Quality resort which beats others so far

This was our fourth visit to the greater cancun area having stayed at the le blanc spa resort, el dorado seaside suites and another secrets resort (the vine) on consecutive years and maroma beach is by far the best. The layout of the resort means you can find some actives and some quiet as you please which is important to us. The staff are more than committed to delivering excellence at all times you just need to watch how everyone interacts and supports each other like a family to ensure you have the best holiday experience possible. The entertainment team are a real asset to the resort and we enjoyed spending time with them personally and during the numerous activities they organise, everyone was great but a special mention to our favourites Caesar and Emma.As above we have spent time in cancun and experience some great resorts but do yourself a favour book maroma beach and you will not be disappointed. Thanks to all at secrets maroma beach for a fantastic vacationRegards Billy & Roz

More Than a Vacation

Our purpose for this vacation was to relax and retreat from our busy lives for one week. Secrets Maroma was the paradise we were looking for. The property is beautiful, well maintained, and perfectly appointed to please all guests. Yes, we were greeted with champagne and scented cold towels at check in, but that was just the beginning of the Royal treatment! We are in the hospitality business so service, excellent food, and building relationships so clients feel appreciated and special are imperative to soothing our weary souls as we do this for others. The staff at Secrets Maroma exceeded our expectations. Antonio, the manager, of Portofinos invited us to partake in a specially created menu by him two times. He remembered us from our last two visits at Secrets Capri. The first was a fusion menu of the French and Italian. The overall experience will be an unforgettable memory as the beautiful presentation, service and outstanding foods made our taste buds call the chef to our table for our personal applause! The second started with a large platter of sushi and it was beyond words. Sizzling Salt blocks were brought to the table with flank steak and fillet mignon. A delectable experience that was a new experience for us.I would like to thank Antonio, our waiter, and chef. You made our vacation a relaxing retreat that inspired us to go back into our busy lives and be even more attentive to our clients. Thanks for more than a vacation! For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. - Psalms 36:9You were a blessing to our family.

Luxury and Romance!

My husband and I stayed from 8/11-8/16. We are private people and were celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary. This property was perfect for that, but we also witnessed people in the swim up bar whooping it up playing black jack and bingo. It's a beautifully maintained, versatile property with lots of opportunities to fashion the vacation to your taste.ROOMWe stayed in 1216 which is on the left side closest to the lobby. It was not a refurbished room but it was still romantic with lovely soft lighting and a comfortable, firm bed with extra pillows. They had robes and slippers on the bed for us and two wood-door closets with luxury wooden hangers, a steamer, ironing board, and laundry bag. The bathroom has frosted glass doors for the toilet and shower. As others have said, it is a little voyeuristic. We had a swim-out room which we would recommend for people seeking an ultra-private experience. There were maybe three times when another couple was using the pool. They provide these blue pool floaties in a little rack off the side of the pool.BEACHWe got there right after a tropical storm had swept through so there was a lot of seaweed but the property maintenance was diligent in removal, trading between a beach sweeper and manual laborers with a cart and metal rake. It was cloudy but still warm and lots of easy walking with little to no rocks or seaweed on the bottom. They had two spots blocked off protecting turtle nests on the beach. Marina, the beach service lady was AWESOME. She was extremely proactive and had an enormous smile on her face the entire day. Great lady, bring tip money for her specifically.FOODSkip the steak at the steak house. TRUST ME. The vegetable dishes and fish dishes anywhere are amazing. Fill up on omelette at the breakfast buffet. Room service takes a while but is the most delicious on the property. Himitsu teppanyaki was good minus the sushi. Yikes. Pizza cart for lunch was delicious, Luis was hilarious.BARS/DRINKSWe tried a big assortment of drinks. They offer a mezcal shot with spiced chile orange slice for the mellow (yummy and potent). They have a "drink of the day" which was usually really strong. We had a few frozen drinks, the best being a spicy mango margarita with actual fruit blended in. Wide selection of beers, modelo, pacifico, coronitas (in the mini fridge in the room also), dos equis and bud light. Wine was meh. They had 2016 vintages of cab, merlot, and sauv blanc. Thanks SMBRC. We love you guys!

Blissful relaxation

We decided to head to this place last minute after getting recommendations from friends and we weren't disappointed. We were a little unlucky with the weather but regardless the hotel staff and service was flawless, consistent and all activities were made available as advertised everyday in alternative ways or swapped for other lovely activities. On the days we had glorious sunshine there was always a very comfortable space by the quiet, super clean and spacious pool. The midday service of getting our sun glassess cleaned was great, the swim up bar staff were very accommodating (even in the rain!) and the proximity to an assortment of food was perfect. As for the beach well, WOW! Well kept, well protected and simply gorgeous. Then there's the food... just superb! We preferred the outdoor restaurants and the Japanese restaurant but all the food was simply excellent. Room service is as expected (little soggy and cold on arrival) but not a big issue. Heading out of the room was always worth it.The rooms are so comfortable, large, sea facing, air conditioned, well stocked (the housekeeping team are very flexible) and the onsite gym is the best I've come across in a hotel with all the equipment and space on offer. BE prepared for the tinted glass door to the WC and odd hole/handle in the door too...! Oh and the in-room jacuzzi definitely couldn't fit two adults comfortably, but for one its great as you can watch a movie whilst in the bubbles!Watch out for the hotel team trying to sit you down to sell you things and admittedly we never found out what the welcome gift was as we were too busy getting into enjoying our holiday; an excellent few days!
