instructor of Yoga Beto & Alex the guy who make the spetial kayak tour for us at Palafitos. Also Angel, Giselle, Dj Chris & Rocia Butler are awesome. Ofcourse spetial mention to Omar Entertainment Manager because was very helpful & cute Man, we also had a very nice talk. the Dinner in the Grill Palafitos restaurant is Terrific! with the accordionist playing so well! Thank you very much to every one. see you soon.
Just got home from 10 days of pure bliss. We are Exotic members and this was our first time at Maroma. We stayed at Seaside suites the last 2 years. This resorts beach is way better. Also, we loved the more intimate size. The sky massage was out of this world. Seaside suites spa is better with the water therapy but Maroma is building a new spa so that should fix that. The staff is incredible. Our butlers Penny, Carlos and Atoxtli saw to everything we might need. The activities staff... Alex, Gissele, and ANGEL... kept us entertained .We participated in all kinds of activities. Bingo in the pool, black jack, pingpong, beach volleyball, cornhole, water aerobics, and cooking classes. The beach butlers were great.. especially Manuel. Need to mention Rene...my fellow Seahawks fan who was one of our favorite at the swim up bar and Deigo who was very attentive. It's crazy how you feel like family with these people. Please bring $ for tips because they work very hard.I would say there were 2 things missing from this resort.. A stand alone outside swing bar. There really isn't anywhere to hang out and socialize outside after the pools close and entertainment is over. The other thing is we have also enjoyed hanging out with people from other countries and we know from last year at Seaside/sensimar that Exotic is trying to separate Americans... Please don't do that. I think most Europeans would agree. Needless to say, we will be back because we had a fabulous time. Thank you Eldorado Maroma and staff.
Love this place, the shows were awesome. Pool volleyball was great. Giselle made our trip fabulous. The beach is beautiful, an amazing wedding trip as well. Gorgeous facility and very clean. Chef Gabriel at Lima Limon was amazing. All the food was served to perfection.
