Crowne Plaza Panama
- What's Included
My family of three (plus pet) stayed here for a month and the service and friendliness of the staff made the lengthy stay great! There were certain members of the staff that were exceptional (Vincente, the manager; Helen, the waitress; Antonio, the doorman; and Elida, the housekeeper). Each of these staff members were notably attentive, professional and pleasant consistently throughout this month-long assignment. The corner suite was roomy with a kitchenette, giving us some space since we were there for so long. Shopping, the metro, and restaurants are all within a short walk, and there is a lot of local culture to be found within a few blocks. The church across the street was beautiful and did not disturb our sleep, however our room was on the back side of the hotel, so maybe that made a difference. Since the location is downtown beside a main thoroughfare, there are local celebrations & festivities occurring almost daily that are easy to attend and are located close to or pass right by the hotel. I loved walking out on the balcony in the evenings, watching the sun go down and listening to the music and activity of the city. If you want a truly Panamanian experience located in the heart of the city, AND still get your IHG travel points, this is the hotel that I recommend.
Flying from Portland, Oregon to Panama by way of Houston left us excruciatingly tired. We had booked another hotel, but were told at the airport by a concierge our booked hotel had no water. Hmmm. We found a young woman representing Crowne Plaza who quickly booked us a room and arranged for a shuttle. As many travelers to this area of the world know, not everything in a hotel works perfectly. However, the room was lovely, modern and the beds were comfortable. We were grateful for a good night's sleep in a clean, safe environment. I do recommend this hotel.
The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable with lots of light. The breakfast was wonderful-fresh fruits, eggs cooked as you liked, with a good variety of other breakfast dishes. And they changed every morning. Plus the fresh juices at breakfast were so good. We found the location good for us. We walked around the area, checking out the churches, stores and neighbourhoods.
Stayed 4 nights at this hotel to attend a meeting at this same hotel in one of their meeting rooms. PROsFriendly helpful staff at lobby desk. Good group rates and meeting rooms. Hot Breakfast buffet theme changes. Had South American. Asian. American. Mexican. All good. Fresh fruit juices are really good. Enjoyed the watermelon ginger lime. The room Has a coffee maker. Free to print boarding pass at the biz center. Located half a block to metro. Lots of restaurants nearby. CONsWould be helpful if there was a mirror end of driveway to see vehicles coming from left. Needs more reliable internet connection. Chicken in Caesar salad was hard as if reheated.
Panama trip was excellent. Panama City should definitely be on your travel list. The view of the Panama Canal is breath-taking, especially when the huge ships are crossing the canal. Its just amazing to look at. The Pacific beach is great for the adventurous swimmers. The shopping Malls are great, good prices. Or just take a drive around the entire city and enjoy all the scenic views in Panama.
