Bay Gardens Hotel
- What's Included
Great locally owned hotel. Central location to more bars and restaurants. Best beach location on Reduit Beach. Furnishings probably 3.5 stars, but clean and very well maintained. Staff friendly. Special mention to Ms Patrick who goes above and beyond to ensure her guests have a great stay.
Excellent service from start to finish.I was able to communicate with the hotel via e-mail for everything from airport transfers to doing the rainforest ziplining tour. Exceptionally friendly staff. I had a fruit basket added on to our room but didn't have a knife to actually cut up the fruit. That's ok, one request and a knock on your door they'll sort it right out.The Bay Gardens beach resort and spa has access to the Splash island water park. I was very excited but when my husband and I actually used it to our dismay we weren't too keen on how uncomfortable it made us feel. That's probably because we are unfit though. For a kid, I can see how their lack of inhibitions would make the splash park extreme fun. There are always 2 lifeguards on duty. You get 6 passes when you make a reservation with this resort. You have to wear a life jacket and sign a waiver with a number of rules for the splash park use. I am very supportive of the measures taken regarding safety. It just wasn't for me. I thought it was difficult to use and get up on to out of the water. There weren't many step ups and I just didn't like the sensation of being unsteady.Otherwise, I really liked the pool and the hot tub. The beach had sufficient chairs and umbrellas for us to use. But it is quite close to a company that does water sports. So a lot of boats and jet skiing going on. I wanted to do parasailing but the company nearby didn't have that available. However the great mable ride was exhilarating. There is a ferry to Pigeon Island I didn't know about until we got there. I wished we had stayed more days so I could have investigated other tours to do. Like going to the Pitons or even a segue around the island.Breakfast was ok. I liked that the food was kept in a separate room. The area where you actually dine outside had a lot of flies. But I could tell the bug zappers were working over time. The restaurant is right on the beach though. Can't beat that morning view. Apart from the occasional kitten it was quite comfortable. Not a large variety of food though. We didn't go to the other restaurant, I can't remember the name of it. I think that one was only opened for dinner. There was a wedding reception there when we stayed. So it was closed off in any case. The location of this resort made me book just for breakfast alone. You can walk to the nearest restaurants in Rodney Bay Village. And there are many. Doesn't take more than 15 min to get to any one. Ask the hotel staff for coupons to these places (that comes with your stay there). We weren't worried about our safety walking around in the night. And we stayed maybe a couple weeks after Jazz festival. Didn't have a lot of tourists. The hotel also offers the service of taking you to the street party that happens every Friday in Gros Islet but we didn't partake of that. I went to the small spa as well. If I wasn't so congested I would have really enjoyed my back massage. And I am happy they were able to fit in that and my pedicure after I came back from ziplining (which is a tour I highly recommend for those who are not afraid of heights).I wished the tour for the paintballing arena was also available but may have to go back for that one. I am happy I chose this hotel for our brief stay in St Lucia. Both my husband and I didn't have any complaints whatsoever. I would definitely recommend it to other travelers.
Lovely Hotel , perfectly located by the beach.Staff are lovely, always smiling and pleasant. Food was to die for!! Entertainment was fun and exciting. We had a fabulous time here and definitely will return. The pool was lovely always space to lounge. What more can you want, sun sea and sand!
We opted for the all inclusive and Overall we were disappointed by the lack of activities ( daytime and evening ), on the premises restaurant options , security on the open beach, USD $320 to/ from airport, Minimal non motorized equipment that shut down at 3 pm, breakfast buffet needs a complete overhaul from the location to the options. Even though breakfast was til 10:30, there were limited options after 9:45 especially fresh fruit and vegetables. The bar service on the beach was extremely limited- you needed to go get it yourselfThe dine around for all inclusive , only credited $120 (local currency ) per person. We used it twice and both nights we had high out of pocket expense - BTW , except for the resort , they don't accept Amex! The resort staff was very friendly , daily housekeeping service .The resort shut down at 11 every night, no food , no bar service, no entertainmentPerhaps families with small children would like it there . They need to review their marketing messages and tell it like it is .
Beautiful beach, great hotel. Staff was wonderful. Vacationing with family. Sunsets alone were worth the price of admission. Stayed in a suite traveling with adult children. Easy access to activities and small town restaurants. Would return to this hotel and beach in a heartbeat.
