Fun week of spoiling.

Our master suite swim up was amazing. Bars and random food was amazing. We mainly ate at the buffet, Naos, and everyone loved it. The pool was great. The beach was sub-par.The nagging to join club Melia was annoying. The maids, servers, and bartenders were all great. The system of making reservations on the first day and it being a pain to change them was dumb, so we ended up just going the buffet and market without reservations. The Market is a really I Brazilian steakhouse.

Visit to Playa del Carmen - August 2017

People are extremely attentive, a lot of restaurant options, night entertainment is good, great spa. Overall staff really care for my family and I. Love the separation between adults and kids. Great hotel and pricing is fair.

Fun in the sun

Had a great time the staff could not have been more friendly. The only - is i wish they had some fans to move the air around to make it more comfortable. Other than that had a great time. Pool bartenders were great my mom love the water exercises.

Paradisus La Esmeralda Family Concierge = Spoiled Family :)

The shout outs to awesome service are by far most important:Juan at the family swim up pool bar was our best friend all week! What a great attitude and neat personality. Within 30min he had my and my wife's drink preferences down to a tee.Unfortunately we only met Demetrio at the pool deck of the Family Concierge pool until the last day ... he kept our iced water bucket full and was on the spot with ice cream and adult drinks almost on queue (in hindsight a few more days of Demetrio's service would have been the icing on the cake). Our kids enjoyed hanging out in the room and venturing out for food at the lounge, Olio or elsewhere as they pleased. Pair this with in room game systems (XBOX 360 for most of the trip, Wii finally available last day) ... and the adults got to go on some dates (met some cool folks from TX and SC - what what Chichen Itza bus ride back! La Perla entertainment was more energetic than La Esmeralda by far (Activities personnel in La Esmeralda were disappointing to say the least - no energy). Esteban (La Perla) taught my uncoordinated self some salsa moves and kept the DJ part of night shows lively (Divas Rocked! and the Michael Jackson show provided memories :) ). Need more Esteban type energy on the La Esmeralda side!Janet was our Family Concierge butler and helped non stop with reservations, kids cookie requests, checkout service and everything in between. If she got tired of my What's App messages, it didn't show!We never met Antonia (our housekeeping lead) face to face, but our room was always tip top and her and the housekeeping, turn down, mini-bar and room service team were always Johnny on the Spot!Summary:Loved it! Good value! Completely spoiled!Luggage service and check in on day one was delayed by about an hour past the posted time ... but the service along the way more than made up for it. In the end, it was even hard to find a complaint in the checkout and baggage pickup, less it was at 3am and the end of our trip (but then again that's Dad's fault for going cheap with an early flight, and a family whomp whomp :) ).I've been checking rates for a return trip and recommend this resort to families with children, younger and older, who want to be spoiled and enjoy the charm of the Mexican-Quintana Roo-Caribean area.

Wonderful hotel and amazing people

Traveled here with my family (2 adults / 3 kids). We had 2 rooms next to each other on the 2nd floor - very nice rooms, cleaned perfectly everyday. Didn't have family concierge or a swim up suite and although they looked nice what we had was more than adequate. The first and most important thing about this hotel is the staff, from arrival to departure everyone is so nice and friendly, they really make you feel welcome. Would recommend Mole as a restaurant choice in the evenings - we ate there 2 or 3 times - looked after very well each night but especially by Fernando. The Market is excellent too. Ate at Olio and Vento - all really good. Breakfast in Naos is busy but always very good. The pool area is amazing but you do have to get up early if you want a cabana! Everyone looks after you but a really special mention for Anallely - there can be no one who works harder and no one who is as nice to all her guests as her - she is so good and a real credit to the hotel, we cannot thank her enough for looking after us most days. Shame about the seaweed on the beach but the pool is so good its not a concern. Overall a great place.
