As a family we have been to many different all inclusive resorts. We picked this one due to all the high ratings. In some areas we were pleased but others were lacking or poor. We booked the family concierge and were impressed at the speed of check in, offered a glass of bubbly (no wet towels to refresh us though) and the kids got some fruit punch. Arshan was our concierge. Part of this service is that the restaurants are booked for you so we didn't have to worry about making reservations. We asked for milk for our room but this didn't arrive until the second day. The rooms are extremely basic. This is no 4 star hotel. I've seen better bathrooms in the Best Western! Our room was freezing and we suffered extreme condensation in our room when we turned the air conditioning off. Our thermostat was unreadable so we had to get maintenance in to have a look. As mentioned by some one else, the balcony was really small. We loved being on the 4th floor but there wasn't enough room for our party of 4 to sit out and enjoy the view.We had planned this trip as a birthday celebration for our little girl. We had asked for balloons and a cake to be set up on two occasions and was told all was set. When we turned up at the restaurant, they had no clue and therefore there was no special table nor any balloons. Disappointing to say the least. After going down to concierge to complain, Ima sorted out the balloons and table, brought us a bottle of non-alcoholic champagne for the table and organized the staff to sing happy birthday. Thank you Ima for saving the day. We were actually disappointed in the two restaurants we visited, the food was mediocre on both nights. In fact the buffet was much better. The reason for our not so high rating is based mostly on food and accommodation. We attended the Wild West evening, the main singer was fabulous, the band great and the food was very nice. Jay J and Zee in entertainment were fabulous and our girls had so much fun dancing with them. Although we didn't go on any excursions, Edmund was full of knowledge and it was great chatting to him about island life. The kids club is in dire need of a paint job and face lift but it does what it says on the tin. There is a large splash area for kids along with a ship climbing frame. The kids were given a hat, t-shirt and backpack to keep and at the end of our stay they were given an photo album with all the activities they were involved in. A lovely touch. Kids will enjoy the water slides, there are two and a lazy river to relax in with a mini waterfall like feature that gets you wet every time!Drinks are very good here, with loads of premium labels. You can also enjoy fresh coconut water and sugarcane juice at the resort. It's windy on this side of the island so be prepared. Also there is a lot of sea grass on the beach so we only went to the beach on one day. The hotel does try to clean this is up with tractors. To get some relaxation we went over to the adult side of the resort. This was a quiet oasis with sun beds that face right at the sea. Pure bliss! Thanks to Kay and Persha for looking after us. Trudy is the restaurants was wonderful and so too were Jenna and Andrea at breakfast. A shout out to Randell on towels, Lindell who kept the area spotless, Eulia and Nasha and the whole kids club crew for looking after our girls so well.Just a note, if your package holiday tries to charge you extra for a shuttle to and from the hotel, the actual hotel provides this service for free. The hotel is only about 5 mins from the airport.
Just returned from a week's stay at Coconut Bay Resort in St. Lucia. Other than the rain for a couple days, we had a wonderful time. The resort is first class all the way, from arrival to departure, every detail was taken care of. We booked into the Harmony side and took advantage of the concierge level of service. Eric met us as the cab dropped us off. Got us a glass of champagne and sat us down to register. Registering was simply getting our keys and going over the itinerary already set up for us. Eric explained the resort layout, saw us to our room, answered our questions and made us feel welcomed. The staff was the easiest to work with of any resort that I've visited. An example, we booked a Sea and Land tour through Coconut Bay. When we left the dock, it was pouring rain. We sailed across to the snorkeling locations only to discover the weather was too bad to continue the tour. We were simply bussed back to the resort. Upon arrival guest were either rescheduled for another day or given a full refund. There was no fuss from the resort to pressure us into another tour. Customer service was their goal and they surpassed it.I've visited several all inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean before. After a few days the food tends to be all the same. Not so at Coconut Bay. Each day the buffet has different choices. The food is fresh. The service is excellent. Our first night was a "western" BBQ night. The steak and the tuna steak were some of the best I've tasted. You certainly do not go hungry or suffer a lack of variety. Coconut Bay is an excellent resort. Well staffed and well run.
We have just completed a week at CB. Overall it was okay. The room we booked (concierge suite with a king bed and a trundle bed) was not what we were given upon arrival, but I must say the resort was quick to correct. The room was freezing, and due to the lack of screens on the sliding doors to our balcony, we could not opt for fresh air! The room itself was okay, average for sure, and not what I'd expect from a concierge suite, especially as compared to other suites at similarly priced resorts in st Lucia, where we have been coming for 6 years. Balcony was WAY to small for 4 people!Kids activities were okay with the water slides and lazy river being on their favourite list of activities. Pools were okay, not dirty, but not clean either, and overall the grounds and pool were showing their age and are in need of a facelift. Restaurants were also okay. Nothing to make you ill, the odd item that was great, and lots of the same old. The jerk chicken shack by the pool was the best. Silk and calabash were over rated and freezing! And no one but us adhered to the dress code which was annoying. Beach was covered in sea grass, but if you walked far enough down there was clear, shallow water and a lovely beach bar!Entertainment was also ok. Handy given proximity to the airport, but frankly I'd prefer driving the 1-2 hours to the other side of the island for a nicer hotel. Windjammer suits the bill, and next time we will likely return there. Off site excursion was great. And, when my husband was stung in the lobby the bottle of champagne delivered to our room was a nice touch. All in all, okay.
We came here as a group of approx 45 for my granddaughters wedding. Arrival....excellent, transfers immediately available and as one steps out at the hotel we were greeted with a cocktail or refreshment and cooling towels. Check in... friendly and hassle free.Rooms very spacious and well equipped, bathroom probably needing a little attention around grouting although it was obvious ongoing work was being done within the hotel. Staff... excellentPools etc.... plenty of choice, loved the pool bar and lazy river.Beach.... gorgeous, ok some turtle grass. but continuous cleaning ongoing, so natural. Bonus being a little bar at the end with a girl playing great music and full of fun.Food.... Absolutely loads of choice, breakfast, fresh fruit, fresh smoothie s, freshly prepared omelettes, and much more.....Lunch, loads of choice and jerk chicken by the pool. Dinner, great choice buffet or 3 speciality restaurants.Entertainment... good on Saturday and Tuesday maybe could do with a bit more other evenings.THE WEDDING.... Amazing from start to finish. The hotel did an excellent job. Thank you.
We had high expectations for this hotel, unfortunately if missed the mark by several yards. Our holiday was riddled with 'petty thefts', staff who couldn't give a monkeys and a lift, that when it was working, was possessed by belzelbub himself. The staff didn't seem capable of coping with the rain, and the girl in the 'Rum Bar' must have had tunnel vision, because I was invisible to her.The food's okAsk for the specific vodka/rum/whisky you want or you'll get the nasty stuffThe evening's entertainment feels like an afterthought.Keep your receipts for EVERYTHING, including the internet, which they tried to charge us for twice. You don't get hassled on the beach by hawkers, which is good.
