Bay Gardens Inn
- What's Included
St. Lucia was on the Drawing Board - for my recovery from a knee injury. The night before my operation, my sister calls from Canada to ask if I could make reservations at Bay Gardens Inn for the two couples (she & her husband and myself & my husband). That's when it all started 'rolling'.Before you know it, we were booked on Caribbeab Airlines with accommodations at Bay Gardens Inn. Just as this was settling in, we got an offer of going to Bay Gardens Hotel - at the same price. Just our luck, you say? BUT, not so soon... My sister's next conversation to me was about an operation she herself was to undergo! Tickets from Caribbean Airlines were put on hold ($50US for change of dates - later waived on 3tickets), loss of 10% on rooms - all taken in its stride. Then, in order not to have to pay the $50US for change of date, my husband and I decided to travel on the original dates - so booked again at Bay Gardens Inn. This Booking was done online, and just as we thought we were all set for our 'long - awaited vacation' my sis also had the same idea - enjoy life while she was 'put on hold'.Could not get in touch with phone numbers listed; could not get through to cancel bookings; could find no one to reverse the bookings; everything was going haywire once again. Finally, could only get three night stay at Bay Gardens Inn, so had to use a 'Trump Card' - Anice O'neil was able to have us retrieve the cash taken out when I could not establish contact with my 'on-line bookers'; also this good lady was able to get us a 4-night stay at Bay Gardens Inn. We left Trinidad to a well deserved holiday which proved to be my best visit to St. Lucia thus far. Our "Land and Sea" tour by Joy's and our most comfortable stay at Bay Gardens Inn, as well as our being at the Street Party all helped to make it a stay well worth it.Thanks, Anice. Thanks to the Staff of Bay Gardens Inn. Thanks Tahric for fitting us into your already packed schedule!I'd recommend Bay Gardens Property any day. (Incidentally, the Resort and Spa was highly recommended to me by my 8-year old grandaughter. Thanks, Elise.)
Been staying here for many years. Staff make you feel like it is a "home from home". Rooms are very clean. Some rooms need a bit of updating but, what the hell, you only sleep in them. Shallow Pool - great for children. Good free shuttle service to their Resort Hotel on the beach.
This is a small convenient hotel - not high-end. The staff is attentive and polite, the rooms are spacious. The bathrooms need a refresher. Best thing of breakfast was having your eggs / omelette freshly cooked in the breakfast room. The bad part of it was the cooking smell you would take with you afterwards. This could be solved by installing a proper open kitchen in the breakfast room. It was great that we could use the sun beds in the beach where the resort is - as the resort, hotel and inn belong to the same group.
Stayed here celebrating a very special anniversary as well as my partner had a personal milestone also, we asked for an upgrade and they sent a lovely btl of champagne to our room - we were thrilled to say the least. Check in was easy wt no hassle but I found the Receptionest to have to beg d porters to do their jobs and there was lots of casual chats whilst we stood there (I thought that was odd) but it didn't at all upset me. Our room overlooked the pool (only 2.5ft deep) was clean ,had a fridge, air con, wi if everything was sufficient. Good location short walk to the centre of the town where there is something for everyone to do. We were out and about day one and room wasn't serviced it was no big deal to us as we had clean towels day 2 we chilled out all day decided to look into renting a car to see island we found the hotel offered a cheaper type car for a more expensive and you had to get a taxi to get a permit- we went back to our hotel and found a better deal and the company will drive you to get a permit.Breakfast at the inn was ok plenty to eat but limited in parts however as we came off a cruise it was ok the service staff was very unfriendly and didn't want to be there. The omelette chef more than made up for her she smiled was happy and friendly - the waitress growled tea or coffee and what's your room number? That's it's the whole service ... if it were Ireland there would be uproar! We decided to take our bt of bubble and have a romantic picnic along the island getting fresh ice was another ordeal and took me to ask three time and wait at the end. We returned day three no room services no fresh towels called reception said someone would be straight up no one arrived. Next morning as we went to have breakfast in the neighbouring hotel we asked on the way out could we get our room serviced they said yes but it hadn't happened we went on our road trip which was great fun to get back to our room to it still not done and my service please card stood on the door 3 days now I was furious. I went to bed without. Next day last day we keep-getting letters under door saying good bye but we had told em we were staying for 4night. There was a presence from the general manager I met her twice at the Inn and one at the hotel but I'm not sure if the staff cared or not. The standard in Ireland even in a 3* is so much higher and guest comes first at all times.None the less for the price we paid and the location it certainly by far was not the worst place I've stayed in the Caribbean by no stretch. Not sure why a pre auth was taken when it was pre paid just record the number it's annoying waiting for the funds to reach the account again also. Plus forget about getting a glass of wine or a drinker the hotel at 10.30pm.
Stayed here recently for 3 nights - wished it could have been longer. The room was clean, spacious and well serviced. Breakfasts, which were plentiful, were taken at the Inn, whilst dinners were taken in the adjacent Bay Gardens Hotel. The food was excellent and plentiful. Staying at Bay Gardens Inn allows use of the Bay Gardens Hotel and the Bay Gardens Resort Complex and there is a free shuttle bus to connect with the Resort. Whatever one may say or describe about the Inn and the amenities, for me the over-riding feature was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - nothing was too much trouble.
