There was a huge spider problem by our room and the gap under the door was large enough for big spiders, and the babies they carried, to crawl through. The front desk would not change our room and only offered to spray the area to stop the spiders, I don't know if this was done, but if so, it did not work. We resorted to using towels to plug the gap but staff kept removing them or not replacing them properly letting them in, it was impossible to get comfortable in the room and it ruined our trip.
We heard a lot of nice things about this resort & it came highly recommended. This resort didn't disappoint! The diversity of the amazing beach & impressive mountain range was very scenic. I've been to a lot of all inclusive resorts in Cozumel, Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen & Ixtapa. Iberostar Playa Mita had the best food at the buffet & specialty restaurants of any previous resort I've stayed at. The service was great, staff was always helpful & friendly. The beach was an amazing stretch to walk on & the ocean was great to swim & play in. Waves were never to big & perfect for boogie boarding/body surfing. It is 45-50 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta airport but worth the drive.
We stayed in an oceanfront jr. suite. This room had lots of little amenities at no extra charge...robes, slippers, turndown service, room service, fully stocked mini bar with various, beer, juices and pop, peanuts and one serving size chips. (Im not sure if the regular rooms have the same.) in other words, the room was great. One other thing i really liked is that you can book your a la carte's right away. No waiting till the next day and standing in line to book. Yay! They also have various concierge desks at each building to address whatever needs you have so once again, no running down to the front desk and waiting in line..Another bonus! The Japanese was the best teppanyaki although the service was terrible. A few at our table left (to go eat at the buffet). The French/Gourmet was not great and certainly not worth the men having to wear long pants for. For a French restaurant, there wasn't a baguette, escargot, mousse, or chateaubriand in sight (one duck confit). The food here does not match the beautiful atmosphere. If you are a beach walker this hotel has a great walking beach. The beach is very nice. There are no palapas but they do have staff who come around and put up umbrellas wherever you are sitting. There is beach service as well. The proximity of the beach to the pool is not so convenient. The pool is on the 4th floor (they missed an opportunity here to have the infinity pool overlook the ocean) so you are either using the slow elevator or going up and down stairs. There is a beach and snack bar.The pool area is quite large and there are lots of lounge chairs. They have a policy that anything left on the chairs before 9:00 is removed. Im not sure if it's enforced but finding a chair didn't seem to be an issue. The entertainment staff does a wonderful job at keeping the guests entertained. Victor does a great job at water gym, Maryanna is friendly and engaging, and Marco knows his dancing! This relaxing hotel is a 45 min. cab ride from PV. They do have a very affordable daily shuttle to take you into Bucerias, La Cruz, Sayulita or P.V if you are looking to leave the resort and experience some of Mexico. The 'timeshare' spiel was a soft sell so that was nice. They also had a promotion where you pay $100 to get discount coupons for various activities such as the spa, romantic dinner, etc. The upshot of this is that you have to spend money to get money off so depending what it is it may not be worth it. All in all it was a wonderfully relaxing holiday drinking, eating and walking on the beach.
Three couples traveled together and spent 10 days at the beautiful Iberostar. We have been to many All Inclusive resorts in Mexico. This one is beautiful!. This resort featured some of the best food in an all inclusive buffet we have ever encountered. The staff are also some of the happiest, most attentive, and pleased to help you at every request. Our thanks go out to our three top staff; David the outstanding concierge who took care of us in 1015, 1017, and 1040. He would greet us by name whenever he saw us, and he was so helpful with any request from Golf bookings to medical office, a la carts etc. Julio was our most usual breakfast waiter in the buffet. Nobody was more cheerful and hard working. Claudia was our usual drink server at the far end of the pool as far away from the bar as you can get. Always had a smile on her face and she was so attentive to our requests. The beach is outstanding. The water was warmer than I've ever experienced in the PV area before. It is out there. You can't leave and walk through a town nearby. You can pay 120 pesos and take air cond. shuttle to Sayulita for a two hour walk about. Only small disappointment was the condition of the golf for the money next door. A tough course, good fairways but the greens were far too bumpy for the $89. US they charge. Bring a great book, enjoy the beautiful pool, get off your rear and play some of the fun pool and beach games if you'd like.Life is Good. Now go and enjoy it!!
This was a girls trip for the two of us. We stayed here for a week and had the best time ever, we love the resort and the staff! All of the staff were amazing, but especially wanted to give a big shoutout to the following who made our stay really memorable:- Oswaldo: He always encouraged us to participate in all of the activities and made sure we had fun. He even came to play ping pong with us and danced with us on our last night :)- Marco: The first day we came to the resort, he welcomed us. He knew it was our first day and explained all the entertainment options. He remembered us every day and made sure we had fun during our stay.- Augustin (Front desk): He was very welcoming and kind to us during our entire stay and gave us great advice on where to go. He's an excellent addition to the team!- Alejandro (server in el Nepal Buffet): Alejandro is the sweetest server, came up to our table every time we needed something before we even had to ask. - Alejandro (Manager in el Nopal): He was so well mannered and professional. Always went above and beyond. Even though it was a buffet he would grab our plates for us and always told us to let him know if we need help. -Issac (Front Desk): Issac remembered us since the day we checked in and was always eager to help us. -Chilo (Bell man): On our last day, we were in a rush but he immediately helped us with our luggage. We forgot to deflate our pool floatie and he was kind enough to do it for us quickly and was so friendly. - Milton: Milton always kept us company and always made sure we had fun during the games/shows. Thank you all for making our trip amazing! The rooms were also nice and big as well they were serviced twice a day and we had a balcony although it was a standard room which we loved. The food in the buffet as well as the restaurants were amazing and we were so impressed! not something we expected as much from an all inclusive. From: Nagham & Shemanti :)
