Our Opinion

The El Dorado Resorts are an amazing group of resorts for those looking for a quiet and tranquil place to relax. The resort is surrounded with the beautiful landscape of Cancun and there are rooms that are fashioned with swim up suites. The resort boasts incredible service and polite staff. There are also plenty of a la carte restaurants that not only have a great selection in food, but service as well. A great option for couples wanting a quiet place to relax. A popular choice for weddings and honeymoons.

"Second time at this hotel , great time , terrific food and service .Its a adult only resort which we like The beach is small and has man made artificial reef which isn't aesthetic pleasing but there is lots of fish that come out and greet you when you wade in.Activity staff are great , rooms are great will go back because we know what we got with this one." "An amazing resort! My boyfriend and I were so happy with the resort and staff it was terribly hard to leave! The food is amazing! The cleaning staff/beach butlers/concierge and lobby staff were very welcoming and friendly (they treated us not only as guest but as though we are their friends). It was a thoroughly great experience with no negative parts!" [...]

"We just loved the El Dorado. The food was the best I have had in Mexico (been 3 times) it was fresh, tasted great and the fruits & vegetables were grown in their own on site greenhouse! The beach wasn't great so we stayed at the pools for the majority of the time. Overall, we would defintely go back to this resort!" [...]

"I went to the El Dorado resort with my son, a friend and her daughter in February. My friend is a celiac and so her dietary needs are strict (no gluten) or she becomes quite ill.

I have been to six resorts on the Mayan Riveria and this one was by far and away the best resort I have been to. It was clean, beautifully landscaped, the rooms were lovely and quiet, the service was great and the food was amazing. When the resort learned of my friend's gluten allergy staff went out of their way to accommodate her, even baking her fresh tortillas and breads made without gluten. She had no problems whatsoever (unlike most of her other vacations) and we were all in agreement that we want to go back with the rest of our families.

The gym was quite large and well-equipped and there were about seven pools, but the beach --where we spent most of our days -- was really nice. The only mistake we made was in going in February when the weather is a little unreliable. Anyways, it was a wonderful vacation and I most certainly will go back there again!

"Visited this resort on a family vacation, all adults. The villas were very clean, and had local concierges (very convenient, as the main hotel lobby is far away). Food was great, with lots of selection.

Lots of activities to participate in. This desination is very couples oriented. All in all, a great place to stay. Would love to go there again, but not with the family!" [...]

"Nothing was short of a 5 star rating! We arrived Saturday 25 Oct and came back on Sunday 2 Nov 08. From the moment you arrive, the staff escorts you to the main lobby which felt like paradise (not to mention the glass of champagne to boot). Rooms are very clean and the maids even made towel designs! All the restaurants were top quality (all 7). D'Italiano and Kampei were the best for selection!! We enjoyed having many courses as the portion sizes were small enough to pick off each course on the menu. The staff truely work to make you happy. The activities were non-stop if you were up for it - or lounging in the sun was just perfect!! I would not hesitate to go back!!! If I had one critical comment would be that the beach is a bit lacking how the sandbags are a bit of an eye-sore; however, they're there to protect the beach!!" [...]

"Not one of the basic for a 5* vacation @ a beach resort we could find at this hotel. #1 no beach!!! #2 food you have to wait for hours to get in and the selection is more like a 3* hotel if not 2* the buffet breakfast was so bad I thought I'm in a 2* hotel some where in Cuba. #3 can't find a place after 8am to seat at the pool or at the ocean. #4 entertainment =0. #5 rooms are noisy at night from the generators to close to the rooms ..." "Aside from the issues with the "whales" on the beach (which were known before we left), the resort was phenomenal. We stayed in the Casita section and can highly recommend it. The staff are amazing, the rooms are beautiful and the food was spectacuar. The plus side of the whales is that it makes for great snorkeling! You won't be disappointed!" [...]

"The Hotel is beautiful and spread out, lots of bars and restaurants. Rooms are wonderful and big. Food is the best I have had at any allinclusive. Restaurant seating is a problem with no reservations they tell you 20 min wait and it is usually 2 hours. Hard to get into restaurants unless you go at 5:30 which is too early as it cuts into beach time. They need a place to get fast food or a buffet so you don't have to line up every nite. Service is very slow, expecially if you have any problem, no one wants to deal with it so they keep passing you around to the next person. All in all it was a great place, just a few little inconviences." [...]
