I want to start by saying the service here is the best I have received anywhere! All the employees were friendly and provided amesome service. A lot of time you will find resorts are on "island time" when you ask for something. You do not have to worry about that here! We always received prompt, quick service. The only suggestions I would have is to add another dinner restaurant and have a better explanation of what restaurants are open on what nights and times. Also, this is kinda small but on the TVs they need to show something other then the "commercial" for the resort. As the "commerical" was playing over and over on every TV, it also played elevator music. Some nights it put me to sleep while we sat at the bar. I'm not asking for a night club atmosphere but something that doesn't make me fall asleep.
If I were to rate this room the rating would have been excellent! The room, should I say apartment?, is a complete flat with two rooms, two full bath rooms, a kitchen, a living room, a dinning room and a large balcony!!! all modern and very well decorated... this is with no doubt a 5 stars!!! The problem is the facilities and the restaurants... The food was just ok in lost cases... The pool is barely ok... with lack of good spaces to have a pleasant sun bath... The beach... o no, there is no beach... you need to go to the other hotel to have a beach... So some few nice spots (like the jacuzzi or the roof top bar) the hotel is great to be in the room... but you are in PV... who wants to be in the room? I would not come back to this hotel...
We've spent a week at April 2017 at Marival Residences Luxury Resort. We've stayed at two bedrooms penthouse at the top of the building. Shortly, the only good thing about this hotel is the building itself. The room was clean and view from the balcony was great. The hotel is 1/2 mile away from the ocean and between the hotel and the ocean two rows of residential properties with a real city street with car traffic in between. So, there is no walking to the ocean. Especially, there is a metal fence that separate the hotel area and those personal residences. If you are going to the beach you have to take the shuttle and go to the sister property.Restaurant experience is disappointing. Despite that this hotel is advertised as a luxury residences the food and level of service is 3-star hotel level at best. There is a waiting line to enter the restaurant for breakfast, another 10-15 minutes waiting to be seated plus another 15 minutes waiting for waiter to show up. After the waiter takes your order you will have to go and bring coffee cups, sugar and spoons for yourself.Breakfast buffet has only 5 food choices and it doesn't change during the entire week! Bread and bakery products taste like it was baked a few days ago.Food/drink service around the pool area is surprisingly slow. I don't know what was the secret there. We would always give $1-$2 tips, but it didn't have any effect. So, finally, we and another group of guests were just walking to the restaurant for ice cream or beer.Once I was swimming with my kids at the pool and I've asked the waiter to bring us two bottles of water and one beer. It was 4.30 pm or close to that. The waiter responded to me:"This restaurant will close soon, you have to go to another restaurant".....! After that he was staying and watching us swimming for another 10 minutes.Despite the fact that the entire swimming pool was overcrowded with kids there were several people smoking cigarettes right straight to you face. I believe that smoking around the pool with kids should be limited. The time when restaurants open or close is very tricky. Several times we got into a situation when restaurant is closing or not open yet and we had to order from room service (have to pay for the room service delivery, because it is not in all-inclusive service). Once we came back from sister hotel with kids at 10.15 pm. We were watching a show and decided to stop by the restaurant for a dinner. Well, we were almost pushed out of the restaurant. They told us that kitchen is closed, but we still can order some deserts if we want. However, we have to harry up and eat it fast because we have only 10 minutes. Sounds like a luxury!?Free Wi-Fi provided by the hotel was for three (3) devices only and if you travel with two kids you know that it is a problem. The internet is very-very slow and basically we had to use our cellular company service via hot spot connections.I should say that when you order food with room service it comes fast and you don't have to stay in lines! So, room service is a good part of the "Luxury".Red wine.... Oh! That was a bad surprise. They offer Cabernet, Merlot and Pinot Noir. Yes, only three (3) red wines, the same brand that are included into that all-inclusive list. All of these tastes below average. Well, if you want another red wide they will bring you a wine list and you have to pay for that wine.Restaurant staff needs a lot of training; how to serve the table, how to talk to guests, how to pour coffee into a cup, etc. We were eating outside and there are dozens of wild birds trying to steal food from your plate and from the restaurant. As a result there are some droppings on tables, table cloth, seats and plates. We were seated at the table for breakfast and one plate had something on it... Don't know if it was bird dropping or it was dirty plate from previous guest. So, I've asked the waiter about this plate..... He shakes his head and clean that plate with his finger. After that he gives that plate to me.We have some compliments for the restaurant on the roof and to its manager Christian. It was the only restaurant on the property where waiters work was organized very well. So, I can make the list of complaints about this "Luxury Residences" longer, but I guess it is enough. We will not go to this place in a future and wouldn't recommend it. For the amount of money we've spent we were expecting way better service. In short, it was a vacation at "Luxury" place with very strong 3-star hotel aftertaste.
Great atmosphere with a good balance between entertainment and relaxation. The staff is extremely attentive and the food is far beyond standard "all-inclusive" menus. The resort's pool restaurant is a must for anyone who prefers a more natural option for meals without compromising taste.
The residences are immaculate. Rooms very clean and spacious. We were a family of 5 with 2 young children and they had a blast. Very easy access to the other resort. My one suggestion would be to have more snack friendly foods at the pool, tacos, quesadillas, pizza, nacho's and etc. The one octopus and shrimp pizza is not my idea of a good snack food for kids or this adult!!! But, otherwise we had a wonderful stay
