Our Opinion

A very unique 5-star hotel. The Mayakoba steps away from the conventional resort setting, situating near the forest portion of the resort grounds, rather than the beach. While it does divert from the usual resort scenery, many applaud the beautiful grounds. The resort has excellent guest services and great food. This is the perfect destination for those who are looking for a unique getaway to the Riviera Maya.

Greatest beach of the Riviera!

The service has always being outstanding, but what really surprised me this time is the beach! They improve it so much! The beach it's so wide now! I would guess more than 30 meters, so there's plenty of space for volley ball games, kayaks, kids running around, etc A truck passes by every afternoon picking up the zargazo, so it's clean and odor free.We still have a few more days, stay tune for pictures!

Family summer vacation

7 of us had a wonderful week at the Fairmont. The Fairmont beach had pristine white sand and bright blue water. Free kayaks and paddle boards and katamaran use. The Mayakopa has rivers running through it and a lush jungle landscape. We saw monkeys, turtles, and strange but friendly raccoon like creatures. It is a massive resort but has frequent shuttles throughout the grounds with friendly drivers. The spa is huge and luxurious. Our villa was very big and on the lagoon with a rooftop pool. The kids (less expensive) room turned out to be large with a nice patio and view. No bad rooms there. We had to see the onsite doctors twice and they were both extremely accommodating and helpful. The Conciege were all extremely helpful, especially Christina who made sure my daughter got her medicine from the pharmacy ASAP (ear infection). Our villa came with a Butler, David, who provided outstanding service and A+ recommendations of where to go and eat offsite. Very nice to have the Butler fill your fridge and make all your reservations for you! We would simply send him a text. He would also check in to see if we needed anything if he hadn't heard from us. He even happily accommodated the kid's requests and filled their fridge, though their room did not have Butler service included. I think David was one of the highlights of the trip for all of us! We did not want to leave.

Most enjoyable vacation in a long time!

Extremely satisfied.. The service was extraordinary. If I knew the name of every person that we had contact with, I would commend every single one of them, for their attention to detail and quality of service. The resort is spectacular, we loved the pools --their design is so smart, it makes you feel every guest has their own little private pool. The service at the pools, beach and restaurants is first class. We stayed at the resort next door three years ago, and at the Fairmont in Maui last year, and I would go back to Mayakoba over any of the others in a heartbeat... My only observation or comment for improvement is in the food area. I realize Fairmont is very new at the All Inclusive offering, and I do understand there has to be some studies made in order to extend the service, but I think you should go All Inclusive all-the-way, which will simplify your restaurant menus -still having simpler formal dinner menus--, and will offer guests a much better food experience when you can choose to eat what you like, and not to choose only from a rich fusion-modern Mexican cuisine menu --I had to order several times, plain meats or fish with fries, when I could not find what I liked in the fixed dinner or lunch menus. All Inclusive should definitely include Room-Service 24x7. I will gladly pay a little more for the full All-Inclusive experience related to food. I guess this translates into a breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet... Fairmont style of course. My family was thrilled with the resort, the service and the amenities throughout.Thank you for hosting us.We will certainly consider visiting Mayakoba again soon.

Fantastic place for family trips!!

We returned after one year with our kids this time. The place and facilities are unique and contact with nature is majestic. The beach has just been redone and it is spectacular!! There are plenty of activities for everyone from walking, bicycles, kayak, snorkeling, and many more with a PGA Tour golf course. The best part is how nice and pampering is the staff. They go beyond to make your vacation unforgetable. From the entrance where Manuel welcomes you with 11 years of experience in this resort. Rooms are big and full of amenities. The pools are big yet not crowded with small spaces for privacy. There are 3 restaurants being the best Brisas where Ana María the restaurant manager and Fernando Canales the chef would find the right meal for you with the right drink. Even for the kids!!! On the superb beach Antonio will ensure you have evrything you need at any given time. On the main pool Henry will give you royalty treatment. On the Laguna restaurant you can even randomly see Damian the chef sitting almost on the floor to talk and Interact with our 5 year old about football shown on the restaurant screen!! Simply extraordinaire staff!!! And also don't forget to pay a visit to the spa, superb!! There are manglars all aroud with boat rides and mosquitos you can easely chase away with repelent offered free at the property. On the down side being a huge property you may see some maintenace issues but you can also see the staff actívely working on them.

Best vacation in Mayan Riviera. Ever.

I don't normally write reviews but was compelled to do one this time because it was such a lovely experience. We have been living in Mexico for 3 years and had previously travelled to various beaches in Mexico (including multiple visits to Playa del Carmen region), staying at everything from all-inclusives to AirBnB condos. It has to be said - this was BY FAR my favourite. We stayed over the Canada Day/4th of July long weekend this year with our 5 and 1.5 year olds. From our arrival, the staff were warm and genuinely pleasant. The resort is beautiful; much more tropical than other locations we had visited. I was worried it would feel too big but the golf carts pass by very frequently (we never waited more than 2 min) and the drivers will stop to ask if you need a ride even if you're not at a stop. Bikes are available to ride as well. Despite the size, it still felt cozy. Kids eat free in the restaurant (!!) and across the resort was such a pleasant mix of family-friendly yet still civilized (hard to come by!). Our 5 year old loved the kids club (first time she braved it alone!) and returned the second day to enjoy a boat ride and saw 3 crocodiles. Awesome! We all enjoyed the pool as well as the beach - beautiful white sand and crystal clear aqua water. Great food/beverage service a both locations. I really felt like I was on holidays. Really, what more could you ask for? A special thanks to Sylvia for making our stay special. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
