Bay Gardens Inn
- What's Included
From the moment we were welcomed by Austin and Alicia we felt at home. All the staff were friendly and helpful, whatever the time of day or night. Our accommodation on the upper floor (Room 256) was very comfortable and a problem was swiftly and convieniently dealt with by Cheryl. This was a special birthday holiday and my husband and myself and all the members of our family (The Ten!) were looked after superbly. The Inn was relaxed and quiet and it was a bonus to be able to use the facilities of the other 2 nearby hotels of the group. I would not hesitate to recommend any of the Bay Gardens Hotels and the beautiful island of St Lucia.
The room itself was basic, but everything worked ie. air conditioner, tv, shower, etc. nice balcony. pool is too shallow & small, great for kids and for adults to wade in. key did not work to our first room and had to be given another room. no spare & they had to make a duplicate before we could get another key to get into room. explained to both security and other front desk clerk about duplicate key and they knew nothing about it. no communication between staff..annoying, complained and were told manager would give us a call. never happened. would not stay at this hotel again...would stay right on the beach.
Very well kept hotel with fantastic staff. We have been to this hotel 4 times and have enjoyed every stay. The sunset is beautiful and it is great that you can walk to restaurants if you wish.Good water sports and our son had great fun on the splash park.
We had a great time staff was unbelievable helpful the place was clean and would go back there is plenty to do on the island of st. Lucia you can travel all day long as the food is great and the cost is cheap
There were cats roaming around everywhere. One person in our party was allergic to cats and this caused issues. The cats peed on and ruined 2 pairs of shoes. The room was not sealed very well. With the door shut, you could see quite large gaps around the door. This allowed numerous mosquitos in the room. If the rooms can't be sealed appropriately, then perhaps mosquito netting should be placed around the beds. Our room was advertised as ocean front. While you can see the ocean, it wasn't the best of views. The room was on the ground floor. There is a small fence so you can't see the beach at all from the room or balcony. You can see part of Rodney Bay over the fence. It was still a good view, but not as good as I was expecting. We were not fond of eating at the restaurants or bars. The waitstaff was not particularly friendly and everything was extremely slow. Every meal seemed to take at least 2 hours if not more. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7:30 and we had a tour that left at 8:15 one morning. Management told us that they were sorry, but the buffet was not ready yet and we needed to wait (This was at 7:30).We were not told about the orientation when we arrived. Later when we went to speak with the tour person, we were told that we should go to the orientation at 2 pm that day. We went at 2 pm and the concierge was eating lunch. We were told that she would meet us at the pool. She never came to meet us at the pool. There is a management party one night a week. The entertainment was in an extremely small area where not many people could actually see what was going on. Furthermore, the music was quite loud. We left the party since we couldn't see and you could hear the music from the party over the tv in our room. There are locals on the beach that follow you around and try to get you to pay for things like hats made out of grass. We just wanted to relax on the beach. We didn't want to be hounded by locals for money. The free water activities that they advertise are only available until 3 pm. The Splash Island water passes that they advertise are only good for 1 hour per night as far as I could tell. We were there for 6 nights and we got 6 1 hour passes. Each person uses an hour pass. This was not the relaxing vacation that I was hoping for. It was more stressful than I would have liked.
