Our Opinion

The Paradisus la Perla is a great adults-only resort that boasts amazing views. Situated within the corners of Playa del Carmen's resort strip, the resort possesses some of the best views of the beach. There are also plenty of restaurant options available, staffed with attentive and helpful staff and serving one of a kind cuisine that is beyond the usual resort dining experience. There are plenty of swim-up suites available within the resort. This is a perfect destination for couples, weddings, and honeymoons.

Great experience

We had our 6 day all inclusive vacation here recently and we loved our experience, the hotel was top notch and the service was great. Restaurants were amazing and lots of choices and the night life was fun. I would say they kept the pools way to cold for usage and everyone complained about that but over all I would highly recommend this resort

Relaxing Stay

Overall the stay here was good. I didn't like not being able to see the ocean from the pool and there is about 50 yards of protected mangroves between the two but I also knew that going into my stay there. I didn't disclose that to by boyfriend and he was disappointed about it. The food was just okay, nothing spectacular. My boyfriend got several dishes he did not like for lunch and dinner. The hibachi grill was fantastic though, the best meal we ate there. Breakfast was also really good. The room was nice but the bathroom was half taken up by a giant tub and made it hard to move around. I personally wont ever take a bath at a hotel but if you do, it would be great for you. The staff are nice and helpful. Pool was beautiful and we never had a problem grabbing a spot by the pool. They also have these little huts around the pool that are like little beds that were awesome. Overall nice relaxing stay but I don't know if I would return.

Decadent and spoiled

We needed to get away and relax. Our "butler" took care of all of the logistics while we enjoyed the amenities. The spa was outstanding. We had two couples massages and one reflexology massage. I spent one day sleeping under the cabana under the guise of reading. Food was good, especially at the Italian restaurant. Service impeccable. Property was almost full so we didn't get a room upgrade, but our junior suite was very nice with tubs both inside and on the balcony. Liked that it was truly all inclusive and all we paid extra for were the spa services. A bottle of chilled wine was delivered daily. We never left the hotel complex. My only complaint is our trip was too short! This was our first stay at a Paradisus resort, but it won't be our last and we found the butler service to be well worth the extra cost.

"I died and went to Heaven!"

“I died and went to Heaven!”Our trip to Playa del Carmen and our stay at the hotel Paradisus was one of the best trips ever!I was a little reluctant to go away on a holiday as my work is extremely busy. My husband took a chance and booked a 14-day stay in Playa del Carmen and at the hotel Paradisus at the end of February and I am so glad he did. Let me tell you, the day we had to come home I was crying because I didn’t want to leave. Hotel – The hotel Paradisus is beautiful. The staff were so friendly and treated us like royalty. The hotel has a clean modern look and feel, but it is also luxurious and feels like a palace. I loved all the fish and turtles in the hotel water. Very, very clean! Rooms – The rooms were elegant and our service was outstanding! What a treat to have a bathtub! Every night, there was chocolate and it was bed ready for all guests. The rooms were very clean and our staff were so attentive to our needs. They would always follow up with us to make sure we were comfortable and to check whether we needed anything. Mini bar always stocked and included with your stay.Gym – I need a good gym. I like to have my cake and eat it too! They have excellent cardio and weight equipment! Entertainment – Unbelievable! The shows are definitely worth staying for and they ranked very high in my books. My favorites were the guys that sounded like El Divo and Diva night! The only down side was that the performances were in a smaller room than usual, but that is only a minor complaint because the performances were amazing, and I am told that the shows are normally in a bigger room! The singing was so professional and really high quality! You could tell that the entertainers loved to perform for the guests. Bar Staff – Efficient and very friendly. They also mentioned, to my husband and me, how much they loved working for the hotel. How great is that? Everyone seemed genuinely happy and they went out of their way to take care of us.Beach staff – Were on top of it! They remembered our favorite drinks! Always smiling, attentive and friendly.Restaurants – Some of the best meals I’ve ever had! Dinner at the Market is a must. The staff are so friendly and considerate. They completely pampered us. The servers always remembered our names, and our hosts, Cindy and Jennifer, were always smiling and so happy to see us. It was such a pleasure to dine every night. The chef – Jonathan Otey - omg! Thank you for taking care of us. It is obvious that you take pride in what you do! The lobster dinner was outstanding and very reasonably priced. I have to admit I had it every day. The lobster was fresh and delicious. The vegetables were roasted and had this special seasoning that kept you wanting more. I looked forward to my lobster every day after our day at the beach—it was that good! This meal was very healthy and worth every dime! My husband chose to have the meat that the waiters presented to your table by skewers. The meat was also delicious and you could have as much as you wanted. We were presented with parmesan chicken, Thai chicken, flank steak, prime rib and more! Everything tasted so good! I have never tasted food like this – ever!! Service – Gerado Moren and Aron, who were our servers, were unbelievable! Both my husband and I got to know them and they are really, really great people! Trust me - you will be looked after. All the wait staff were exceptional and we were treated so well! I have never in my life experienced such excellent service. Our servers knew what we liked to drink without us asking – we were regulars. They remembered little things like no ice for me and two diet Cokes for my hubby! There was no waiting around. We felt special and completely taken care of. The atmosphere was so peaceful and awe inspiring!General Manager – Hector Gallegos - you need to know how great you and your staff are! Everyone seemed to be treated well and your staff are always smiling and making sure that guests were well looked after. The energy in the room was very positive. All your staff are professional and such great people! This says a lot about you, the boss – I believe it trickles down to the bottom. You and your staff, made a positive impact in my life. Remembering people’s names, always smiling and saying ‘hello, so good to see you!’ made me aware of how the little things like these can affect people in a positive way. I guess that is why we kept coming back there for dinner. You went that extra mile – and we, fingers crossed – will be back in two months! This was such an amazing trip. We were so pampered and well taken care of. I left with a very big lesson that I will apply to my work. Never underestimate the power of the simple things. The staff at the Paradisus were such a great team and their customer service was impeccable. They remembered your name and all your preferences. This was more than just a job to them; they really took an interest in us and made us feel special. Everyone was happy, positive, smiling and always happy to see guests. The way we were treated makes me remember that the way we interact with others has the power to affect their lives. Simple things like smiling can really change someone’s day for the better. Happiness is contagious. The outstanding experience we had made me aware how I need to step up my game with my own job. I feel that taking the time and making the effort to go that extra mile will give me an opportunity to make people feel special working with me. We certainly felt special during our stay. Our experience at the Paradisus was truly exceptional. I can’t say enough positive things about our hotel and the staff. We will definitely be repeat customers. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Nice amenities but poor food.

Nice resort as far as amenities go but very disappointed in the food variety and quality. Being an American in this hotel I was thinking we would get a nice variety of food however the kids in our group had a difficult time finding food that was tasty.
