Iberostar Playa Mita is a great resort and it will make you feel relaxed, taken care of, and on a real careless vacation. This was a family vacation, and our girls loved it here and so did we. We reserved the Ocean Front Junior Suite and it was amazing. It's a bit far from the lobby, the main restaurant and night entertainment. But close to the pool and the beach, of course. Going to sleep to the sound of the waves and waking up seeing this gorgeous view is so dreamy. This resort has all you need, fun, great staff, excellent pool. The kids pool is amazing, I even liked sliding the water slides with my kids . The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Our room had a sofa that could open up, comfortable when traveling with kids. The food was ok, very pretty and with a huge verity. I liked the display of cheeses and the shakes they had for breakfast. Lots of sea food of course. The entertainment is good although we didn't get to see many of the shows as we had an early bedtime deadline. The kids club is great and Yamara is amazing. Warm, smiley, and easy going. I highly recommend this place. I can't wait to return.
In November we had the pleasure of visiting the Iberostar. A you walked into the lobby you could not help but notice the greenery in the courtyard and the relaxed atmosphere of the property.Check in was very welcoming and the bellman provided a wealth of knowledge about the resort when he delivered our bags to our room. When you arrive visit the concierge to book you supper reservations - no limit to the number of fine dining experiences you can enjoy but the most popular times fill up fast.We had the beachfront junior suite, well worth the money, right on the beach so you could listen to the waves all night - very relaxing. Our rooms were cleaned by Theresa and Mayte during our stay and they did an excellent job, super clean every day. Turn down service in the evening freshened up the room and left a little treat each evening. The food was very good with excellent service in most locations. The steak house served a nice meal but it was so bright it was like eating in a cafeteria rather than a nice romantic steak house.Bar service was excellent Eleasar (may not be correct spelling)at the pool bar knew our favorites and kept our glasses full when we were in the lovely pool bar area. Alex at the roof top bar was excellent and made great drinks for us to try - something different each evening as we enjoyed the sunset prior to going to supper. Be sure to visit the roof top for great drinks with a spectacular sunset view. You have to spend at least one day hanging out at the beach, the surf is a bit high at times but beautiful. We played in the surf each day and totally enjoyed the waves but be careful with smaller children. The lifeguard is most helpful in keeping every one safe. The beach bar and its excellent barkeep Alonso supplied the drinks for beach goers and the service was great. The buffets were well stocked with a variety of foods. Great service from Gisi and Felix.A great vacation, we will certainly return. It would be nice if the hotel set up morning coffee and tea stations near the pool or at the roof top bar.
Not good. All around the food is weak. I think the resort and location are okay but without top notch food who cares. The staff is local and nonchalant. The grounds are small. We are still here and I will survive but I will now be renting a car and leaving for day outings to get away.
Just leaving from a wonderful week at the Iberostar. Nice modern rooms, all rooms with patios. Upgrade to the ocean view for the few dollars extra. Bathroom was a little small, but you don't book a hotel for thee bathroom.FREE in room safe, mini bar, house coat and slippers. You can eat at the a la carte every night if you like. Advance reservation required.Tried them all, the French, Mexican, Asian, steak house and the buffet. Was not overly impressed with the French, but we really liked the steak house and the Mexican. Thank you to Aldo who made sure that we got our tres leche cake. The hotel also offers a shuttle service (fee) to Sayulita and Bucerias as well as down town Puerto Vallarta. Sayulita is about a 15 minute cab ride away and should not be missed.Concierge available several hours a day. Beach is very nice. Pleasantly surprised for the Pacific side of Mexico. Long stretch of dark sand beach, smooth and sandy beach with the odd rock. Great beach for boogie boards and body surfing.Would return to this hotel. If you go say hi to Aldo. You will see him overseeing all of the dinning venues.
We had a group of 12 with 4 kids age 13 and under, and have been to 5 all inclusive resorts and this is by far the best. Something for everyone. kids area and kids club babysitting. Lots of activities throughout the day and every night there was a show in a dedicated theatre which were spectacular. The resort is a great size. Because there are many areas to be it never felt like it was crowded. Food was great at all the restaurants and drinks were always good. There is also a separate disco area that is away from the rooms that is open in the evening until 3am. The resort is very clean and the staff were always pleasant. Vicente, Franscisco, Alex (bartenders), Marco (entertainment), Yomara (kids club) went above and beyond. Also there Star Band plays music throughout the day and some nights in the lobby bar. We have some musicians in our group and everyone was amazed at this band. Activities: archery, dance lessons, pool games, air gun, bike tour, kayaks, mechanical bull, yoga, water aerobics, volleyball on land and water and more. Very pleased and a very safe resort. Highly recommended
