Our Opinion

A good resort destination in the Riviera Maya. The location of the hotel is by a beautiful beach. The variety of buffet and a la carte items are OK. There have been reports of issues concerning resolving maintenance issues of your room, with some travelers reporting great delays in addressing such matters. However, it does not take away from the overall experience of the resort.

When in Tulum

First off let me say I have been many places and I am jaded somewhat by staying at nice places but this trip to Grand Oasis after a short 4 days is WORTH THE REVIEW.First let me say if traveling to Tulum PLEASE BRING BUG SPRAY they will eat you alive I am still itching while writing this lol. Ok on to the review. Reception - Yahir Karate and Aida Silva are the two main people you need to speak with. They are so friendly and helpful and accommodating and GENUINE you can not go wrong. I hope the manager sees this and GIVES THEM A RAISE! Because I will be sending everyone I know from NYC to the hotel soley because of them. Do not allow great help to NOT be acknowledged and granted gains that the establishment will inherit from continued tourism. This hotel allows guest to get all inclusive and it is so worth it you are granted a wrist band and unlimited access to the many delicious restaurants on sight. (Please venture outside of the hotel as being in this location and not going to a cenote is a crime) But the beach is on the site and beautiful as well as the 3 pools you are able to have a ball!Heralay was an outside attendant he was always smiling and helpful and also very genuine and always able to communicate the best attracts to go see and be apart of while on our vacation. I honestly am heartbroken returning to NYC and just being back in the atmosphere of dog eat dog due to the kindness and compassion I was shown on this visit. Please visit here if you want to be treated well, gain some weight from eating all the delicious food, and get a great tan and GET THIS HOTEL ALL INCLUSIVE PASS!so have a great time! and enjoy! don't second guess JUST BOOK ITTTTTTTTTT

Another Grand Vacation at the Grand Oasis Tulum !!!

My family and I spent another 7 idyllic days and nights with our 4th visit to the beautiful located and understated Grand Oasis Tulum from Aug.24th to Aug. 31st.The concierge and reservation staff (Dana and young man whose name escapes me) upgraded our oceanfront rooms to 1st floor with beach access and adjoining rooms which made for great access to ocean and family members. We had delicious pancakes, french toast, and made to order omelets at the arricefe breakfast with the delightful and accomodating cook, Analia. For lunch, we split our time between the outside panoramic ocean viewing Careyes seafood restaurant with our excellent waiter, Clio and asistant, Justo ,salivating on outstanding salmon, mexican crab soup and the Hippie-Chic poolside restaurant munching on tacos, salsa, hamburgers, chicken tenders with the tree-climbing coati jungle monkeys and tropical birds in the background and being served by the kind and gentle patriarch of the Grand Oasis,Wenceslau. For dinner, we frequented all of the restaurants but our favorites were the Cocoa steak restaurant where we dined on delicious filet-mignons, delicious baked potatoes, desserts and superbly served by our outstanding waiter, Noe, with whom I shared multiple intelligent conversations including Donald Trump's "35%" approval rating in the United States. Family also enjoyed the Das Lunas Italian restaurant serving excellent spaghetti carbonara, delicious calamari, shrimp scampi, and home-made pizzas which always make you feel like you are home, ably served by the excellent waiter, Antonoio, and maitre d, Pedro, and the outstanding Sarape mexican restaurant with the mouth-watering chicken and steak fajitas and delicious frozen margaritas served by the best bartender on the resort, Filaberto, in the Sarape. In between meals, we walked and snorkeled one of the best beaches in the Riviera Maya outside the Oasis with abundant reefs and numerous tropical fish about 50 yards off-shore.In the evening , we thoroughly enjoyed the shows in the theatre with the outstanding entertainment team headed by the" Voice",impresario, and "Michael Buffer"of the Grand Oasis, Israel, and his outstanding team, Jean Paul and Luis. Speaking of "Michael Buffer ", the Grand Oasis Tulum was kind enough to show a free closed-circuit viewing of the Mayweather-Mcgregor fight during our visit there !!! The pirate show was spectacular and the circus talent and dancers were exceptional. Regarding excursions, we were quite contented to stay at the calm resort but we did visit the Xel-Ha Tulum marine theme park which was 8 hours of water rides, water slides , cliff-jumping, floating thru mangrove jungles, snorkeling with sting-rays, barracuda, multitude of tropical fish, fresh-water cenotes and caves, hiking, and zip-lining, great food and beverage-a highly recommended family outing. For further relaxation, we would visit the lovely and beautiful Noeli at the coffee shop who would make us delicious cocoa, herbal teas and milkshakes. Lastly, I would like to extend our thanks also to Bautista (Bellman), Francisco(Mini-Fridge Service), Jose (Housekeeping) and Gerardo Bordoli (Director) for extending your family hospitality and another Grand Vacation at the Grand Oasis Tulum. Thanks again. Warmest Regards, Paul W. and Family

Beautiful Views, Personalized Service, Wonderful Experience!

My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Grand Oasis Tulum! We found a good deal on Expedia and I called a few days in advance and told the staff that I would be proposing to my girlfriend on the trip. Best thing in life you can learn is to never be afraid to ask, the worst anyone can tell you is no. They must have written a note down because we were bumped up to an absolutely beautiful ocean-view room with daily surprises such as chocolate covered strawberries, cheese/nut tray, champagne, etc. The water views were crazy and I would definitely recommend the upgrade. They also comped our in-room safe and wifi for two devices - this was clutch. Wifi even reached out to most parts of the beach so we could stream music, check emails etc. A/C was good - could have been a bit colder but kept the room cool with no issues. Shower had very good water pressure both hot and cold. Bathroom clean and had a modern/upscale spa type vibe. The fridge in the room is kept stocked with beers & sodas. Leave a note or catch the housekeeper if you want more/less of any particular items and they'll oblige. The turn down service was very well done, swans flowers & all that. Obviously the highlight of the trip was proposing to my girlfriend! We hiked over the rocks to a gorgeous scenic jetty and it was an unforgettable moment. After that, we went back to our room to clean up and go celebrate. We ate at Dos Lunas and I can't remember the server's name but he was the man - congratulated us, made us special cocktails, brought out a bottle of champagne and called in a surprise mariachi band to serenade us. Big shout out to the friendly entertainment staff - especially Hector and Alejandro. They were the greatest, even let me jump on the turntables and DJ for a bit one night. The live band on Sunday night was extremely talented, played a diverse set and rocked a fun crowd. Dance floor was manned by the entertainment crew and they kept the good vibes going. We only went to one other show but it was entertaining as well. There's a piano lounge with live music nightly. The pianist is fabulous and very friendly - he let me play some tunes as well which was fun. Some of the food was great, some good, some average, some meh Bites was by far our favorite, really delicious and fresh. Plus it's very well air-conditioned while some of the other spots could be a little stuffy. Wait staff generally good. The buffet waiters weren't very attentive, we had to go grab the water pitcher a couple times but hey it's a buffet. You do have to stand in line every morning if you want to get a restaurant reservation which was a bit annoying. Seems like a really easy portal to set up online. Don't be afraid of the buffet though, we enjoyed it.Wine quality was a bit hit or miss. We kicked off the trip with a glass of white wine at our first lunch and it was pretty awful with a vinegar taste. But the cocktails/beers were consistently good and we had some wine later that was just fine. The bottle of champagne at Dos Lunas was quality but the bottle that was sent to our room wasn't. I'd say stick with a liquor/beer you like as that strategy is more consistent. The water is beautiful, the beach is very well-maintained and the fact that the resort is on a nice little coral reef is a huge plus. Lots of beautiful fish swimming around and free snorkeling/kayaking/paddle boarding. The day beds and tiki huts fill up pretty quickly but they become available frequently. ALWAYS an ample amount of lounge chairs. We really enjoyed chilling on the beach one night at dusk and watching the stars come out - the view is phenomenal and the resort lighting is unobtrusive. Infinity pool with the swim-up bar was epic - Jesus was a top notch bartender. We met a bunch of great people and made friends. It's not an adults-only resort but there are plenty of adults-only sections so kids are not a bother at all if that's a deterrent for you. The kids section is on one end of the resort and is set apart from everything else. Another cool thing was the diverse mix of people there. Lots of younger people, older people, couples, families, groups of friends - the resort was busy enough to mingle and make friends if you wanted to and quiet enough to keep to yourself and relax. Pretty sweet, we did both. Take advantage of the car rental - $40 for the first day and goes down every day you use it after that. WELL worth it as you are only 15mins away from Tulum and 6-7mins from Akumal. If you're scared of getting lost - download Navmii Mexico app which is a useful offline GPS. And have the conversion rates in your head if you want to go roam the cities and go shopping. XE currency app is great, and it also helps just to have a quick reference chart on your phone notes with xchange rates for 20 pesos, 50, 100, 200, 500, etc. I speak pretty good Spanish but you can also access the Google Translate app offline - make sure to download the Spanish section before you go. All in all, we loved our experience there and appreciated the upgrade and the personalized care that was shown by the staff. Thanks for the hospitality!

Beautiful, Relaxing, and Friendly Place <3

My family stayed for a week at Grand Oasis Tulum and we absolutely loved our stay at the resort. It truly is the calm resort as we had the ocean to ourselves most days, snorkeling up and down the reef that's very close to the shore. The fish tended to be around the piers and boats and we saw a great deal of variety (sargeant mayors, yellowtail snapper, longfin damelfish, foureyes butterflyfish, doctorfish, barracudas, sting rays). We found some pretty sand dollars, coral, and shells to take home as a reminder of how gorgeous the underwater world is in Tulum. The entertainment staff Jovana, Israel, John Paul, David, and Luis made our stay memorable, active, and fun! They are all amazing dancers, hosts, and people. Jovana rocked the Zumba classes with her bomb dancing skills, John Paul (senor hoyuelos) taught us some salsa and bachata on the dance floor, David taught us how to move our hips like Shakira, Luis was a big goofball, Israel made water aerobics fun, and he got us pumped up for the entertainment shows with his sexy voice. We had a lot of fun playing volleyball against the staff! They were all hilarious, down to earth, and kind. The synchronized dancing songs was our favorite haha especially that one song that speeds up. Thank you for hanging with us, improving my Spanish speaking skills, and being so friendly. We truly had a great time :) As for the different shows, we really enjoyed Acrobados, the Circus show (the male clown was hilarious), the Mayan tribal dancing, and the new Pirates light dancing show. The food had a nice variety as there are different restaurants and you can never go wrong in the buffet. Our favorite was eating salmon for dinner at Careyes. Hippie chick was fun to go to for lunch as the coati and local birds were nearby as it is in more of a jungle area. The fruit was fresh and always a go to. Analilia made the best eggs at the breakfast buffet and she was always welcoming and kind. Our all time favorite staff was Noeli who works in the coffee shop. Biggest sweetheart with such a wicked humor. Nice to get an iced coffee for such hot days. Rigoberto made the best margaritas, Noe, Cleo, Frederick, Jonathan, and Giovanni were all amazing employees as well! The rooms were always cleaned and had air conditioning. The chairs to sit out on the beach were comfortable and I spent many hours reading and sunbathing with the ocean crashing in front of me. Taking walks along the beach at sunset was very enjoyable and the sand was so soft on your feet. We had one excursion day and we went to Xel-ha which was a great choice. Beautiful snorkeling with fresh and salt water fish! Went down a slide, zip-lined, lazy river floated, cliff jumped, shopped, ate, and sun bathed all day!Hasta luego, Mexico! Te amo!

All the staff are kind and friendly, they are accomodating and always making sure your having a good time. It rained quite a bit while we were there but there was plenty of activities to do. Cannot fault the entertainment staff Jovanna, David, Luis and Jean Paul for getting us involved with all the activities and making our trip extra special.
