When we arrived, the front desk personnel told us we were not booked into the rooms we reserved. We found out they were overbooked. They were not helpful and antagonistic. We spent almost two hours sorting it out and it looked as if we were not going to have a wonderful time, to say the least. We kept asking for the supervisor and each one just said the same things, that the travel agency didn't inform them, etc. etc., which we got them on the line to verify our reservations. Then, we asked for the general manager. Daniel Ramirez came to the front desk and my daughter and son in law had a meeting with him, while I took care of my 3 grandchildren. When their meeting was over, he upgraded us to the next level of participation and fixed everything we wanted. When I was in my room, Derek (I forgot his last name, sorry), came to our rooms and installed a sound bar and internet television device (which didn't work), but was a wonderful gesture. He is a highly motivated and competent young man, and gave him a great recommendation to Daniel. From then on, we had excellent service from housekeeping to the sports/entertainment team. Alex was particularly friendly and Marco was also friendly. The evening shows were excellent. I've been to 18 different Club Med's in my life and the quality of the shows was superb. We all enjoyed them tremendously.Regarding the food: We all like to eat what we like, so having a buffet for breakfast and dinner was great for us. We ate at all of their restaurants and our favorite was the Japanese teppenyaki restaurant, where we all loved the fried rice. The Mexican and steak restaurants were also very good. Nice to have a variety of restaurants on the premises. The grounds we absolutely beautiful and the maintenance team kept it up in a superb way. The beach was wonderful and easily accessible.I liked that it was not surrounded by other hotels. All in all, we all loved our experience and would highly recommend it to anyone!Thank you, Daniel, for making sure we had a great time. You have really done a great job with managing the hotel/resort. Hats off to you.
Loved it on arrival after 25 hours on the road I was allocated room 1319 what a view excellent 180 degree sea view read reports before I went saying hard to get in the restaurants no problem at all .the entertainment staff all took time to make you welcome me and my mate did all of the on offer while the ladies Sat in the sun our room.was cleaned every day fresh towels ect they have a policy if you leave your towels before 9 unattented they will be collected .I recommend the Japanese it's excellent. Negatives Thomson rep comes at 8 30 leave your towel they will be removed exit tax is now 60 pounds or 1355 Paso our rep blamed BREXIT what a plank I think the beach bar should open later and also the terrace bar these are good to relax in
As I read reviews before my trip, it struck me that sometimes life is all about expectations. So much of the reviews were driven by expectations, realistic or otherwise. I must admit that my expectations of this property were on the modest side, given the price point for an all inclusive stay. I wasn't expecting the Four Seasons; I wanted a well located, clean, nice room, nice amenities, good but not great food and drink. The Iberostar consistently exceeded my expectations throughout my stay. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The location is remote; its takes effort to get off property so if that's your goal, probably not your place. The location is a plus in my mind, with a beautiful sand beach where you can open your window at night and hear the waves, not humanity. Our oceanfront junior suite was more than acceptable, great deck for viewing the sunset, comfortable bed. The other furniture (day bed and chairs) weren't very comfortable but we weren't in the room much. Mini bar was kept well stocked. Toiletries and towels frequently refreshed. Plenty of lounge chairs on beach and by pool, with plenty of shade if you wanted to escape the sun. We were there during a peak easter week and still has no problems. Bars and drinks were plentiful; not great but if you knew how to order and tipped your bartender things improved remarkably. Rooftop bar entertainment was very good and what a spot for sunsets. Food was better than I expected, with lots of choices. Really enjoyed the show in the japanese restaurant but had good experiences in all the restaurants (never did buffet for dinner). Never tried room service but heard it was limited and slow. Staff all very welcoming and friendly, even the overworked bartenders at the pool bar. Cigar bar very comfortable. My son enjoyed some of the activities (shooting, ping pong, darts, basketball, volleyball, etc. It was very convenient having Dressel Divers on site for scuba. Also enjoyed zip lining and rzr dune buggy trip with Vista Paraiso just 5 minutes from the front door. A very fun trip that we would love to repeat.
As a family with a 5 year old child, we travel a lot, we've been to different countries and different places, but honestly that is the best place and that was our best holiday so far. We spent 14 nights in Iberostar Playa Mita and everything was perfect - much beyond expectations. I just can't understand people who left 'average' reviews - come on, pay 3 times more and go to a Bed and Breakfast ''sophisticated'' hotel with boring staff, wonder what review you gonna leave then...So lets face the truth:The hotel grounds and territory are spotless, so clean and you feel like in heaven - everything green, lots of flowers, also great pools, tennis courts, gym, SPA etc, Pacific ocean with the extraordinary sunsets. The hotel is surrounded by wild beaches in a jungle just in the base of the mountain.Food and all the restaurants are excellent. Chef Aldo greets everyone personally and he was our genie: ''Your wish is my command!''Entertainment is absolutely brilliant - these girls and boys work so hard and love what they do. I enjoyed zumba with Marco, he's the pearl of the team :) Osvaldo is such a nice person. Edwardo is very professional. Night shows were great and we attended some twice, my faves are Rock night and The Circus.Customer services is also great - they do everything to make guests happy and they work really fast. And the best part of all was THE KIDS CLUB: Yomara, Edith, Kristin and Alexandra we miss you a lot. Thank you for your great care and hospitality. In one word - I highly recommend Iberostar Playa Mita.It was love from a first sight -we loved every minute and we truly had our best holiday!
Just returned from a short, 3 night stay and would definitely recommend. The property was beautiful, everything was clean, beach was perfect. Felt safe walking to the public beach and cliffs to the left when facing the ocean. Our rooms were 1012/1013 and that was a perfect location, in between the ocean/pool and lobby. Had a great dinner in the Japanese restaurant and buffets were excellent too. Try and visit Sayulita, a fun surfer town 20 minutes away, hotel has shuttles going there daily.
