It is the staff that make this hotel so good - the location is OK - close to Castries but we were warned by the security guard that the beach beyond the hotel limits wasn't safe - paradoxically he also said it wasn't dangerous as well! this was a minor point though as we always felt safe on the islandthe serving staff in the restaurant were very prompt and soon got to know you - the 'Egg Lady' at breakfast was marvellous " Good Morning. How are you? How was your night?". Generally the food was good - italian night was a bit of a disaster though - the other nights were good. the Trysting Place was high end dining as was the toes in the sand restaurant at the other end of the resort - our favourite, but you do have to book it early because it is so popular in the evenings.I completed my dive certification whilst there and the dive shop guys were excellent - one even returned to the dive site to retrieve my camera which I had inadvertently dropped during a wreck dive. the lazy river was our favourite spot during the day and the ultra friendly drinks man was brilliant - he seemed to know just when you were thinking about another drink and appeared to take your order - after 2 days he saw we were there and within minutes had replenished the empties and added some water as well so we didn't get de-hydrated. we went to the 'bubbles and sand' on the beach to watch the sunset whilst sipping champagne which was very romantic with the cool looking sax player ( we referred to it as 'Sax on the Beach')All in all a very relaxing holiday - St Lucia is very expensive generally we found. Would definitely like to come back to sit on the Lazy River for a few days of R & R.
Visited this resort on a day pass($65pp) while stopping in St Lucia on a cruise. Convenient location is near cruise port/city of Castries on a large stretch of beach. Grounds are perfectly manicured, clean, and there is a quiet/relaxed feel to the resort. If you're looking for loud music, games, or parties, this is not the place for you. Food was good and they offer a large mid tier selection of drinks including many local options(beer, wine, liquor). Staff was very friendly and attentive to guest needs. Would recommend for honeymooners or couples looking to relax!
I would really like to give this a 4.5* review but I do feel there are just a couple of minor issues that prevented it being a truly 5* resort. My husband and I just returned from a much needed relaxing one week trip at the lovely Rendezvous resort. After a longish journey from the airport, ending up stuck in traffic in Castries, I was a tad worried how close the resort was to the airport. How silly of me! The resort was incredibly peaceful other than the rare sound of a plane, and although the locals do use the beach (all beaches are public in St Lucia) it didn't prevent guests from using the facilities and didn't ever feel unsafe or invasive. We paid the extra for a garden view verandah suite which was a lovely, large room. Unlike some other rooms it was situated on a quiet path behind the lazy river so we felt quite secluded when we sat out on the patio. It was helpful to have the two wardrobe, especially if you were there for two weeks. Also, I loved the giant bath! However, the tiled floor was never quite as clean as I would have liked. There were often random clumps of dark hair (my husband and I are blonde) which I think came from ineffective mopping. Also the soft furnishings could do with a deep clean. A warning that this isn't the type of room for shy couples! There bathroom is open plan and the toilet is behind a glass plated door so you will hear everything.I've reviewed the restaurants separately but the food and drink supply seem endless. A general comment on the food is that the cheese is the same in every restaurant (a range of the same 3/4 basic and not great cheese) and the bread always seemed stale. However, the pool bar is great (loved the super friendly barman) and we loved the cocktails throughout. Try the Rendezvous Bay Watch! The Champagne Bar was brighter than the photos look so I would recommend trying the tasting hour, and we really enjoyed the manager's cocktail hour on the Wednesday night on the lawn.I agree with other reviews that the service is very good and the staff are warm and friendly, although we didn't get to know any of the staff by name unlike some other reviewers. There are a huge amount of activities to get involved in if you wish so I would recommend going to orientation to understand where everything is and how the resort operates. A couple of organisers were a tad over enthusiastic but it was fun to try archery and we really enjoyed our snorkelling trip (Judy was fantastic). The spa treatments were also very good, although a tad pricey. Pre-book for a 15% discount! The landscaping and beach area are gorgeous! Both pool areas and the more private lazy river are clean and we were always able to get beds. The towels ran out at the main pool most days but there were other supplies and the resort is very walkable. Overall a wonderful stay and very close to a 5* resort. Very much worth the money given everything is included. I would certainly recommend and am very tempted to return myself.
We really enjoyed the Rendezvous, beautiful gardens, comfy cottage on the beach & wonderful food. The staff are lovely, they learn your name & everyone of them has a huge smile & a friendly word.We were impressed by the quality & range of food. From Veronica, the hardest working person in the world at the breakfast egg bar to delightful waitresses, Frances with her smily face, all of them contributed to our enjoyment. We ate at the Malabar restaurant a couple of nights, on the beach & excellent food, but book early as it fills up quickly. We had one night in the Trysting Place. Not so much atmosphere, inside, rather plain, food was OK but nothing special. The Terrace restaurant was main place for meals & very good.Clean beach although sea was always quitae rough & no opportunity to snorkel.Well appointed cottage (150) fast wifi, comfy bed & good toiletries REN.We look forward to returning soon as so many of the guests do.
Two weeks spent in this wonderful place was heaven. After arriving at the hotel from the the heliport we were greeted like royalty. Taken to the room and were asked for our approval before letting us sink on the most largest and comfortable bed I've ever slept on. Everything was spotless and the luxury of a day bed on the veranda was amazing. The view over the lush garden and on to the beach and sea was a bonus. We had decided to renew our wedding vows while we were there and everything went so smoothly thanks to Sandra. She, along with Libby, the sommelier, made our day so special. There were plenty of loungers for everyone if you were flexible with beach or pool so we didn't have a problem. Food was amazing in all three restaurants with a mixture of buffet and al la carte, catering for all types of dietary needs. From blankets and bubbles on the beach to watch the sun go down, to the local children from a special needs school playing steel drums and the Police band wowing everyone with their music. We went on two trips booked through the hotel, with only one other couple joining us and our tour guide Natalie who was very sweet and professional. A special thanks to Michelle for providing the port to go with the cheese board at the end of some of our meals. The drinks are top shelf ,as is the wine, and plentiful. I really loved the champagne bar and the explanation of the champagne we were drinking each evening, I apologise for not remembering his name. I cannot find any negatives about this place and it has certainly lived up to my expectations having been reading all the reviews on TripAdvisor I'm so glad we had this experience. Thanks to you all at The Rendezvous for a holiday I will remember for the rest of my life.
