Occidental Grand Nuevo Vallarta
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
Renovations have improved the Allegro Nuevo Vallarta which was starting to appear a bit old and run down. A new modern finish now adds to this authentically Mexican hotel. Many repeat clients love the hotel because the facilities are up to standard, the beach is amazing and the staff are the best! In the lobby, an entire wall is filled with letters from guests, saying what a great time they had and that they would return. There's no doubt about it, regardless of how old this hotel is, it never fails to please its guests.
Our stay at the Occidental Nuevo Vallarta was a great experience, in fact, almost perfect. Very nice room with ocean view. Next to the incredible beach and the Pacific, this venue offred a great variety of very good food at the buffet. Thanks to Jesus & Jesus (Rodriguez) we received an excellent service during our stay. The food and service at the italian restaurant was exceptional. Pro: close to shopping facility and medical clinic. Con: no balcony. Overall: we will go back to the Occidental. Great value.
Our room was large and well laid out (the huge, peek through shower was fun). The resort is small and easy to move around in, and has a variety of shady/sunny areas to lounge in. The buffet has enough choices to satisfy most, and is very good. The beach is long, clean, and beautiful...one of the many reasons I returned to this resort after my first trip in 2011.Being able to take a quick trip to PV or Bucerias (200 pesos more or less) is a nice benefit, if you like to leave the resort area for a few hours. We did a food tour in PV with Vallarta Food Tours and it was wonderful.By far, the outstanding feature of this resort is the beautiful, kind and friendly staff. This resort has this quality hands down. The added restaurants are okay...the Italian being the best IMHO. I believe the new Japanese restaurant needs some work.Paid room internet service was hit and miss, though it was strong when it was working.I would recommend this small, excellent resort to anyone.
This resort should be a 5 star!Just got back from the Occidental Nuevo Vallarta 2 days ago and I have nothing but great things to say!! Travelled with my Mom and this was our first time in Mexico. We absolutely loved this relaxing resort. The amenities of the hotel are great. The grounds are kept pristine and spotless and the rooms, lobby, and lounge are clean and modern. The pool is a nice size and there are always beach chairs available. One thing I loved was that you can see the ocean/beach from the pool. Throughout our stay we noticed that they are doing small renovations here and there to further improve the resort. The beach is beautiful!!! You can walk along it for as long as you want and the scenery is breathtaking - hilly mountains on either side! The sand is gold and the beach itself is kept clean. The only downside is that you can't swim in the water. Every day it was red-flagged or yellow-flagged because the waves were so rough. You wont find calm, turquoise water here but that didn't bother us at all. The sunsets are gorgeous. The service is top-notch, with servers and bar staff going above and beyond to make sure that you are having a perfect time. Special thanks to ERIK for being such an attentive and friendly waiter during breakfast and lunch at the buffet. He made our visit even more memorable! The entertainment team was phenomenal! They kept guests involved with dance lessons, water aerobics, yoga, Spanish lessons, etc. We had one rainy day during our stay but we weren't bored because the team kept activities going on indoors. JOHNATHON (Johnny Be Good) was the best! He was extremely entertaining, had great energy and always kept us laughing. The food was great! The buffet has lots of selection to suit everyone's tastes. We went to all 3 a la carte restaurants and we liked them all. As other people have said, the Italian one is nothing too special, but the Japanese restaurant was awesome! The Mexican one is also nice, especially since it is right on the beach. For our first time in Mexico, we had such a great time and would love to go back. You won't be disappointed if you choose this resort!
We had a wonderful holiday for 2 weeks. Our waiters Jesus Rodrigiz,Erick and his brother Samuel treated us like friends and family. They made our meals so much fun and we never had so many laughs with them. You are honoured to have such wonderful staff in your hotel from the waiters, front office staff and cleaning people. The entertainment was great.and we enjoyed every show.We stayed on Royal Level 7 and were pleased with the room. Our only disappointed not having WIFI which was promised to us when booking, but was taken away just before we arrived. We plan on coming back next year for 2 weeks. Please thank your staff for us.
We vowed three years ago to never return to Occidental PV. We even bought a Vidanta Grand Luxxe membership and have stayed there instead. But this year we chanced it. Wonderful! Last time we stayed in the penthouse with tattered curtains and dingy furniture; the Royal Club food was only ok, and the restaurants and buffet were substandard. Only the usual excellent service was what we would expect. Now, the remodeled studio we booked in the first club was OUTSTANDING. Beautiful. The food was much improved. Service with many of our same favorite people was even better. THANK YOU Barcelo for bringing back this beautiful resort in a beautiful setting.
