This review is solely for the experience we had at the water sports area down on the beach that is included with the resort. Lots of fun kayaking a few times but when the water had finally calmed a little (it was super windy during our stay) I finally got to paddle board. That was made possible by Randy!! He was amazing helping me out! I love paddle boarding but had never done it in an ocean. Randy helped me tremendously and went above and beyond! He could have given me the equipment and told me to go have fun but he made sure it was a wonderful experience. When you stay at Coconut Bay- head down to the water sports and look for Randy!
Stay on the upper side of the island for nicer accommodations!! Mt. Piton is GREAT for climbing - for avid hikers! The island is 'cleaner' than the other nearby islands (aka less drugs). Car dumps plentiful, taking away from what could have been a very beautiful island!! The volcanic mud was interesting, but almost like area was made just for tourists - big turn-off to us!! The FLOWERS/ PLANTS were gorgeous!!About Coconut Bay Resort: refurbished since our family went I heard, so it may be nicer. Everyone in the hotel was saying their AC was not coming on and was very hot indoors, but ours seemed okay. - the entertainment and food was okay - we didn't even take pictures of either! The resort staff didn't go out of their way to help to make our visit personalized, not what we would call 'hospitality'. We had restaurant reservations with another family we'd met. It turned out we needed one extra seat. They were not willing to accommodate, so it turned out I volunteered to stay out & eat elsewhere. About one hr.later, I decided to go up & see if I could just sit and chat with our new friends. I was amazed. My party said there were all kinds of room AND empty seats available. :-( They had told me they were booked to capacity, but not according to my family/ friends. As far as this resort, the beach is very narrow - so if you are staying here for beach, don't! Would we go back? Not when there are nicer places and friendly people to offer us a quality vacation spot.
This was our first all-inclusive resort to stay at... ever. It was our honeymoon, and we were looking for some place tropical. St. Lucia came to mind with its beautiful land. We were torn between Sandals & Coconut Bay. We chose Coconut Bay not because they were cheaper (by far, they were), but because it was on the other side of the island, away from the touristy area. It was a great decision. The airport is literally only a few minutes away, but the planes are not a distraction when they take off, and only happen in the mid-afternoon with a few in the evening. The accommodations were very clean and modern. They have the 110v amp for Americans to plug in their chargers. The a/c always kept it cool inside while outside remained a constant 85-87 through the day, and late 70's to early 80's at night. There was always a breeze from the Atlantic to keep you cool, and this place is great for sunrises. As for the stay, the food was fantastic. All restaurants presented their food that even Gordon Ramsay would be proud of. Even the buffet didn't sacrifice quality with fresh food choices daily. The staff was exceptional. They were all friendly and helpful. Many of the bartenders were a riot and deserve a mention. Even cleaners and maintenance workers were all friendly offering a hello as we pass by them. There are at least 5 pools each unique in their own way. Two hot tubs, over a half dozen bars, and numerous restaurants. Even though the sun sets much earlier than the States, there was always something to do at night, with themed nights, live music, and other entertainment, you'll never be bored (or thirsty, or hungry). The beach is about a mile long, so if you like long walks on the beach, you can explore their property and it'd take a good chunk of your day. I'd definitely recommend this place to visit if looking for an all-inclusive. The pricing is especially an attractive feature. The ocean isn't the cleanest because of the choppy water, but the pools more than make up for it.
We stayed for 6 days, this place was well worth the value! All meals and food included in the concierge service (Highly recommend it). There is a water park for the kids, Kit surfing, Adult section with separate pools, a Spa and four onsite restaurants! This place is awesome! The coolest thing is around 3pm you get to see two-three jets fly off the island each day! It's a 5 mins drive to the airport! We will be visiting again.
We have visited many of the Caribbean islands before including St Lucia, I have to say this is one of if not the best hotel we have stayed at. Transfer: is five minutes from the airport which is superb after a long flight.Check in: The front desk staff could learn from the other staff at this resort and smile a bit more, they seemed very unhappy and on a few occasions they rolled there eyes at us when asked a question, not good, however this was the only negative part of my holiday.Room: we stayed on the ground floor of the harmony side, the room was perfectly adequate in every way, not dated at all as some reviews would suggest, the housekeeping of the room was spot on, always cleaned in the morning to a very high standard, fresh bottles of water left daily and lovely towel art, thank you to our housekeepers Kedy and Sarah NeptuneBars: all bars had an excellent range of drinks as well as outstanding service from the staff, they are super friendly and very efficient, I cannot remember having an empty glass, big thanks to Natasha, Dillan, and PrincessFood: Coconut walk the main Buffett is superb, we tried the breakfast lunch and dinner here and couldn't fault the food or the service, big thanks to the chefs, and waiting staff Bertha, Kenny, Brad and Yoshi.Capri: again cannot fault the food or the service, we had the rib eye steak which was superb, we also liked the help yourself antipasto station, big thanks to the chefs, also Etto and Rhyim.Calabash: again great food and service but I only ate here once.Silk: we only ate here once, this was our least favourite, however what we had was good, so was the servicePools: always clean and plenty of sun beds available, big thanks to Dana for waiting on us for our drinksEntertainment: there is entertainment every evening, our favourites were the themed nights, the Caribbean and the country and western were superb, especially the whiskey song, make sure you don't miss either of these or the Friday night chocolate party, Concierge: We mainly dealt with Alden, he was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Thanks Alden.SERENITY: We had the pleasure of spending our last two nights at the new serenity section of the hotel, WOW, this is amazing, definitely stay here if you are celebrating a special occasion it is out of this world and you get treated like royalty, all the staff cannot do enough for you, they are amazing, big thanks to Bernard the manager of serenity, he is always around to ensure guests are having the times of there lives, he always takes time to speak to you personally and always says if you need anything to let him know, Thanks Bernard.Suites: Very spacious, your own private courtyard with sun beds, hammock, plunge pool, outside shower, outside bar, dining area, inside you have a huge four poster bed, rainfall and normal shower big enough for four people, luxury bath, he's and hers sinks, Molton brown products and of course your very own butlers who will take care of your every need. Big thanks to Tony, Vince and Melvin the butlers, Bar: great service great drinks, excellent cocktails. Thanks Jermie and Lez Great house: outstanding food and service thanks to all the waiters and waitresses Pool: spectacular I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat.
