Occidental Grand Nuevo Vallarta
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
Renovations have improved the Allegro Nuevo Vallarta which was starting to appear a bit old and run down. A new modern finish now adds to this authentically Mexican hotel. Many repeat clients love the hotel because the facilities are up to standard, the beach is amazing and the staff are the best! In the lobby, an entire wall is filled with letters from guests, saying what a great time they had and that they would return. There's no doubt about it, regardless of how old this hotel is, it never fails to please its guests.
My wife and I came for a last-minute 3 day honeymoon trip. It was a great experience and we had a lot of fun. Overall, the hotel and amenities are great but not perfect. I say this because it is not a huge hotel, just one pool. They're even constructing new pools. But the restaurants and food are great, really good. So is the service and the drinks. Our waiter at the Los Olivos restaurant was named Guadalupe Salazar, and he is the best guy I met in Mexico. He tells the greatest jokes. So if you're looking for a good time, come here, you won't be disappointed. Plus, prices are great. HOWEVER, avoid raining season, because that makes the crystal clear ocean brown and dark.
The Grand Occidental Nuevo Vallarta is one of many resorts part of a vacation club throughout Mexico. In Puerto Vallarta, its located in the recently upgraded area of Nayarit with a beautiful, long, golden, and clean beach. The hotel itself is large and very open aired, which gives it a surreal persona. Premium club members are met at the front desk and escorted to their own private check in area close to the beach, where they can get refreshments, snacks, and get checked in - its a lengthy process. This small clubhouse is exclusive to premium club members and also has its own small library, private restrooms, sunbathing areas, concierge, and hot-tub.The hotel is very richly decorated with lots of choices of where guests can sit and relax, watch TV, read, or enjoy the scenery. The complex is surrounded with beautiful well coifed tropical landscaping. There is one large swimming pool for all ages. There, you get beach towels, comfortable chaise lounges, umbreallas, and poolside services for drinks and snacks. There is another pool for club members only, with its own hot tub. It also has full service. The buffet is high quality; but, does not change significantly from day to day, which may get tedious after a few days there. There is an Asian restaurant and an Italian Restaurant, of which I never dined in. It's worth noting that reservations are necessary and men must wear long pants - no exceptions. The wines served throughout are mediocre at best and always served cold, regardless of type. There is a bar located centrally where you can watch sports on one of many good TV's. As a large family we watched the NFL Play-offs and had a great time. To order a Dominos Pizza, asks the front desk to help you. The gift shop is perfect for forgotten hygiene products and sundries, souvenirs, and tobacco products (good cigars.) There is an activity concierge to help you find something for everyone outside of the resort. Nightly, there are live shows on stage there. There is a kids play area where staff members can look after the little ones - it seemed secure enough. Also, the spa offers good massages, albeit a little expensive for Mexico. The beach is beautiful and clean with lots of chairs, towels, service, and umbrellas. Occasional vendors will peddle their wares. You can catch a ride on boats to fish, or jetski, or parasail. Across the street from the front of the hotel is a very nice shopping mall with a grocery store. You can find just about anything there, including starbucks, dominos, mcdonalds, etc. There is a public marina where fishing and sailing boats may be chartered. There are banks and a Catholic Church, which Sunday services in English and Spanish. The rooms are adequate and amenities good. A suite is very nice and spacious; but, your phone may not work there. There is a Mexican food cafe near the pool which has decent food at night; but, the lunch is aweful. Overall, its a good safe place to spend time with kids, parents, grandparents, and friends.
Overall a very good vacation with friends. We upgraded our all inclusive to royal level which was worth every penny. The royal level provided access to the royal level bar, private pool, and private beach cabanas. Service was excellent throughout the resort. The royal level bar service is beyond excellent. The bartender and servers Rafael Arce, Aurelio Rios, and Anthony goes above and beyond to provide excellent service, to accommodate us, and in making sure that we have great and fun experience. The resort offers variety of restaurants as well and have nightly entertainment in the Nayarit theater. Also day activities were also provided in the pool are. Resort is family and kid friendly as well.
My girlfriend and I was planning to go to Cozumel but we could not get the flight that we wanted. She ended searching for other places that we could go and she found a great deal on hotels in Puerto Vallarta. We took a chance and it paid off. Hotel Occidental was beautiful. Very clean and picturesque. Everyone was so great. We felt very welcome. Hospitality was second to none. All the restaurants was great including the buffet and the snack bar by the beach. But we especially enjoyed Las Olivas. Excellent food! All the staff that we had interaction with was great. From the bell boys, receptionist, concierge, activity staff, the dancers from the shows, bartenders, wait staff and housekeeping. We could not recall any bad occasion. That being said, we would like to single a couple of individuals. Sebastian made the best drinks. He made our drinks strong. Keila was nothing short of incredible. Best waitress of all time! Sorry for the late review. We were a little busy dealing with the Houston flooding. Regresaremos!
First off, I’d like to say this is our second visit to Occidental Nuevo Vallarta this year and it was just as amazing as our first visit. Having stayed for a longer duration the second time we had the opportunity to get to get to know the exceptional staff at Occidental and explore many more of the amazing amenities that the resort has to offer. We simply cannot say enough about the remarkable Le Buffet staff, specifically Fernando, Daniel and Jorge. They went above and beyond each time we visited and exceeded all of our service expectations. Additionally, the bar staff were equally amazing and happily and personally reached out to our entire family to ensure that we were comfortable and always had a beverage. Rene, Benjamin and Carlos are the most amazing bar staff and don’t just make drinks – they create relationships with the guests and these meaningful relationships are what we look forward to as we consider our next visit and seeing all of the staff again. Lastly the entertainment staff, who work incredibly hard to ensure that guests are having a great time and engaged with the resort and all it has to offer. Johnny, Armando, Sergio and Luigi are an awesome group of guys and we can’t wait to visit again and hang out with them. The entire entertainment staff performed admirably during our entire visit and should be commended for their exceptional work. Our hats are off to the extraordinary staff at Occidental and how you truly strive to know your customers and create the most meaningful and memorable experience possible. See you all again in a few months.
