The best place to stay!

Bay gardens delivers service with a touch of excellence. I am local and I get treated with much care and respect whenever I chose bay gardens. The place is always neat and quiet. The staff ate lovely and the food is great. I have never stayed at the beach resort however the inn and the hotel are beautiful and I would have no doubt that the beach resort would be the same or better. I always enjoy my stay at bay gardens and I think that anyone who chooses this place will enjoy it too.

Average hotel but beware--check your bill!

If you need somewhere just to sleep and shower, this place will do just fine however I do have this story:I booked this hotel online on their website and put a deposit down before I got there and was expecting to pay $133 USD for the remainder of my stay as per my invoice. However, when I arrived I was shocked to find out that they wanted to charge me a whopping $285! Now they will try to trick you because they charge in EC (Eastern Caribbean Dollars) and hope you don't catch on. I knew the exchange rate was about 3:1 and knew this wasn't right but I didn't want to argue it right then because I had to meet up with some other people that day. So when I was checking out I asked the attendant at the front desk about it and I showed her my invoice. She was a sweet lady but clearly had no idea what to do. She was on the phone with management or reservations or someone for a good 20 minutes. I couldn't wait any longer because I had a taxi to catch to the airport so I told her to print out my final receipt. This was important and I'm glad I did. They wanted to charge me what amounts to $60+ for EACH DAY of breakfast. I don't think so. I was fully prepared to fight it when I got home to the States and dispute it with my card company had nothing been resolved. However when I landed in the States I checked my email and it's a good thing I did because they said they had "made an error" and refunded me $135.20, which took a few days to post to my credit card. This didn't bring it down to the $133 I expected to pay but I did have breakfast every day so I figure that covers it.Had I not said anything or checked my bill I would have never caught this. This was not just the only occurrence in St. Lucia either. If you look like a tourist you WILL be ripped off. This is a fact. This island is not tourist friendly. Everywhere from taxis to ice cream stores to guys on the beach selling coconuts and this hotel try to rip you off. I was here for a friend's wedding but needless to say I will not be returning to this island ever again. This hotel is within walking distance of the main street that has different shops and things but I would not go out after dark. It is also across the street from the Bay Gardens Hotel which is slightly more upscale than this but not as nice as the Bay Gardens Resort which you need a shuttle to get to.The breakfast was in the hotel across the street, the Bay Gardens Hotel so you have to walk over there every day if you want to eat.One other complaint I had about this place was there were all these tiny little bugs crawling around on the table by the TV. They appeared harmless as they were smaller than ants and they weren't near the bed it was just gross because I had my stuff up there. Also there is a giant window in the bathroom. Close this as much as possible and close the bathroom door when you are not in there or your A/C will be useless when you return to your room. Why they need a gigantic window in there I do not know. That's also probably how the bugs got in.When I was there I didn't see another guest ever so I don't know if I was the only one there or not but they gave me a street view room which was not great. They had already booked me into a room so I did not get to tell them I wanted a pool view. The wifi was fair, not great but not bad.A/C was great in fact it got chilly if you put it too low.

Perfect hotel.

This was my 4th stay at this hotel, and I keep going there every time I go to St. Lucia because it suites me just fine, as everything is within walking distance of the hotel ie shops, restaurants etc.I have even joined their loyalty club and have become a gold member.

business trip

Stayed at Bay Gardens Inn. Room is adequate for business travel.Had breakfast at the Hotel. is quite filling and varieties are great....kept me through my meetings. Dinner at the hotel was quite nice as well...I are the snapper dish which was amazing. It was a two day business trip and overall my stay was worth the room rate paid. I would recommend the hotel for business or pleasure.I have already recommended it to two friends.
