Overview

A quality hotel

We stayed here 4 days in the second week of April 2017. This is a large, high quality hotel with everything you would expect in such an establishment (nice pool, fridge in the room, coffee-making facilities, good gym etc). We stayed on the 30th floor with expansive views over the new part of Panama, with the skyline dominated by the very many skyscrapers. We ate in the evenings at the help-yourself-buffet a few times and it had a good selection of food at reasonable prices. The only minor issues I had were with administration. One evening I had a phone call from reception at 11.10 pm requesting that I come down and sort out some minor issue about signing something or other. I got out of bed, got dressed, went to the lobby and sorted things out (or so I thought) and went back to bed. I had a second phone call at 11.30 pm asking me to come down and do it again but this time I put the phone down on them and went back to sleep. I the morning I explained to reception that the convention in such circumstances is to slide a note under the guest’s door asking them to see reception the next day. They were very apologetic about this and the guy I spoke to was at a loss as to why his colleague had phoned me up.The second issue we had was with the pool bar where the food was good but the service wasn’t. My wife and I ordered 1 coffee and 1 coke. We had our two drinks and paid the bill in cash. It then started to rain, so we stayed around the poolside another hour or so, and I had another coke. Eventually it stopped raining and we were ready to go for a walk, so requested the bill. The bill came, for 1 coffee and 2 cokes. We tried to explain (in rather poor Spanish) that we had already paid for 1 coffee and 1 coke, so we just wanted a bill for 1 coke. There followed a long debate between all the serving staff. Eventually a waited came over and asked who we had paid. I said it was one of the waitresses but I wasn’t sure who. He went back to the group discussion. After a few minutes he came back with a bill for 1 coffee and 1 coke!!! Really. I nearly cried with frustration. He went away again and came back with a bill for 1 coke, which we paid straight away and left. My wife even left a small tip but I don’t know why, it has never taken me 45 minutes to pay a bill for 1 coke before.But as I say these are minor concerns and if we stay in Panama City again I would not hesitate to stay in this excellent hotel.

Stayed at this property on vacation last month

We spent the first few days on our vacation at this hotel last month.Our room was very nice with a great city view.The included breakfast buffet isimpressive offering a good selection of hot and cold foods.This hotel is centrally located in Panama City within easy access of old Panama City and other attraction s provided you hire a driver which I recommend. It also has an outdoor pool area .

Exceeded expectations in a good location

This hotel was a great value for the price. The location in the financial center was fairly convenient for a two day stay in the city. We were accessible to the Cinta Costera and either a long walk or short uber ride to Casco Viejo. The check in staff was very accommodating when we needed to change our reservation to including my brother in law, who joined us at the last minute.The rooms were spacious. The breakfast buffet was large, varied, and included with our room rate. The pool was a highlight. We especially enjoyed lounging by the pool. The hotel has a small gift shop, which was important for me to pick up (overpriced) sunblock.

Pretty good

The hotel itself was not bad at all. The guest rooms were clean and spacious. Comfortable bed, well laid out for work space. Breakfast buffet and dinner buffet was good, nice selection of food. For cons, the television did not work in any of the rooms that my group had booked. The business center was not staffed and difficult to use. The hotel event staff seemed to nickle and dime you for everything.

Overpriced

We found this hotel quite overpriced. The hotel itself is okay. The rooms were clean enough. The entire hotel and rooms smelled absolutely awful, very very musty. Customer service is lacking. Pool is nice. Location is good. Close to plenty of restaurants.Would recommend looking at different hotels for better value.
