Wouldn't stay here again

We were at this resort for 7 days and it was by far the worst resort i have ever visited. They practically ignore their non-member guest except to constantly try to push time share. My wife and i said we were not interested in time share up front and that seemed to make us less important. They even have signs that say members first. Additionally, there was very little to do in the evenings and the food was average given it is supposed to be 5 stars. I would definately not recommend staying at this resort.

Wonderful Stay-Excellent food and Service

Came to Marival for the wedding of my friend. We stayed 4 nights and 5 days. The staff here is excellent and very friendly--always good service. The food for breakfast and dinner is very good--lunch offers plentiful amounts of varied selections. If you want a truly wonderful experience eat dinner at the restaurant Amalfi -right on site. The manager Luigi is a true professional. Friendly and engaging with an amazing focus on the details of managing a high end restaurant. More than a maître d, Luigi attends to all the guests making each one feel special. The food is excellent with very interesting specials each night. If you can, be sure to ask for Jose Garcia for your waiter. He and his staff will truly amaze you with their friendly service and attention to detail. Wonderful ambience, fantastic food, over the top service--you'd swear you were at a 5 Star restaurant in New York City! The only negative to our stay was the high pressure Time Share push at check in. The best way to get thru this is to say "No" quickly, get your wrist band and keys and head to your room. Don't let it ruin your stay.

Fantastic and relaxing get-away!!!

I stayed @ Marival Resort & Suites from April 29-May 6th together with my 2 sisters. We were gold members for the week. Our trip was absolutely fun and relaxing due to our pool server (Abraham Ramos) was great! He works very hard with a smile and pleasant to everyone. He took time to joke with us even though his English is limited. He kept the pool clean and make sure we never run out of drinks.

Great For Families

We just got back from spending 2 weeks at the marival resort and suites. We were so impressed with the resort! We were travelling with our boys ages 14, 12, 11 and 9. There was a lot for them to do there and Ricardo from the animation group was amazing to them. He made sure they knew about all the activities and about the shows. He even came and got them from the pool one morning for a bike ride. The boys loved him!The arcade was a huge hit, and the boys played hours of ping pong while we watched in the evening from the little lounge. It was a great way to relax every night. They make great lemon drop martini's!The food exceeded our expectations. We stuck with Casa Bella mostly and Rene was a top notch server. He was always there to greet us and certainly went above and beyond. The beach was excellent and the quiet pool was great. The bartenders there never seemed to get tired of the kids with their virgin drink requests. And there were a lot of them. The family suite was perfect for us all with two balconies and three bathrooms. We had a view of the ocean and it was close to everything. We were in building 6 and it was amazing!Overall I would highly recommend this resort to anyone going as a family. It was an amazing experience!

Great for family & delicious food!

We stayed at Marival from April 27th to May 4th 2017 together with my husband and my 1.5 year old daughter. Overall we had a great time, my daughter enjoyed it and we loved the food! In a nutshell here are my pros & cons regarding the resort.PROS: - Beautiful newly renovated rooms, our view was facing the European games so it was nice and quiet with a decent view of the water. Good sized room and they even provided a crib for my little one!- Most importantly, the food was delicious! Every restaurant and Buffet we went to, we weren't disappointed. The Restaurants are nice and classy, the outdoor resto was our favourite overlooking the ocean at sunset. My husband loved the stone-baked pizza station and my daughter loved the gelato stations! :)- Great entertainment and games during the day and even better at night! The animation team is awesome! They put up such great shows every night! My daughter had so much fun dancing.- Lots of free in-resort activities (most of them are free!!)- Decent kid pool section with water slides. - Staff are super nice and very accommodating to kids.- Room cleaning twice daily.- Weather wise, it's very windy but still hot. It didn't rain at all during our stay! Not many people swim in the ocean because the waves are fairly strong. The water is darker and browner so don't expect a perfect postcard picture by the sea! Gorgeous sunsets though!CONS:- Long waiting line at the front desk, waited about 30 mins to get our keys.- Biggest turn off!!! Very pushy with time-share and I heard they are also very pushy on making you buy condos there. A real bugger too! The lady called us at 8am to remind us to go to the conference at 1030, then called again at 9 and at 10 when we finally got annoyed and cancelled. They were pushy about it till our last day. DONT AGREE TO GO!- Lots of locals during the weekend. We didn't mind them because they were super nice people but they took over all the lounge chairs and often cuts off the lines at the buffet. No priorities to tourists. - Room cleaning was okay but we weren't messy so it remained clean anyway.Overall, we highly recommend this resort for vacation with family and friends but not as a couple.
