Mercure Hotel, is very close to the city center and easily accessible by Uber or local taxis. We found hotel very clean, elegant and comfortable. Excellent bar and restaurant in the hotel. Staff was very cooperative and helpful. Will recommend to visitor who wants to be around city but not too far.
Fab hotel here. The decor is lovely and the atmosphere is very easy and calm. Staff were always great and friendly. Drinks a little expensive but no more than out in amsterdam itself. The room was lovely we were on floor 11 building a. It was my 30th birthday so was greeted with cake and balloons courtesy of my friends prior arrangements. All in all this hotel was fab.
We visited early January as this was a Christmas surprise for the family. We arrived at the hotel at about 16:45 however one of our rooms had not yet been cleaned and was not ready, the reception were unable to give us an indication of when the room would be ready to check in.On the second day we returned to the hotel after a full day of exploring the city however neither of our rooms had been serviced, we informed the reception and they told us that the rooms are not serviced daily however we were not informed of this upon check-in.There is in-room tea and coffee facilities however this consists of 2 paper cups in each room (even a room for 3 people), which means you get one drink each as the cups are not sturdy enough to wash and re-use. As the rooms were not serviced daily the cups and coffee were not replenished. The hop-on hop-off boat leaves from the hotel each day which can take you into the city, one day the boat did not stop at the hotel to collect us when we were waiting. we informed the reception however they made no effort to contact the boat company as we had purchased the ticket with the company directly (which was cheaper) rather than through the hotel. We enjoyed Amsterdam but would not stay at this hotel if we return to the city and would not recommend to friends.
We stayed here for a four night midweek stay in September. If you don't mind being out of the centre of Amsterdam then this place is certainly worth considering. The hotel is located approximately 5 minutes walk from the Overamstel underground station and there are regular trains from there to Amsterdam Central Station. The journey time is around 10 minutes and the last train back from Central Station was around 12.30am. The hotel is located in a business district area of the city and so seemed to be favoured by guests visiting the nearby convention centre. Late at night the area is perfectly safe but due to there being no houses the walk back from the underground station is very quiet with no other people around. This is a lovely big hotel with a very large and welcoming reception. There is also a small shop there for buying late night goodies. The bar and restaurant were both very nice although we didn't eat there during our stay. Our room was very nice and was spacious, clean and comfy as well as well decorated. The bathroom also was spacious and had a much larger shower then you would get in other hotels. Everything in the place looked modern and clean. All the staff were also very helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Would certainly stay here again
Absolutely amazing hotel. So modern and beautiful. The staff were very helpful and ever so welcoming. The hotel bar was stunning, service was brilliant and the food was amazing. The little shop near reception was also really good. Although the hotel is a bit out of town, it is within minutes to the metro and then so easy to get to Amsterdam central. Rooms were nice and big, beds were comfortable. Everything was great. 10/10.
