Our Opinion

The Paradisus la Perla is a great adults-only resort that boasts amazing views. Situated within the corners of Playa del Carmen's resort strip, the resort possesses some of the best views of the beach. There are also plenty of restaurant options available, staffed with attentive and helpful staff and serving one of a kind cuisine that is beyond the usual resort dining experience. There are plenty of swim-up suites available within the resort. This is a perfect destination for couples, weddings, and honeymoons.

SECOND TIME AROUND JUST AS GOOD AS THE FIRST!

Stayed at this hotel last week of February. Returned for a second time after a wonderful first experience last year. Love the palapas around the pool. Always served with a smile wherever we went. Special mention to Eva Ciau and Sara who served us at the Hadar restaurant.

Honeymoon at La Perla

My wife and I recently spent 7 days at La Perla on our honeymoon. It was an amazing trip, more than we could've hoped for. The accommodations were terrific, surrounded by beautiful views. Service was second to none. Jorge took care of us on the beach better than anyone!

Wow!

We are forever spoiled. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special (thank you, Sergio at the front desk). From Eduardo and Carlos who served us tirelessly on the beach to Luis at The Grill whose menu suggestions led to a few of the best meals we've ever had, this resort pulls out all the stops. Nightly entertainment was top notch. Be mindful, the clientele is young and it can get a bit loud at the pool, and they host are a ton of weddings which bring their own brand of party hoopla, so if you're retired and are looking for a very quiet getaway, this is probably not the place for you.

My favorite resort chain has gone down in quality

It's our 4th time at Paradisus resort and 2nd at Paradisus La Perla. Unfortunately, this trip was not as enjoyable as the last time, since the service has degraded. Here are some observation with pros and cons: Cons: ⁃ Towel card system: 1 towel per person. Before it was unlimited for everyone, now only royal services can have unlimited amount of towels ⁃ There is $5 fee for each room service request (something new again)⁃ Breakfast and lunch buffet is good, but there is zero variety from day to day. As the result the lack of daily variety gets tiresome by the end of vacation ⁃ Basic buffet: no shrimps or other seafood, with little food variety ⁃ Drinks are seriously watered down, tequila at some places is undrinkable ⁃ Serious shortage of drink straws, as ridiculous as it may sound ⁃ This trip was our wedding anniversary trip (called and emailed with questions in advance to let them know – as usual my email was ignored, had to call them), I am aware that the hotel might be fully booked and that it was impossible to upgrade us, but at least a note or bottle of champagne or at least some acknowledgement in the room or during our entire stay would be nice and appropriate. Considering the fact that our wedding a year ago was at Paradisus Punta Cana. Most hotels would be delighted to welcome their returning customers, and would try to make them happy in the hopes of building up loyalty, I guess not Paradisus La Perla⁃ Last trip during the days when they were busy, hotel build an extra bar by the pool to reduce the stress and the wait time from the main pool bar, not this time around⁃ On most days some parts of the pool was very dirty ⁃ Restaurant reservation systems is though as at most Paradisus hotels unless you stay at Royal Service ⁃ Spotty Wi-Fi, sometimes unable to connect at allPros:⁃ Good food by the pool bar, our favorites were: Cesar burrito, fresh guacamole, ceviche and nachos.⁃ We especially enjoyed dinners at Fuego and Vento restaurants. Dinner at La Palapa was tasty as well, unfortunately it was way too long since most of that time we had to wait for our food ⁃ Rooms are nice, clean and modern, but 2 out of 3 rooms in our group had 2 beds in their room. Which is weird for adults only resorts where mostly couples stay Overall, I enjoyed Paradisus, had a great wedding at Paradisus Punta Cana. But next time I am probably going to stay at different resort.

This was a nice resort, very clean with great service. We did the royal which opened up so new experiences for us. The food was excellent. They lack on entertainment and the beach area is ok but the ocean is very rocky with seaweed.
