Our Opinion

A quiet and romantic setting that is ideal for couples looking for great service, excellent food and top-notch facilities all wrapped up in a relaxing setting. The Jacuzzi junior suites are excellent, but if you want to go all out, upgrade to the Oceanfront suites or the Swim-up suites with pool right off your terrace. With great service and a gourmet a la carte dining experience that is hard to match, the El Dorado Seaside Suites is highly recommended for couples.

Overview

Fully upgraded, the El Dorado Seaside Suites is now an upscale all-inclusive boutique resort for adults only. This secluded hotel is set on a two-kilometre beachfront, facing a spectacular coral reef and offers luxurious services and creative cuisine. The popular attractions of Xel-Ha, Xcaret and Tulum are just a short drive away. This all-suite resort includes Jacuzzi Junior Suites which feature a private Jacuzzi in your room or on the balcony, and terraces with a hammock. More low-key than many other all-inclusive resorts, it's perfect for a quiet get-away-from-it-all holiday.

Location: Nestled amid 280 acres on Kantenah Beach, a 75 minute drive from Cancun airport, 30 minutes to Playa del Carmen.

Seaside Suites 2 stars...Sensimar Suites 4 stars

It is important to realize that Seaside Suites is a hotel and not a resort...the resort is at the sister property Sensimar. So you are going to do a lot of walking. Hotel lobby is at a totally irrational 3rd location. No lobby bar at all at Seaside...no dinner restaurants at all at Seaside...for that matter there is nothing useful at Seaside...virtually everything is at the Sensimar property. Note that Sensimar is an old resort and is in need of a total renovation, yet itis where Seaside guests will still spend most of their day.

Great experience

The resort is clean and beautiful and the grounds are incredible. The staff are friendly, helpful and loads of fun. The food isn't the greatest but overall totally worth it. There's always fun stuff going on. Highly recommend.

Review El Dorado Seaside suites and TUI Sensimar

Beautiful location and nature (TUI Sensimar in particular), excellent service at El Dorado Seaside suites beach, special thanks to Guadalupe, Juan and Ana. Exceptional diversity of menu options and taste. Personnel always went above and beyond to make our stay a better experience, special thanks to Sandra, entertainment Sensimar, Sheila, Sensimar lobby, Cinthia, hostess, and Alejandro, client services Sensimar. Food, location & nature (Sensimar) and service were definitely what we liked best. Better rooms soundproofing at El Dorado Seaside suites and reserved non-smoking areas in public spaces (beach, bars and pools) would be a great improvement.

Lovely trip to paradise

Fantastic place with good food and a regular supply of drinks both pool side and in the evening. Split venue with predominately European people in the older but still lovely part of the complex and Americans in the new part. Nudist beach in between but very discrete.Met lots of nice people. If you take a taxi into town, get a rate negotiated and agreed before going and coming back. All in though, great.

Absolutely Amazing - Negative reviews are questionable

I want to start my review by saying we had an amazing time at El Dorado Seaside Suites. Now, everything was not perfect - but it was darn near close.Arrival: We got in around 2 and the room wasn't ready yet, so they took us around in the golf cart and gave us a tour - then they took us to the Driftwood for lunch. It's not air conditioned there, so make sure if you're early and you need lunch you're dressed for that. (I'll get to the food later). Room: Absolutely beautiful. We were slightly bummed at first to be on the 3rd floor, but really it was great! We were in building 6 and in room 301. It was a corner room that looked down upon the pool bar (which provided lots of entertainment!). The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was spectacular. We didn't use the Jacuzzi tub. The only thing I wish the bathroom had was a 2nd shower head (they have 1 rain head) because if you shower with your partner someone is getting cold. Also, i wish there was a full door on the "stall" with the toilet. The room was cleaned up every day and the fridge was stocked with everything we requested. (NOTE: There is a separate crew that stocks the fridge, so if you want something special and you're a tipper, leave a note for housekeeping and then for the beverage filler with separate tips). Keep your room at 22 C and keep your patio door closed and you won't have any issues. However, do be careful on the floors - we kept our water shoes right by the door to be safe and always laid out a towel to step onto. Food: We ate a a lot of the restaurants and most of them were great! Driftwood was super convenient because it was right there off the beach. I did find a hair in my burger there one day which was kind of gross, but we ate there 2 more times and never had any issues. I think our favorite was the mexican food restaurant (I forget the name) but order like 1 of everything, the portions are extremely small. The italian restaurant was super yummy. Mexican night on the beach was "MEH". I was under whelmed with the food - I thought it was all pretty bland however the shopping area was nice. The bugs came out hard there and I got chewed up. Bars: All were awesome. Order a dirty monkey! I always asked for the drink I wanted with the "premium" booze because if you don't, they'll make it with the well liquor. Tip tip tip and you'll get served served served. We went 1-1 drink with water. Never once had a a single issue. Beaches: El Dorado Seaside is smaller, the beach is not as nice and the seaweed is kind of gross but if you're looking for relaxing - go there. You can get the bali bed to be in the shade and then there are lounge chairs right in the sun 3 feet from your bed. We never had a single issue getting a bed. We didn't go to Sensimar's beach to chill because we heard it was crowded and louder. Not what we were looking for. Pool: Only went to El Dorado's pool. It was warmer than the pool in your room (if you're 2-6). The bar does close early but honestly it's probably for a good reason. Most people were pretty drunk by then and the sun isn't shining in that area, so gets kind of chilly! WEAR YOUR WATER SHOES when walking anywhere around the pool. It's so slippery. I saw too many people slip and fall. Nightlife:There is a bar on the 4th floor that was pretty bumping most nights. We stayed until 1:30 one night and it was wrapping up. I'm not sure if that's typical or not. The sensimar swing bar is fun, but again, the bugs. Walking/Location: I'm not sure what the big deal is here. The walk from El Dorado to Sensimar is MAYBE 5 minutes. You walk that to get through a parking lot and into a mall. Now, to get up to El Dorado's lobby/Check-in or the spa is further - that's a good 10 minute walk. If you've got the time, it's a beautiful walk (but bring your bug spray!). The golf carts come around every 10 minutes or so if you need to catch one. We met some great people while we were there and had some of the best service we could ask for. We will totally be going back here.
