Great time.

I was with a large group of people who won the trip through work. Circle K. I was a plus one and was happy to be a plus one. We got to the resort late due to flight issues, but we still had Transportation waiting for us to take us to the resort. After a short trip we were greeted and taken to the check-in counter where they gave us a nice tropical drink and help us get checked in. The room keys are nice, its a bracelet that you wear and that is how you get in your room. Though I I was kind of shocked that if you lose the bracelet it is $95 a day, not sure why. But they took our bags to our rooms for us and help us get settled in. The room was fantastic. We had a view of the ocean and one of the swimming pools below us. Two queen-size beds, a large rainforest shower, and a jacuzzi tub with curtains to close off from the other people in the room. Out on our balcony we had another large jacuzzi tub, which was our hot tub so we were okay with that. Next day was our first full day there and it was a blast. About 16 of us set up by the main pool and drank all day. We had several different waiters and they were all very nice and courteous and got us our beverages as quickly as they could. One of the best parts about hanging out by the pool was Cindy, part of the vibe team that was out by The Resort pools. They would go around to make sure their guests are entertained. All of us loved Cindy, she brought Connect 4 and challenged us. We lost one of us jumped in the pool, she lost she jumped in the pool. And it was kind of chilly in that pool so congrats to her for jumping in. She came by almost daily and saw us and made sure we were having fun and let us know what activities were going on that day. We really loved her. For the food you had several choices. From the Japanese restaurant to Mediterranean to Italian to just a buffet. The buffet was the best place for breakfast. You can have omelets made, Crepes made, eggs how you like them. There was so much to choose from it was almost overwhelming at times. The Hunter Steakhouse was just okay. The steak was good but it wasn't a very big serving and the side dishes there were not many to choose from. Zen the Japanese restaurant was fantastic. We all loved it, and they only have one menu. You don't even get a menu eat what they give you LOL. But that is okay because it was great food. Now the Italian restaurant, not so good. The appetizers were fantastic but our actual meals were not. The chicken alfredo was almost like chicken noodle soup. The lasagna was not good. And I had the penne pasta with bacon and the noodles just seem too rubbery. But their pizza, and a brick oven, was again wonderful. All the pools were beautiful unfortunately the weather was a little too cool for us to jump in very often. The beach was also beautiful with plenty of seating for everybody as well as a bar there for people who needed drinks. Along the walkways were hammocks for people to just lay in and relax. There was also entertainment every night. From a DJ to live music to a fire show to a casino night. There was something to do every night by the main pool. You could sit there relax and just watch or you could participate. Overall it was a great experience and I was happy I was able to go.

2nd Visit....There Will Be A Third

We were at this resort Jan 2018 for the second time. It was about a year since our first visit so there was some concern that quality would have dropped, but it didn't at all. We've been to a lot of all inclusive resorts because it's an easy way to vacation with our kids and this one still stands out.The grounds are great, rooms very nice, restaurants quite good, I would say a step or two above other options in the same category. But what really sets this place apart is the service, it is exceptional! To receive this level of service at an all inclusive is hard to find.We prefer an a la carte breakfast instead of the buffet so we visited the Caribean Restaurant overlooking the beach daily for breakfast and the service was impeccable each time. You feel that they genuinely want to get you anything you desire. This was the case with all the a la carte restaurants we went to (we ate at them all) with Daniel in the Italian one even taking it one step above to make for a special dinner. They have a great number of people serving drinks at the pools so if you don't want to you never have to get your own and your glass won't be empty if you choose. They were all great, I wish I could remember more names but Ramiro by the family pool stands out to the point I saw his manager and went out of my way to mention his work ethic.I use fitness facilities or classes daily and it's nice to go someplace where this isn't an after thought. Well thought our classes taught by professionals and great facilities for a wide range of workouts you may want to do. The staff their deserve credit for running things the way they do.This is the first place we feel it is easy to recommend to others, and had some family join us for this trip and they were pleasantly surprised by everything offered. There really isn't a single thing which stands out that was a problem for us, but the quality of the resort and service definitely stand out as things which put it over the top for our group ranging from 3 to 70 years old.

Nice to look at .... don’t visit

I have been traveling to Cancun for many years . This place is modern and pretty . That’s wear it stops . The staff borderlines rude . Can’t seem to get what u need . Never heard of a place without wash cloths . Never had our room cleaned the first day . No turn down service . We wait hours to eat at the restaurants . The good is ok . Not good or great . The proportions r very small . Watch the chicken it often is not all the cooked . Always read the reviews . Picture can be altered

Great Place for a Family Vacation!

This was our first time at an all-inclusive resort and the Royalton Cancun has set the bar high for us! We had a great week at this resort, so much so that we only went on one full day excursion, because we didn't want to leave the resort! We figured, we would be back to see more of the area. We arrived later than scheduled, so we had to rush through check in to make it to the buffet before closing. But everyone was helpful and incredibly friendly when we arrived. We did the Diamond Club, which we are very happy about because we got a fabulous room upgrade (rooftop hot tub!) and very helpful butlers that helped us anytime we needed extra help. Room: DC Luxury Family Suite which was perfect for our family of four. Warning: the pull out couch is fine for a young child that doesn't weigh very much. We needed some extra padding for our son, and then eventually they brought in a roll away bed which was more comfortable. We were first put into building #3, facing the main restaurant & pool area, which was lovely but it's VERY LOUD at night. They say that music ends at 10:30/11:00 which is true for the main entertainment at the pool area, however the sports bar stays open virtually all night, with loud music, which we heard all night! So we were moved to a much quieter building #3, facing the Diamond Club pool. Great & large shower, double sink vanity and weirdly-located bathtub in the bathroom. Separate toilet room, which is perfect. Resort: Beautiful. Grounds, pools, beach area, everything is kept very well and clean. There are 4 pool areas, one main area, one more for younger kids, one for Diamond Club (families) and Hideaway (adults). There is a separate Diamond Club area on the beach as well, where the butlers wander around to make sure all their guests are being taken care of. Beach: The service at the beach was incredible. Towels, drinks, food, anything we wanted we could get. Rodiver, Mauricio, Ezekiel, Jairo, Jonathan, Miguel & Enrique made sure we were well taken care of from morning to sun down! Nice guys, and just wanted to make sure you are happy! There is a hut at the beach where you can get paddle boards, kayaks, small sail boats during the day. You can also sign up for excursions at this hut and at other places in the resort. There is also soccer, volleyball and other activities including yoga at the beach almost every day. If you want to be busy, there is always something going on!Also, there are photographers dressed in white walking around the beach during the day. Be sure to stop them to take pictures of your family. I can't believe how great some of the pictures were! There is no commitment to buying the photos but we were very impressed with how amazing some of the pictures were of our family. It ended up costing about $20 per picture that we purchased, but you buy only what you want. Pools: They looked great! But we stayed at the beach. Lots of lounge chairs and cabanas everywhere. Umbrellas for shade too. The only time we went into a pool was for the foam party! So much fun! a must do at least once during your stay. My only warning: Make sure you hold on to your small children during the foam party!Diamond Club: The Butlers were great. In building 3 we had Carlos, and then in building 6 also Carlos and Katarina. All of them were great. They made dinner reservations for us, managed the conversation with our neighbours that had screaming children way to early in the morning and answered any random questions we had. Food: Overall the food is good. The buffet is incredible. Breakfast was the highlight of my day, full of everything you can possibly want for breakfast or lunch. Incredible fresh fruit, fresh juices, vegetables, pancakes, waffles, eggs of any kind, breakfast tacos, pastries, cereals, guacamole, etc etc. We generally had lunch at the beach. There is a different menu at each section of the beach. We were very happy with the lunch from Armadillo/Tex-Mex restaurant by our beach. We ate dinner at 4 different restaurants, our favourite was the Teppanyaki at Zen, which was fun and quite tasty. The other restaurants were really just OK. Nothing wowed us anywhere. OK the onion bread at Hunter was really good. But I can't think of another dish that excited us. We ordered room service every night for the kids. They loved the brownies! Beware, room service could take an hour or more to arrive. The coffee shop serves good coffee, ice cream and incredible pastries and cookies. There are line ups for the cookies in the afternoon! The Gym: We didn't use the spa, but the gym was AMAZING. Every possible equipment you can need/want and they offer classes all day. Hospitality Rooms: If you have a flight out of Cancun later in the day and you can't get a late check out, you can get a hospitality suite for your family for 30-45 minutes. It's big, clean and has a nice shower where you can get cleaned up before you travel. Some critiques:Diamond Club: the check-in/lounge area for DC is in a weird place in the lobby area. There would be no reason to go there besides checking in or changing rooms. I'm not sure if it's because we arrived late and the butlers are not walking around the buildings, but we were not given a proper introduction to our butlers NOR were we given a good explanation of what they can do for us. We have heard varying stories of what is included in DC and not. It is not clear. Also, we were there over New Year's. There was a Diamond Club "gala" which was really quite boring. We left and joined the 'regular' Royalton party at the main pool area, which was a BLAST, such a great party! Lesson learned: the DC events are quite lame! I'm not sure who enjoys them, but they were not for us!For some reason, the kids don't get a wristband that can get them into the room, they have to carry around a key card. This makes absolutely no sense to me, especially at a place where there is nothing to "charge" to the room. I recommend having wristbands available to the kids, if they are old enough, based on parents' approval. The kids club age ranges are weird. Our 12 year old had no interest in going to the kids club with 5 year olds... we had to sign a release form to allow her to join her brother at the teen club.
