Club Marival And Suites

An excellent hotel, with great amenities and service. Nice beach. Good for families and couples.
The wonderful Club Marival (right side of main photo) resort is located directly on a beautiful beach in the Nuevo Vallarta area, close to the Los Flamingos 18-hole golf course. Guests can enjoy the facilities and services of both the Club Marival and the adjacent sister hotel, the Grand Marival.
Location: Beachfront, 25 minutes to Puerto Vallarta, 15 minutes from the airport, and close to various golf courses.
We came here for a family vacation and found it very friendly, clean and well appointed. The beaches were great for the kids and there plenty of activities to keep everyone happy. Karina our concierge did a great job of making our reservations and taking care of anything we needed. A solid 4 star resort with better than average food for an all inclusive. We would go back.
Let me start by saying that this wasn't the worst experience but it wasn't the greatest either. All Inclusive package - Drinks were watered down so I stuck to drinking Corona, food was average, rooms were clean and relatively large (2 bathrooms was a plus). I felt there should have been more loungers around the pool area. The wifi was spotty (rarely worked). They have an adult pool area but kids were still in the pool. No elevators and some rooms are on the 3rd floor; luckily ours was on the first. Overall, I was grateful for the experience but will definitely pay extra for better accommodations if I were to ever return to Neuvo Vallarta.
We vacationed at Marival with some of our friends/ couples. We were very pleased upon pulling up to the Marival as it is absolutely beautiful. The views from the lobby and the grounds are amazing. Then we checked in and the nightmare began. We were escorted to a table and chairs in the lobby for what we thought was going to be a lovely greeting and explanation of the property and our all inclusive stay. WRONG! We were instead bombarded with time share sales. We were all tired and hungry from our travels and just wanted to check in and eat. We had just been through the wringer at the airport so we were definitely not prepared for this at our hotel. We were stern, yet friendly in our "no"... This only caused the gentleman to go get his "Manager" who in turn proceeds to tell us the exact same spill all over again. They are fast talkers and when you say "NO" they just talk faster and louder. This ended with us interrupting him and saying sternly "NO we just want to eat and get our rooms!". From this point they acted annoyed and less than interested in helping us. Once in our rooms we quickly realized this resort was not what they sell their-selves as and we were highly disappointed. We were put in rooms on the bottom floor which smelled like musky basements. Our room had absolutely no view of the beach unless you walked out several feet and tip toed or jumped, you could then catch a tiny glimpse. We are a couple and were given a room with two, less than full size beds. We asked to be moved and were quickly accommodated. We got a room on the 3rd level, with a balcony which did have a nice view once you were on the balcony. The smell was gone. So, things are better, right? Wrong. We go to eat and quickly find the food is bland and not one of us liked it. However, we chalked it up to just the particular restaurant. Nope. It was the resort for the most part. We had to make reservations for dinner which ended up being "full" for the most part and we got stuck with places were didn't prefer... Then once in the restaurants we find that there are plenty of empty tables. We could have eaten at any of them it appeared. The main pool where families swim and the hot tubs smelled like sewage. Like people just sat and pissed in them all day long and it had no chlorine. We thankfully found the quiet pool to be clean, with no smell and so we stayed in it. The staff for the most part was friendly. The grounds were mainly clean, except the showers in the rooms which had mold. The Shower heads were clogged up so they spray everywhere and have little pressure. You end up chasing around a stream to get your hair rinsed. The beach was nice, excluding the constant sales people every 5 seconds asking you to buy something. It was super easy to get a taxi to go anywhere... but the Marival is quite a ways from any real attractions/city.We did the City Tour on our day 3 and absolutely loved it. Our tour guide was amazing. We had a party bus. The city views are spectacular and the little Mexican restaurant they take you to is wonderful. We got to go to Mr. Tequila for the Tequila Tour and Tasting and enjoyed every moment. I highly recommend getting a resort or hotel closer to Puerto Vallarta City. It's absolutely what we would do if we ever visited again.Overall our experience was not completely ruined. It's a beautiful place. They just need to change a few things and drop the sales crap or way tone it down.
This was our third time at Marival Resort and Suites and we took our 2 adult sons for 9 nights in early June. We had a fantastic time again, just incredible rooms, delicious meals, spotlessly clean pools and facilities, lots of activities....and best of all, a feeling of coming home. The resort treats you like family. Most vacationers are local mexican families so the feeling is authentic. The Concierge staff Mariette, Jazmin, Gabino and Carlos are just wonderful and caring people and have become good friends. Alfredo in La Bamba restaurant always remembered our names. Plan to be there for Mexican fiesta, held every Tues night and the Beach party (dancing by torchlight at ocean's edge) every Thursday. The smaller, intimate feel of the resort adds to the charm and comfort. Everyone we met was highly skilled in their talents and people skills. Our sailing outing was led by a sailor with decades of regatta racing experience. Our 2 young adult sons had lots to do by themselves and yet we had so much fun family time. I almost don't like raving about Marival as I want it for myself!! :). Tips: see the shows, take the free yoga classes, go to the included speciality restaurants (go early and see the 9 pm shows)....don't just stay by the many pools as tempting as they are. Truly unforgettable experience.
My husband and I just got married May 6th of 2017 at Marival Resports and could not express how wonderful everything went! I was quite nervous about planning a wedding from so far away, CO, however, Rosy (our WONDERFUL wedding planner) did an amazing job on everything! From the flowers I wanted to the chalkboard signs I wanted and had sent her from Pinterest...everything was perfect! All of our guests (85) had a fantastic time as well...the staff were all so great. Also I recommend their photographer, Anibel, he is AWESOME! His helpers and he did a spectacular job on our photos and was also so much fun to work with!! Would recommend this place for anyone considering having a destination wedding in Nuevo Vallarta! BEST DAY EVER <3
