The picture online don't do it justice. We've traveled to many places throughout the world and without a doubt this is the most unique. From the open air rooms to the infinity pools, the architecture and service, it's truly a once in a limestone vacation.
Just arrived here again after a few years and i must say even the second time you see the view, it blows you away. Doesn't really matter what sanctuary you are in for the view since it's amazing anywhere. The place can compete with anything and everything. Great for total peace and relaxation.
Having enjoyed staying twice at Ladera, the other no-fourth-wall resort on St. Lucia, we were excited to finally stay at Jade Mountain. We saved ourselves a lengthy drive by taking a helicopter transfer from the airport, and the dramatic approach to this gorgeous spot was unforgettable. The building and the setting are magnificent and we absolutely loved the view from our Sun sanctuary, which we could easily have never left and been quite content. Our in-room pool was enormous and the room itself -- one of the prettiest we've seen anywhere -- was very comfortable. Also, the grounds of the extended resort, including Anse Chastenet at the base of the hill, are beautiful and well worth exploring. (The gray sand beach, however, is nothing special, and we spent no time there.) Jade Mountain's sanctuaries have dedicated butlers, known here as major domos, who were very professional and competent, particularly Roland. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. So much is right about Jade Mountain; there are just a few things that could stand improvement. Service in the restaurant was at times inconsistent. On some occasions bar service was very slow although we were the only guests present, and several of the servers at dinner, while pleasant, were inexperienced. They forgot to bring things we ordered, did not know what the dishes contained when we needed to know whether ingredients to which we are allergic were included, and generally seemed a bit awkward in the role. Better training of staff would be helpful in this regard. The food is very good but not great, and due to the isolated setting you're not likely to go anywhere else to eat when staying here (other than down the hill to Anse Chastenet). It is worth getting the all-inclusive meal plan which covers nearly all of your food and a decent selection of, though by no means all, alcoholic beverages. The resort's website, however, is very opaque about the all-inclusive option and we weren't even aware of its existence until we got to the resort. Ask about it and go for it, and you'll save a lot of money, especially on drinks. All this being said, the natural beauty of Jade Mountain's peaceful setting and the pampering in-room service make it hard to resist...so we plan to return. Despite its mild shortcomings, there is nowhere else like Jade Mountain.
Jade MountainWe have just returned from an amazing week spent at Jade Mountain. If you are considering spending the money at some other resort, stop looking at them now and book at Jade Mountain. It is everything you are looking for. You can have any vacation you want here- pampered and private, or active and adventurous. The resort IS a (beautiful) maze of stairs, but the payoff for all the climbing is the spectacular views from all levels. All of the rooms have three walls with the fourth a wide-open view of the Pitons, but the privacy is fantastic- it isn’t possible for guests in one room to see into any other. Rooms have chaises, couches, beds etc. from which to take in view - not to mention your own infinity pool or Jacuzzi. There is yoga every day (multiple offerings), mountain biking, as well as hikes and walks of all levels, not to mention scuba and snorkeling. Yoga on the rooftop was wonderful- great for any level. There is a gym with a variety of cardio and weight/strength training options. We did a shore dive off the beach and loved it- while we opted not to do a ton of dives this trip, I can tell you I enjoyed this one dive more than any I had in Bonaire. I’m looking forward to returning and visiting other dive sites! We enjoyed a variety of spa treatments (pedicure, massages, body scrubs) and each was fantastic. The food was very good at the Jade Club. For us it was the little things (e.g. always perfectly poached eggs, spectacular shrimp every time, etc.) that revealed the talent of the chef. The menu changes every day, and the team was very accommodating of allergies or ensuring vegetarian options were available. Across the resort, we felt the service was excellent. Everyone greets you with a smile, from housekeeping and security to the managers and owners. Our major domo (butler) and her colleagues were unfailingly attentive, polite, upbeat and responsive. Any question we had or request we made was addressed in a fast and friendly manner, and we felt they genuinely wanted to help in any way. The wait staff in the restaurant felt like great friends by the end of the week, and the sommelier was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. As a guest at Jade Mountain, you also have access to all the amenities at Anse Chastanet. One question I had prior to visiting was beach access: YES, you can walk to the beach. It is down a hill and many stairs, but there are two beaches belonging to the two resorts. The second, Anse Manin, is more quiet, but has a bar and small restaurant to fortify you for more swimming and lounging. For those that prefer not to walk down the steps, shuttles are readily available. Attire? You'll want smart resort wear for meals in the Jade Club, but dining options at Anse Chastanet are more casual. A cover-up is expected for Apsara (Indo-Caribbean option on the beach). In short, we had a spectacular experience at Jade Mountain- one of the most special rooms we have enjoyed in our travels, utter relaxation, mixed with fun adventures. Ringing in New Years with the Jade Mountain family was something we won’t soon forget.
My wife and I spent a magical 5 days at Jade Mountain. The rooms at the resort are magnificent and truly are sanctuaries. The in room furnishings are luxurious and the infinity pool is over the top, with a glorious view of the two Piton Mountains of St. Lucia. The restaurant, The Jade Club, is world class with the menu reflecting fresh local cuisine. But the best part of Jade Mountain is the staff. Everyone at the resort was very welcoming and truly happy to help make our vacation wonderful in any way possible. I recommend Jade Mountain to anyone looking for an exceptional Caribbean Vacation.
