The Hideaway At Royalton Riviera Cancun

We were a party of 5, celebrating a 30th birthday. Two of our friends we went with had stayed at a Royalton before in Dominican Republic. They had made their reservations 6 months prior to us when a friend of mine and my daughter decided to book so we could celebrate their 30th birthday and also call it a girls trip. When I booked I didn't realize our friends had booked diamond club. I booked our reservation thru expedia, so now I wanted to upgrade to diamond club, I had to do it thru the resort. A nice young lady name Karla Rojas saved the day and helped us figure it all out. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left I can't think of one disappointment or complaint. We had a butler, he was awesome, made our trip so much fun. His name was Arturo. You should know you will have 2 butler's, a day butler and a night butler. If you want your butler to make reservations for you, you have to let your butler know before 2:00 usually the day before, if you wait till the day of, you are out of luck, restaurants will be full. If I had to do it over again, I would have the butler make all our dining reservations when you first arrive. If you want any special alcohol or mixers for your room, ask your butler. I felt sorry for the butlers as they had to wear these ridiculous white long sleeve shirts with a tie, which we all thought was unnecessary in the heat they have down there. It was so hot out, I wanted to put them in a cooler shirt as they looked miserable. The rooms are big and spacious, the shower is huge. We had 2 queen beds and there were 3 of us girls in the room, we had plenty of space. Something that I thought was nice, you wore a bracelet to get in your room, no key card needed. I hope all resorts go to bracelets. I read where others thought the resort was too big. It's not that much bigger than other resorts I've stayed at in Cancun. The adults only side is on one end of the resort, we loved it. As diamond club members we could go all over the resort to eat, go to shows, shop etc. If a person wants to stay on the diamond club end, there is no reason you have to leave there unless you want to. We ate several time's at a restaurant called, Dorado. We had the best food and the staff there was amazing. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there. It's very close and convenient. We hung out at their smaller swim up bar that's opposite the larger pool. We had a bartender named Julio. I think we tried every drink he knew how to make. He showed us a wonderful time, we took care of him as well. If you want to be closer to Cancun or Rivera Maya, you might want to pick somewhere else to stay if this is important to you. This resort is all by itself, no other resort even close. We were having so much fun and enjoying ourselves we didn't care. We were only there for 4 nights so we hadn't planned on leaving.Yes, there was sea weed on the beach, big deal. They keep it cleaned up much as possible. Sandra will set up your umbrella and chairs at the beach. She works really hard dragging around these heavy umbrellas. Eric De Jesus was wonderful as well, he was our cocktail server. These people run back and forth from your location to the beach bar a million times a day. We tipped everyone consistently thru out our stay. The buffet was the largest I've ever seen. You name it, they made it. They also have shopping, and a coffee shop that we went to every morning, it was really good. Offered all kinds of coffee and shakes. I don't think we stayed long enough to get the real feel of the resort and all the amenities it offered. For us, I'm glad we upgraded to Diamond Club thanks for the help from Karla Rojas. It was well worth it to us. We weren't crazy about being around screaming little kids on a short adult get away.Everyone has mentioned the gym!!! I packed gym clothes and never went. It has everything you would ever want or need. I've been to Cancun many times over the years, this resort by far has the best customer service, many outstanding restaurants to choose from. I wish everyone could visit this resort to experience how nice and friendly everyone is, quite remarkable. I wish we'd stayed longer than 4 nights. Our group is trying to figure out how we can go back again.
My wife and I stayed here 7/12-7/18 and were surprised by the fact that this was not a separate hotel. We have been to several other resorts that had a family portion and an Adults portion but they were completely separated. The website needs to advise people of this. This resort needs more Adults only restaurants. Most of the restaurants were kid friendly and not what we were expecting. Having to eat with screaming kids is not my idea of an Adults Only Vacation. The wait staff was not very attentive to our needs. Most of the time we had to ask for drink refills, ask for straws, napkins, utensils, etc. in order to enjoy our food. The food was average (except Hunter, food was great there). I would advise against signing up for the beach dinners. Even if you get there on time, the food you are supposed to get is not available. There was hardly any nightlife at this hotel as we are accustomed to at other resorts we visited. We got a massage at the spa and the only size robes they had were XL. They need to invest in larger size robes to accommodate all their guests. The gym offered a lot of good equipment to use.The music selection needs to be more well rounded. There was a lot of pop and latin music but no R&B and Hip-Hop. There also needs to be more Adults Only Activities on the Hideaway side.We have been to Chic Punta Cana which is another Royalton property and there is no comparing the two resorts. Chic is way better.
This is a new French cuisine below Dorado Fish restaurant. The food was excellent and in my point of view the best in the resort's 10 restaurants. Victor Martinez our waiter was brilliant. He served and sliced meats at our table. The desserts were flambé in front of us. Each process and content was explained during preparation. Excellent service with a smile. A credit to the Royalton .

Hunters wow the red snapper was fabulous!!! We so want to go back!!! Loved it!! Thank you Robb/Clay
Where to start? 5 star hotel in every sense, stylish and contemporary, friendly professional staff on hand 24/7, clean and hygienic throughout. Butler service at the beach, room service is included and available at all times, free Wi-Fi everywhere, they keep the long white sandy beach clean and clear of seaweed. We were in the Hideaway side - adults only, but went through to the other area for shows, meals, shops, etc. 10 restaurants, all excellent quality, all types of cuisine on offer - Italian, Mexican, steakhouse, specialist seafood, Tapenyaki , and more and more ! Biggest buffet style breakfast restaurant we have ever seen with all manner of foods on offer! Professional entertainment every night (NOT animation team ), acts from all over the globe perform there. From 8pm - Magicians, Acrobats, cultural dance troupes, musical shows, Mariachi band of course! Then at 10pm each evening, a band would sing popular music for around an hour. Night club of course if you still have the energy! As said earlier, we were adults side (our own beach area, bar, air-con lounge and restaurant ), but could use everything elsewhere, but in the 'other' area, kids had loads to do day and night. Everyone came together of an evening for shows of course. Great hotel, great people, great experience, highly recommended.
