Our Opinion

The Grand Palladium Riviera is a good 4.5-star luxury resort. While it does offer the basic amenities of a high-end resort, there are other resorts that offer better luxuries. The buffet restaurants are far more of a superior option than the a la cartes. The rooms could use a little bit of a revamp, as there have been some reports that the bathrooms have a tendency to get a little leaky. The beach view is incredible. However, the grounds are a little rocky. This is a great resort for those who like large scale hotels. There are both shuttle and walking options in getting around the hotel. It is advised though that guests should know the layout well to avoid getting lost.

Warning this resort has extremely very load music

We arrived late at night to a band playing extremely load music. The band was playing very close to the check in front counter. This made it very hard to communicate with the check in clerk and to hear what they had to say. I like load music but this was over the top. When you have to yell to communicate there is a problem. Not a good way to start your holidays. The place looked beautiful and very clean. The people were very friendly and helpful but not all of the staff understands English very well. The rooms were nice and spacious. We were on the top floor of our villa and the first night it rained a lot and the rain came under our door into our suite. There was quite a puddle of water to clean up which the staff where happy to do. We were not the only suite to have water come in. A few days later we did have water dripping from our ceiling one morning not sure if that came from the AC or pipe as it did not rain that night. Some of the food in the buffet was cold and some of the meats were not fully cooked as a few times the chicken was still pink inside. The Japanese’s restaurant was the best I have ever seen, great show and the food was excellent. The main pool area had very load music the same beats over and over again. When it came to the dance lesson at the main pool area, we could hear 2 different type of music playing at the same time. One was for the dance lesson and the other from the main pool speakers. You never had a problem getting a chair around that pool area.

Friendly, high-quality service. Loved it.

This is our 1st trip to Mexico. 4 other trips to Punta Cana, 2 of which we stayed at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana. This is our favourite place so far. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Place was spotlessly clean. Ride service from lobby to lobby and to our room was excellent. Entertainment was good. Snorkelling was good. LOVED the saltwater pool. Food was good. Restaurant service was great. Place didn't seem crowded. Loved the environmentally friendly approach - more trees/mangroves, reduced laundry, etc.One complaint that I have about all the all-inclusives I've stayed at: I would love to have a botanical tour of the grounds to learn all the flora and fauna.

CON CLASSE is the best - PALLADIUM needs to make a change!

CON CLASSE IS THE BEST - PALLADIUM BETTER MAKE SOME CHANGESLike most places in the Mayan Riviera, Palladium is a beautiful resort with nice quiet feel, and while every place needs some improvement, there is a big change that needs to be made. My husband and I like to stay up late listening to the music bands and Con Classe is the best we’ve heard in decades of going to Mexico. What change then needs to be made? Palladium recently cut this band down to 4 nights a week and replaced them with cheap, mediocre bands that after one hour you’ve heard enough and want to go to bed. Con Classe has been a guest favorite for years and people dance to their music. (The other groups not so much.) I don’t know why palladium did this, maybe to save money? Whatever the case, Con Classe guarantees a fun evening and if Palladium doesn’t give them more days or loses them to another hotel, we will seriously consider going somewhere else. (We used to be members of the Bahia Principe and when they got rid of their good band we never went back.) While every resort has a beach and food, the big difference is the nightly entertainment. Palladium is a large resort that has several bands playing in different locations - Con Classe is a band that should be playing 7 days a week. (Ok, in Mexico people work 6 days a week.) Palladium better stop being cheap and fix this problem fast before Con Classe goes somewhere else - and then so will we.

Overbooked hotel don't expect the room you booked

Absolutely wonderful hotel' but apparently has a reputation of being overbooked so we ended up n a room with no beach just rocks, a long walk for any meals, pools, amenities and reception area. We actually done our research and booked an ensuite near everything and ended up in a completely different hotel on a huge complex. Meals are very good, staff are very helpful and the facilities are first rate albeit miles apart.Be prepared for noise from Americans who keep shouting "let's party" even when there is only two of them together!!!Fantastic spa and treatment area.Having been to Mexico before we knew our way round so a trip to the lovely activity parks and Player de Carmen is a must especially the new 3D museum where you stand in the pictures to have a phot taken. All in all fantastic hotel, great food and drink, brilliant staff it was the over booking of the room and the vastness of distances between rooms and restaurants etc spoiled it especially after doing my research and booking the room we wanted. P.S It was thanks giving and we found out later that the room we booked went to Americans because they arrived before us on the same day - poor excuse.
