Happiness is here

Can't put into words what a beautiful place, people, room, food, beach...... drink! We saved baby turtles that had headed the wrong way, we saw humming birds while on the bike ride and the daily pelican fly past always amazed us.Tips- if from the UK Pesos are fine, we tipped but only if service was good, which it always was.No pressure to buy a timeshare, we just said we weren't interested and they were fine with that. The selling comes from the hotel not Tui. We spent most of the time on the beach and the fish in the Sea were amazing. We did the swim up bars a few times, but the warm Sea and beach always called us backFrom the minute we arrived to the very minute we left i cant fault it and I don't know how we are going to beat it next year....... maybe go back again :0)

We had an amazing time at this resort! Quiet evenings as well as a lot going on in other parts of the resort. It has everything you are looking for in a getaway. Excellent service, facilities and restaurants.

Amazing 10 days in Paradise!!!! Good for Vegans

We have just got back from 10 days at El Dorado Royale and we had a fabulous time. Visited with my mum and sister and we loved the resort. So many things about it were excellent and we had a really relaxing time. The positives were:- Food: There is so much choice at the resort and we ate at a different restaurant every night. Every restaurant asked us if we had any food allergies and gave you hand sanitiser on entrance. We went to Cocotals for breakfast most days which is a great buffet with so much choice and fresh omelettes. You can start the day with as many bellinis as you want as well as fruit, pastries or my favourite, french toast and crispy bacon. Kampai was also really good with excellent choice of sushi and the best Mixed Satay I have eaten.JoJos was good for food on the beach and for fresh fish but our least favourite and not the best for Vegan food - not many choices there.Fuentes was a real experience. We went there on the Saturday night and my sister is a Vegan. We had made sure that they knew this but somehow the message did not get back to the chef. He was fantastic!! He came out and spoke personally to my sister and created a 5 course meal that she could eat including a tapioca pudding which she loved within ten minutes of finding out. Really excellent service which we did not expect.EntertainmentThe entertainment at the hotel was amazing. Edgar and Norma kept me entertained for 10 days. I was really worried about being bored but there was so much to do. We played Water volleyball and water polo every day and there were bike tours and archery as well. We also paid a little extra to paint pots by the pool which was fun and kept us entertained. The K Team really earn there money and the make place so fun and welcoming. The evening entertainment was very varied with outside groups being brought in including fire dancing and circus. Our favourite was Eldorado idol on our last night. There was so much to do that we hardly read our books. Got the opportunity to go on a jet ski and para-sail.LocationThe location is beautiful. Yes there are rocks in the sea for the coral but it means that there is a shallow secluded area for walking into where the fish come up and around your feet. We were right on the beach every day and lucky enough to release baby turtles and see a mummy turtle come up the beach. The property is spotless and beautifully landscaped. The pool bar is a great place to meet people and we spent most of our time round the main pool for entertainment and socialising. ServiceThe service at the resort is excellent. Everyone can't do enough for you. Some had trouble understanding vegan but they always tried to help. Your wine glass was never empty and they love to give you Tequila. Every member of staff said Aloha to you; even the tractor driver collecting seaweed in the morning. However we have given it 4 stars for a number of reasons.- Vegan food. Although most restaurants were able to accommodate with not much change to the menu, they did not always understand what vegan was and in the wine kitchen at Generations there was no Vegan choices or adaptable vegetarian options. Also the puddings in general were not as good as the mains and very little vegan pudding options.- Room: the room was the most disappointing part of the stay; it was adequate and big enough for three however it was very dark and condensates which when the floor is all marble became very slippy. The beds were not very comfortable and the entrance to each room was a little drab and could have done with some maintenance. When we got there there was a broken plug, light bulb and the shower light kept going off. We did speak about the plug and light but it never got fixed. We also asked for another lamp which never arrived. Also, they knew there were three people in our room however it was set up for two with two chairs and two dressing gowns. We asked for three and this was quickly rectified however for 5 star hotel this should have been set up in the first place. Resort 5*, room 4*.Overall, a great trip and we would go back and visit the resort again. Thanks Edgar, Norma and everyone else at Eldorado.

Our Destination Wedding :)

Just got home yesterday and in complete withdrawal. It's true this was our fourth trip and there are many reasons we keep going back but this one was extra special because we invited 30 friends and family to come with us to celebrate our special day.We were upgraded to Casitas on arrival which was a lovely surprise. Our butler Karen was amazing and the girls from Lomas Weddings (Maritza and Paty) were fantastic as well. Angeles from Naay Spa in Generations did an amazing job on our hair and make up. Enrique from Naay Spa Casitas is an amazing masseuse for the wind down after all the hustle bustle of the wedding. Special thanks to Gaby for always being an amazing representative of EDCR. Literally nothing worth writing down to complain about. We believe all our guests had an amazing time, were sad to leave and want to return. Thanks for all the staff there who work so hard to ensure our second home is always waiting for us to return to.

Out of this WORLD! Excellent from the first second!

My mum and I have just returned for 10days at El Dorado Royale. I am still reeling and lost for words at just how AMAZING this resort is throughout. Never have i been to a hotel that no matter what thing you can think up to ask for/want, they already have it covered and more! The hotel itself is OUTSTANDING. It's so very large but feels like home, the grounds are impeccably kept all day and night. It's the cleanest, tidiest, well laid out resort I've ever been too. Attention to detail is shown at every given opportunity and and no stone left unturned. The way the resort is laid out also means it still feels very private wherever you are staying. The swim up suites are to die for! We had an upgrade to room 5508. This is a swim up suite in building 55 and if you're stuck for choice - couldn't recommend more! Each morning we would wake, open our curtains, slide out our back door - either straight into our private corner swim up suite without people staring in at you, OR walk the 10yards from our bed straight on to the beach and watch the sunrise. There is no room in this resort that is closer to the sandy beach - it was such a lovely secluded spot! Everywhere you go in this resort, it's your choice! You can take a leisurely stroll, or every time you turn your head, a lovely staff member is offering to simply pick you up (in your own golf buggy) and drive you there! Like a personal taxi service! This is on top of the constant stream of buggies (you barely notice them covertly buzzing about making everything happen!) that the resort puts on every few minutes from little hut like bus stops around the resort! You can hop on and hop off to your hearts desire. The selection of food/restaurants is to DIE for! No restrictions on how many times you visit during your stay. There are two you need to book for, all others are walk in at your leisure. I'm a particular fan of Kampai.... literally the best Asian Fusion I have ever eaten!! Mouth watering dishes, in abundance. Anything from fresh Sushi, stir fry's, Raman the list is endless!! You can order as much or as little as you like, order twice if you so choose! I would thoroughly recommend this place. Prob the best restaurant I've ever eaten in! All the others are just as wonderful, Cocotal, JoJo's, the Italian (the resort has two!) We went to the one near the Casitas - amazing!! Las Islas is great for breakfast and lunch, as was Cocotal and JoJo's. The only thing for us, that we weren't wowed by was La Fuentes. Which was a real shame as there is such hype and potential - just sadly missing a few tweaks we would have hoped for. It might be just what you are looking for however? Many people we spoke with loved this!!! La Fuentes is a 'live cooking show' only for us, we couldn't see any cooking, the camera wasn't looking at the dishes they were prepping and it was overall a little 'flat' as an experience. But.... it may have just been the one night? They provide a 5 course meal (again, not quite my palette) but others may love it. Chicken covered in chocolate sauce however, doesn't work for me. They also do a wine matching service. You pay about £55pp, for this you get a wine connoisseur providing you with a special glass of wine with each dish that has been paired with that meal. Lovely if it's for you? We were SO happy with the house wine they have all over the resort, we genuinely didn't want any other! Santa Fe grill was another you book for.... we heard amazing things about this from returning customers last year - however it seems they have changed their experience a little from last year. It was still very lovely and enjoyable, tasty and a good menu. I don't understand the need for booking though as it was quieter than any of the other restaurants on the resort? Again, could have just been that night? Overall, something for everyone in every restaurant. Served Al a carte, fresh, hot and presented like a Michelin star restaurant anywhere in the world! This is all before you even consider the all inc room service (portions are much larger here!!) that is delivered at a moments notice - and of the same standard!!The staff.... oh my goodness the STAFF!! My review is already too long! I could write for DAYS naming everyone!! A very special mention goes out to Victor firstly. Victor is the waiter in both Cocotal and Jojo's. Everyday he would tend to our every need in the waiting/restaurant world. He would spot us coming in for breakfast, lead us to a lovely table, remembered every fine detail of our preferences and never left us with an empty glass! He was there every moment you needed him but never loitering or overcrowding. He entertained us, payed so much attention whilst never letting something slip elsewhere! He is a magician in my eyes. Couldn't do more to ensure our every wish/need was catered for. Always smiling, very happy warm and kind. Works his SOCKS off and even kindly humoured my mum in giving her the conservation badge he was wearing that she so strongly desired!! He is outstanding in every way! I will remember him forever as the best waiter/man I have ever met!!!Benjamin our barman at K-Grill bar! Outnin rain or shine (and boy did it rain some days!) standing trying even when the crows dispersed and headed for cover - he was on hand for our every need. Edgar - the Kteam entertainment staff. Again, wonderful experience being the greenhouse, the onsite horse ranch come rescue centre and other points across the hotel. He was very knowledgable and patient. Taught us everything we know about the hotel and it's wonderful programmes of sustainability and conservation! There are so many I could mention....If you get a chance, take the bike tour! It will really get you around and you'll see everything you didn't even know the hotel did or had!!Martini bar - amazing! Loud in the evenings but you can happily sit on the balcony outside. All other bars - again amazing!!! I will stop here, not because I haven't got HEAPS more to say, but the review is long enough. If you get the chance, GO to this hotel. For the extra 'small amount' you will pay it is worth every penny!!!!! My fiancé and I are now looking at this for our honeymoon! Literally the best hotel I have ever been too. The staff are out of this world, nothing is ever too much and you will never experience this service elsewhere! I can't wait to go back!!! ENJOY!
