Our Opinion

A great getaway for both families and couples. The resort offers the usual all-inclusive amenities. There have been reports regarding a slight problem with the Wi-Fi. However, unless you're staying in this resort for business purposes, this isn't necessarily a huge issue. Great a la carte options, especially the European and Japanese restaurants.

Amazing Resort-- Cannot recommend highly enough!

My boyfriend and I booked a week long stay at Paraiso Beach, first time in Mexico and first all inclusive experience for me. I was really impressed! The staff are incredibly friendly and the grounds are immaculate. Room was beautiful. The buffet restaurants were really good, not sure why people on here complained. BUT next time we would probably stay at the Lindo where you get unlimited a la carte restaurant access. We ate at the Puerto steakhouse and enjoyed that. Make your reservations as soon as you arrive, as the restaurants get booked fast.Drinks are unlimited and free which is amazing. They sometimes make them a little weak so just ask for a double of whatever you order. Bartenders were great about special requests. The beaches are beautiful and clean. Lots to do like snorkeling, catamarans, etc. Don't forget sunscreen or aloe because it's expensive in the shops ($24 for some sunblock). We also highly recommend touring Tulum with Passion tours. They took great care of us and our package even included a guided tour and beach trip to Playa Paraiso after the ruins. You can book a tour in the lobby, just ask concierge.A+++ to Iberostar! We will stay with them again for sure.

Great hospitality

We have recently visited the Iberostar Paraiso Beach, located on Carretera Chetumal-Perto Juarez KM 309, Playa Del Carmen, Quintana Roo. It was about 60 of us coming from all over the US and Monterrey, Mexico, we were attending a wedding over the weekend.I was so impressed with everything there that I felt compelled to write about our experience while there. It started with their physical facilities, six square miles of beautiful well manicured well maintained gardens where peacocks and other animals roam free was very impressive. The architectural design and colorful buildings, the amazing swimming pools, water gardens, fountains and I can go on and on about the amenities, but what really got me to talk about Iberostar was their HOSPITALITY, it was an absolute pleasant experience. On the first night we all split into small groups and went on different directions. My group went to dinner at a restaurant called “El Mercado” where we met a young server under the name of Santos Lopez, he was sharp, skillful, prompt and very knowledgable about the place and the product he was serving. The next day we came back for a late breakfast, to our surprise Santos was there, keep in mind that this is a very busy place, however, I was amused that he remembered us and remembered what we ate and drank the night before. As we spent more time there we met manny people like Santos everywhere we went, everyone was very friendly, the concierge helped us with every need we had. In the short time there, they make us feel welcomed and in return they become part of our extended family. Also, while there I noticed an other young man that was present at just every placed I was. I would see him walking trough the restaurants, lobby, at the beach, he was present everywhere I thought he was following me around, it turns out that his name is Javier Gil, he is an Executive Assistant Manager. I made the time to introduce my self to Mr. Gil, and to let him know about Santos and the well selected and trained staff. All in all and without mentioning the beautiful beach, Iberostar Paraiso Beach was an excellent choice not just because of its great value, but because of their HOSPITALITY. We will be back next summer.I think we just started a new family tradition.

A good stay

We stayed here for 4 nights last week (June 12-16) and overall had a very good experience. We had a room in the back of the property with beach access from the back door of our room. The room was comfortable and the fridge was fully stocked with beer, water and other drinks every other day. The grounds are very well maintained and seeing all the wildlife roaming around (peacocks, coati, capybara, iguanas) was really cool. The food was good but not really great, hence the 4 star rating instead of 5. Also, they use golf carts to transport people from the beach to the lobby and sometimes it took a while to wait for one to pick you up. It is almost a half-mile walk from the lobby to the beach, so if you don't use the carts you will walk a lot. The shows at the theater were entertaining. This was our first stay at an all-inclusive resort and my wife is ready to go back. I won't mind, but I would like to try other all-inclusive resorts to get a better comparison.

Great Vacation!!!

Had an excellent time at this property. Staff go out of their way to help you. Very accommodating. Property is BEAUTIFUL. Grounds are well maintained, food is abundant and good. Beach is spectacular..... Wildlife all over the property make it wonderful, Peacocks strutting around everywhere. We stayed towards the center of the property which I would recommend. The property is large and you will do a lot of walking which does help burn off all the good food!! They do have carts that you can hop onto constantly roaming the property. Our standard room was excellent. Housekeeping did a great job. Beds gave us a peaceful sleep. Bathrooms are fully stocked and clean. They re-stock the mini fridge with soda, beer and water every other day. The only down side to anything at all was having to leave!!!

Will Never go back!

ENTERTAINMENT - The staff does a decent job getting people involved and promoting a good time at the pool. The night shows were well done. Disco was a great touch; fun, dancing & drinks till 3am. Karaoke was cool, except one of the workers tried to pressure people into singing and if you refused, he rolled his eyes at you and made a face. BARS- The beach bar was great! Bartenders were friendly and helpful. FOOD/SERVICE - I've been to several all-inclusive resort and this resort had decent food, however; the steak house was a terrible experience. We went there for dinner and the staff were not very nice at all. Three dishes my husband wanted they were all out of and hardly anyone was even at the restaurant. We went there for breakfast a couple times as well and still got bad service. The food and service a the front two buffets was good. The staff at the buffet restaurants were very polite and treated us well. Unfortunately, my husband, myself, and other people that were with us got food poisoning from the food at the beach. When we called the front desk to tell them something there was bad, they basically called us liars and didn't help us at all. STAFF: The staff was kind of hit or miss. We did experience some rude staff during our stay. A staff member on a cart basically refused to give us a ride to take us closer to the beach, but another did stop once for us. While at the pool, two staff members were cleaning the women's restroom when several people noticed and told them there was poop in the first stall. They said they would take care of it, but when we returned, it was still there and the staff was gone. Additionally, when we went to check-out, we were told we owed money for a call made to Cancun. We told them we only made one phone call to the front desk to tell them about the food poisoning and didn't even know how to call to Cancun. The Staff member got an attitude with us and we just paid her to get out of there. Overall, most of the staff appears lazy, and rude, but there are a few good ones. ROOM - On a good note, the room was nice and clean. AC worked great and got real cold. The ceiling fan in the room was a nice touch. Fridge was always stocked with beer, waters, and sodas. Ours staying in near by rooms had issues with the toilet and it took them a day to fix. WIFI - this resort could greatly improve their wifi! Some people need wifi for their jobs/work. It was spotty most of the time. Wifi was on and off at the beach as well; mostly non-existent. Getting better wifi range and speeds would make guests a lot happier! It's 2017!BEACH/POOL - The pool was nice. It runs throughout the whole resort. The beach is clear blue; minimal seaweed. Very nice. White soft sand. There is also another near by pool we did not know we weren't allowed to go to. When the waitress there asked us if we wanted something to drink, we told her we'd order at the bar and she called security on us. All she needed to say is that that pool was not part of our resort, no big deal. RESORT/GROUNDS - Resort was nice and clean. Resort & landscaping was beautiful and well maintained. Tons of beautiful wildlife on the resort grounds all over. Staff were constantly cleaning and maintuaining the premises; sweeping pathways, sweeping away seaweed on the beaches, raking leaves, etc. We so wanted to like this place after reading all the reviews, but we will never go back. Most of the staff is rude and did not want to help us after we got food poisoning from their food. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
