An excellent hotel, with great amenities and service. Nice beach. Good for families and couples.
The wonderful Club Marival (right side of main photo) resort is located directly on a beautiful beach in the Nuevo Vallarta area, close to the Los Flamingos 18-hole golf course. Guests can enjoy the facilities and services of both the Club Marival and the adjacent sister hotel, the Grand Marival.
Location: Beachfront, 25 minutes to Puerto Vallarta, 15 minutes from the airport, and close to various golf courses.
We were very happy with our stay. We went with a large group of about 25 and stayed here for a week. The food was absolutely incredible. Lunch by the poolside was outstanding with the highlight being the seared ahi. I had this almost every day. The tapas bar was so much fun with a wide variety of delicious small plates including many different kinds of fish and rack of lamb. We had an outstanding stay and the only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that there wasn't much of a night life at the hotel. Overall we had a great time and would happily visit marival again.
We moved to this resort after staying in Puerto Vallarta for one week. The resort itself is pretty big but it had a cozy feel. Our room was very nice. We had a view of the hotel next to us which was fine because it was very quiet and private. the rooms are very nice and upgraded. The closet had lots of space to store all of our things. We stayed by the adult pool most of the time. The family pool was always hopping with activities and music throughout the day. Because we have no kids the quiet of the adult pool was just right. The adult pool is also located next to one of the snack bars and bar so getting some food and a drink was no problem. The beach was great. There are lots of chairs and umbrellas to sit under. There are VIP areas which we couldn't go into but it didn't bother us one bit. The restaurants are great. The food was always excellent. We ate at the buffet and snack bars most of the time and I did not go hungry at all. There is something for everyone even the pickiest eaters. We ate at the a la carte and enjoyed it. They even have a childs buffet full of things that would satisfy any child. There is entertainment and a disco on site. With all of the kids activities and adult ones there is never a dull moment. If you bring the family your children will never get bored! The staff was great. All week staff said hello and talked to us. They helped us with local recommendations or directions in the hotel finding things. We also noticed the staff was always on top of fixing things throughout the hotel. While at the snack bar our plates were always cleared so fast and our server was always super friendly. The staff made the hotel stay even better. As for the presentation....just say no if you don't want to do it. They are just doing their job so you really can't get mad at that. As for us we said yes, went to the presentation....and are now vacation club members!!! See you in the spring in the VIP!!
We have had a Time Share at Marival for over 5 years and love vacationing there. On my most recent trip there year, I talked to several couples that were going the next morning for the Hotel review and the promotional, should I say Grilling. I own a Marival Time Share, 60, 000 points a year. I love the hotel but when I discuss with the people I meet on what the sales People promise and reality, they are stunned. The sales People will tell you about the great Promotions that they have and the management company that can sell your unused points so that for the year's you do not visit, you will make money. Do not believe this. In 5 years they have never rented out my points. Last year I was told it was slow and they are over populated with customer's request's to sell there unused points, thus I was not selected for 2015. For 2016, I spoke to Lizbeth from Marival customer service and said they are currently unable to contact Mercury and are working to understand what is happening. The e-mail is returned from Mercury and Marival has no Idea what is happening with their Partner. Unfortunately, if you did buy the time share, you are stuck and most likely will never rent out the unused points. For those of you thinking of buying in on the time share, don't. Visit, enjoy your vacation and keep your money. Just think that for the yearly Maint for 60, 000 points, you pay $750 a year. If you visit every 2 years, that is $1500. When you visit every 2 years, you could use that $1500 and be way ahead and still get all of the comfort of the VIP. Keep your initial money you would spend on the timeshare and enjoy Marival as a vacation, not an Investment.
We recently returned from Marival and can't stop talking about our new and wonderful friends there. Many of our days were spent at The Beach Club, where we felt like royalty. Special shout out: Cesar Rletei took superb care of us! You can tell Cesar loves what he does - always smiling, always helping, always going above and beyond with extra special touches. Every day Cesar had the same chairs, umbrellas and cabana waiting for our family - towels and all. And, the moment he saw us coming - our usual drinks were already on their way out to us. All day long, every day it was the same - Cesar's TLC made our vacation that much more special. We are beyond grateful and look so very forward to the day we all meet again.
I stayed at Club Marival for a friends wedding the week of Oct 31. After reading the negative reviews and actually experiencing club marival - did I ever realize people are hard to please!11 of us arrived at the same time and check in went smoothly. Don't forget to ask for a lock for the safe upon checkin. The people that put your wristbands on may try to talk to you about timeshares but just be clear you're not interested and they won't be forceful. Rooms were nice and clean - no complaints there. If you feel like you need extra water while there just ask the lady who stocks the fridge or get some for free from the front desk. No problem with housekeeping whatsoever. The food was good and plentiful - even the pickiest eater (me) could find something delicious to eat. The best al a carte there is the Italian for sure. The night we had reservations there - outside is a little bar and a man playing the piano ... he was amazing. Showed him songs we wanted played on his phone. He would listen. Play a couple notes. Then the music flowed!! Pools were nice - yes the adult pool doesn't have steady poolside service - but abraham will keep you full of drinks when he is working - he is an amazing waiter. As well as Cesar and Antonio in the snack pool bar by the adult side. Can't say enough good about those three wait staff. All in all it was great vacation. I would return.
