Occidental Grand Nuevo Vallarta

Renovations have improved the Allegro Nuevo Vallarta which was starting to appear a bit old and run down. A new modern finish now adds to this authentically Mexican hotel. Many repeat clients love the hotel because the facilities are up to standard, the beach is amazing and the staff are the best! In the lobby, an entire wall is filled with letters from guests, saying what a great time they had and that they would return. There's no doubt about it, regardless of how old this hotel is, it never fails to please its guests.
Spent our family vacation at Occidental! Hotel was good, there is some construction going on which can be a lil noisy. Room was spacious and customer service was great! Our waiters Jesus R.And Manuel were exceptional!!!
Hotel staff were amazing. The kids club was great, alaxendra and Lizeth did a great job with keeping the kids engaged with fun activities. I loved their positive attitudes. Servers were wonderful they made you feel at home and hustled. Samuel and Fernando were the best! They always had a smile on their face and ensured we were well taken care of. I would recommend this place to stay and will certainly be returning.
Ours First Time Here!!! Fist Cub was Awesome!!!! Drinks and Food were really Good, but highly recommend the speciality Italian Restaurant!! They’re actually remodeling part of swimming pool area, so I hope they have the restrooms ready soon!!! In general very good!!!!
If I can give this hotel ZERO, I would. This hotel does NOT deserve any stars! My bf & I used Costco travel and did this all-inclusive package deal and this hotel really made our first time Mexico experience the WORST. Where should I start? We arrived to the hotel lobby to check in around 4 pm. We waited about 20 mins just to get someone to the front desk. I personally hate waiting but this took way too long after a long flight we had from Seattle. We booked it for 5 days. First 3 days were pretty decent. Nice pool & friendly staffs. BUT Friday night & Saturday night this stupid hotel allowed 2 weddings back to back. First wedding wasn't too bad....like promised, wedding party ended everything at 12 am. I still think letting a wedding go till 12 am is really really late for other guests that are staying there.2nd wedding on Saturday night, we've had it with them & a hotel. Music still went on till 1 AM and these drunk wedding party were singing and shouting out on top of their lungs, the drunk/shouting show all ended around 3 AM. We called the front desk many many times to complain & none of them even said "sorry" all they told us was we are working on it with the wedding party. I work in customer service industry, i couldn't believe front desks' attitude and UN-Professionalism. Mind Blowing! We even went down to the lobby to complain. We saw so many families with Kids pack their belongings and were leaving middle of the night because the wedding party didn't care about other guests. I would never let my wedding party affect others. But we blame the hotel since they were the ones who let weddings go till 12 am which can result in this kind of crap show. Next morning, we called Costco travel & complained about this. Stuff like this will NOT happen in US. We saved up for a year for this trip and this hotel didn't let us relax. We eventually got a promise from the hotel that they will reimburse the money back. Even though they offered to be upgraded to the Royal room we declined, we checked out the next morning & went to the hotel called West in. If this hotel offered on the night of to be upgraded, we would've stayed nor I won't be even writing this review right now. I forgot to mention, we are Asian- American, we've heard the staffs saying racial words to us in Spanish. Come on, we ain't stupid. Do not stay here if you want to listen to the Mexican songs till 2-4 AM. I repeat, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. i wouldn't even call this place a hotel, you can't even sleep. Food is okay, do not try the Japanese restaurant called TOKYO. their sushi quality is like safe way sushi quality. We dined in for 2 hrs because they were so slow. I hope Costco doesn't partner up with this hotel so that Americans like us doesn't ruin the vacation. Lastly, this stupid hotel made us sign a document, saying we are solely leaving this hotel a day earlier due to our personal reasons. Well, we were leaving BECAUSE of the hotel! Phony fraud hotel ever!!!!! We let Costco know that they made us sign the phony document.
Highly recommend this resort to couples and families alike. We are staying here to celebrate our 20th anniversary and so far everything has surpassed our expectations. Food in the Mexican and Italian restaurants has been fantastic. We are staying in the Royal Club level and the breakfast and dinner there have been of an equally high standard - in addition views from the 7th floor restaurant are amazing. Every member of staff has been friendly and accommodating - entertainment, wait staff, bar staff, concierge, housekeeping etc.We have made use of the Royal Club pool, the beach and the main pool, and enjoyed them all equally. The pool bar staff regularly check in to see if we need refreshment, although the bars are close enough that going to get our own drinks is just as convenient. There are enough activities throughout the day that would keep you occupied if you don't want to read a book all day, but this is definitely not a 'loud' resort from dawn to dusk. The evening entertainment has been just right - 9pm start means we didn't need to rush dinner, and the shows we attended were over by 10pm which kept the noise to a minimum after that time. There is some construction work going on right now but it has not inconvenienced us in any way, and we have already decided to return in the future to see the improvements this construction will bring.
