Our OpinionGreat small-scale resort located by a beautiful beach. While the resort itself is small, it is located in quite a large property, making it more suitable for guests who don't mind walking to get around the resort. There is very attentive and pleasant staff and the food options are OK. A fairly solid 4-star resort for those who want a quieter Mexican getaway.
We had A deluxe double sea view bungalow. Beautiful room and because we were on honeymoon we had special breakfast in bed and champagne and discount on a couples massage at the spa, which we thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. We enjoyed all the restaurants at this resort. especially enjoyed the Mexican restaurant near the beach , the Japanese and the main buffet, plenty of good food to enjoy. no complaints here.We ventured out on our own, we caught the local bus from outside the hotel, you just wait and the buses will stop, I did some research before we went. We caught the bus to Tulum and stopped at the bus station and had a look around the town, we then hired bicycle's and road to Tulum, also booked a ticket and we did snorkeling a package deal, plenty of kiosk's . We loved Tulum beautiful place and ruins. we didnt fancy the long excursions to the other Mayan ruins. It was unique experience exploring by ourselves. The animation were really good and had plenty of activities to enjoy and didn't pressure you to join in, which was really nice change from other places we have been too. Lots of wildlife around the hotel, loved the raccoons and iguanas. The beach was good but had some damage from hurricane the year before. The staff and bar restaurant, all very friendly, customer service at the hotel really good. We had a really good time here, we booked the photographer for photo's highly recommend, really good photo's worth every penny. We came 2012 sept. Great memories
I decided to book here for 2 nights but I could not even stay for even 1 night! To begin, It is far from the main road so be prepared to walk a fair distance! When you consider having your luggage during the walk in the sun at 40C, it's quite the consideration! I cannot stress enough that this is NOT A HOTEL! Upon realizing this during check-in, I wanted out and I could not get a refund. I decided to check-in anyway but when I went to the room, it was filthy! Garbage everywhere, bed not made! To top it all, there was a smell of mold in the room. Clearly there was a mistake! I was given a different room thereafter. Seemed decent but I could not get the fact that this is not a hotel but instead an apartment and that everything was extremely far from here! I decided to use the internet! Surprise! No internet in the room! I had to go downstairs to the lobby for which the internet did not work either! When I went to the front desk to ask for assistance, I was argued with for a good 20 minutes that there is a problem with my computer instead! They wanted to prove it to me by showing me on their iPad and guess what? The internet did not work on their iPad either! It took another 20 minutes just to fix and the internet kept going off and on. I decided I have had enough and decided to go back to my room and although the card seemed to work, the knob would not turn properly! The door was stuck! It would not open at all! At that point, I had had enough and wanted to leave. I pleaded for a refund but they would not give it to me. I ended up leaving and being charged for a night of misery for which I did not even stay there! Last I heard, the "hotel" is now closed permanently. I guess this is karma. Hopefully it stays closed as this place was a big rip-off. There are plenty of other hotels which are more affordable with the amenities, not to mention, actual customer service! Because clearly, this place will leave you nothing but a big headache and a ruined vacation!
We stayed at our suite at the Grand Mayan which we love but visited our long time friend, Mr Ramos who is now the manager of this hotel. We enjoyed our lunch and also Happy Hour. The staff is super friendly. The shuttle service back and forth is always on time. The shuttle from the Mayan is a nice enjoyable ride. We even got to see the nursery where all the foliage is raised for planting. We look forward to our return and always plan to visit and enjoy the peace and quiet of this lovely gem of a hotel in the up and coming Riviera Maya area. If we ever need extra days, we plan on staying here a few nights.
The hotel is around2 star but service and food makes me love it so much, the best food was at la terrazza snack place at ocean breez section, all the waiters were very friendly ,they always please me,but the best was Sanchez,he was very fast, and always smile wich makes me come back only to this restaurant. the food was very tasty but over priced espasially buffet stile dinner and alcogol was not included ,I recommend this hotel only all inclusive
