We recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Coconut Bay, Harmony. We had the best 2 weeks ever, hotel, staff and amenities were excellent. Thanks to the following staff for making our holiday so memorable: Dona D in the adult piano bar, Sonn and Jade in the Lobby bar, Mitch and Dylan at the pool bar, Kenny in the restaurant and not forgetting Ketra our house keeper for the daily towel sculptures you are so talented! Hotel was very clean, towels changed daily. All staff very welcoming, lots of activities and evening entertainment was great! Food and drink excellent! Sunset cruise and volcano/mud bath were are favourite excursions, these are a must - we found booking through hotel cheaper than out your rep! Nerve taxi drivers were fantastic, full of knowledge and very funny! Plenty of sun beds across the grounds, pools are lovely and maintained daily. We met some amazing people from across the world. We will definitely be back, hopefully in 5 years to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and my husbands 50th. Thank you once again to all the staff who made our holiday a trip of a life time and one we will never forget xx
Positives -This resort has a lot going for it and it ticked all the boxes for our family of 4. My 13 year old boy loved it the most playing basketball football, pool etc... and it was really easy for him to meet other kids his age. Our 2 year old also had a great time she loved the pools as they were shallow and she enjoyed going to the splash park and she went to kids club most days which gave us some time to relax by the beach or the adult only pool which was a real treat! We also used the babysitter Zina one evening and she was great! There really was something for all of us. The staff are mostly helpful and nice the cocktails are really good.... by this I mean proper cocktails, so be careful! 😀 the Reggae party on the beach was so much fun and the outdoor BBQs where also good and actually serve better food then the restaurants! The the couples massage was heaven and we had a nice private meal on our anniversary, our waitress Gina was lovely but the food....... starters were.... how do I put this... terrible. Some other notes -What does need to be said about this resort is that it is a windy resort, great for kite surfing (which we don't do) so it can get annoying. We had 4 really calm days that were wonderful but I think we were lucky, but most of them were windy. The beach is totally underrated we walked down to the the end most days and it is so picturesque, beautiful white sand and turquoise water. The staff work so hard all day long cleaning it up. We felt messed around by the tour concierge that ruined a birthday trip out, so we were disappointed with him and felt he not listen to our needs despite the fact we spent over $500 on extra activities, so this did leave us quite disgruntled, we would of rather paid for a private boat trip then be on a boat with 15 people. He mislead us. His bad organising meant we spent 3 hours of our holiday sitting in a car on the same road, listening to the same tour. Time is too precious when you are on holiday. And lastly, It would be really wonderful if there were more options for lunch. I really disliked eating breakfast and lunch at the buffet. As it's indoors dark and hot and especially when you go away you really want to eat outdoors - al fresco and make the most of your time away. So we ate mostly at the beach bar which only served burgers, pizza and a really boring green salad. Extremely Carbtastic! (Very little options for me as I don't eat meat) after 10 days I was so bored of chips as the pizza oven broke. The veg wrap was inedible. More options for lunch and breakfast please! The food overall was good and fresh and they make an effort. Personally all of the starters in all of the restaurants were just plain weird. The Asian, they are trying but it's awful. Sushi is the only decent thing. They definitely need a food advisor to come and bring the menus up to date. Some things they do really, really well and others terrible. So strange. All in all fantastic value for money and worth every penny. Thank you coconut beach resort I can see you all always looking to improve and you all work so hard. It's a great resort and we will be back! P.S - look out for the wonderful local artist Antoinette next to the stairs, her art is very special and we bought a piece and it looks even more amazing when we got it home. One Love ❤️
We are just at the end of a week's stay at the Coconut Bay, travelling as 2 adults and a 13 year old so on the Splash side. In just under an hour from the wheels touching the tarmac at St Lucia airport we were in the sun round the pool. A massive plus. Fuss free immigration, short transfer and quick check in, all good. The hotel is a 4 star, I'd probably go for 3.5. We had a concierge room and like the rest of the hotel, some investment is needed to bring the hotel back up to scratch. Everything is looking a little tired and on occasions the pool was actually dirty which for me is a massive issue. On the positives, the staff are mostly smiley and work extremely hard. The food was good, even in the buffet which can often let a hotel down. There is always enough choice and a number of dishes made fresh to order in front of you. The lunch time stir fry was my personal favourite. It's tricky to entertain a 13 year old but she usually found people to hang out with playing pool, foosball or table tennis. Not lots to do in the evening but the singers were all good. Many people have commented about the easy availability of sun beds and that is totally true. When we arrived on the first day at 2.15 there were loads available and we never found the need to 'reserve' beds (although inevitably there are always some people who do!). We really enjoyed our stay but probably wouldn't return.
We had a wonderful week in St Lucia in early February. As Coconut Bay was super close to the airport, it meant we had a welcome drink in hand within minutes of leaving it (forget a long drive after a long flight). The staff really made this hotel feel extra special - so laid back, relaxed and friendly. We stayed in a junior suite in the Harmony wing and loved it! The hotel is on the south side of the island which means its more windy but the plus side of this is that it doesn't feel humid. We enjoyed that! The hotel has a stunning private beach, a good variety of food and plenty of tour excursions on offer. We took up a private tour (couples escapade) and it was perfect. We drove around the island in a air-conditioned car, stopping off at beautiful spots and gaining all the stories of the island from our tour guide/ driver. He was that fantastic that we asked for him again when going out on a full day tour later on in the week (ask for Kenton!) I'd have no hesitation in booking this hotel again.
This was our 3rd visit to Coconut Bay, and it lived up to our expectations once again. From the moment you arrive you are greeted warmly, (Arshan was great), and all you have to do is relax and enjoy. Another bonus is that it is only a 5 minute drive from the airport. Although there is nothing else in the immediate area, there is plenty to do on the resort, (for example choosing from 4 restaurants), and lots of island excursions available, and the quietness of the area adds to the ambience. The only minor complaint this year, (which we didn't find in previous visits), is that around the harmony pools and sun areas, some of the guests were quite noisy and not very considerate of the other guests, and the hot tub was in use until very late into the evening and again could be very noisy. Maybe we were just a bit unlucky this year, but perhaps the hotel management will note this and do something to keep a closer eye on things and ameliorate the nuisance in future.
