We went to This place when it was called Couples back in 1987.and returned over the next 5 years it was Excellent than as it seems to be now We got married there in Nov 1989.family now grown up and got and will 110% be going back there.
we returned from the Rendezvous 6 days ago. I have tried for the last six days to write a review for the resort. I'm not sure exactly how to put into words what a wonderful vacation the Rendezvous provided for us. We don't like the bigger all inclusive resorts and wanted something more peaceful and quiet, this was a perfect place for peace and quiet.Weeks, maybe months before visiting we received an email from the 'vacation specialist' Tamara. She welcomed us to the resort and inquired about any thing she could do for us or provide for us upon our arrival. Over the next few weeks I contacted her many times with questions or concerns; Tamara responded almost immediately thoroughly answering all our questions. Tamara arranged our helicopter transfer (which was well worth the expense). She made our first dinner reservation for us for the night we arrived. Upon arrival to the resort Tamara met us and informed us we had been upgraded to the beach front cottage. It was heavenly. We were on the resort but had extreme privacy. The beach was exact 11 steps from our door. We had our own beach chairs and umbrella. The beach service constantly brought us drinks even if we didn't ask Gia provided us with non alcoholic drinks and water. Every single meal we had on the resort was fantastic. The steak at the trysting place was cooked perfectly. The Malabar was equally as good for lunch and for dinner. The wine choices were excellent quality, especially the Malbec. My favourite thing was the late afternoon snack, the woman that served it daily was soooo sweet. Another name to mention is Michelle the server; such an amazing personality. The amount of activities to do at this resort was endless. We rode bikes into Castries with Makeen. He gave us a tour of Castries which was fun. All the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The grounds on this resort were lush, tropical, and immaculate. The gym was sufficient. The both pools were well kept; we preferred the pool by the spa. The pool bar pool was never loud with drunks or blaring music. I am amazed with any negative reviews I have read on trip advisor. Some complained about the airport nearby. It was literally 8 seconds of noise maybe 3-4 times a day, so ridiculous to complain about. There was no mini bar in the room, this wasn't a big deal for us the bar was seconds away. Another complaint I have read is the fact there are locals on the beach. Every beach in st.lucia is public. The locals are extremely friendly if you speak to them. Some seemed surprised when we said hello. There was no issue with any of these people. I ran the beach solo early in the am with no fear or problems from locals. The children we encountered were EXTREMELY well behaved. I didn't see one tamtrum or misbehaving child for 7 days. They are families and teens enjoying themselves and people that complain about them should not be on their island. I never felt uncomfortable on any part of the beach. We have always said we won't go to the same resort twice because there are so many places to visit however we will return to Rendezvous next year.
We came here 2 years ago and so when we decided to get married this was a natural choice for us. We have just returned home after 11 nights combining our wedding and honeymoon which exceeded expectations.Sandra takes care of every detail making the day really special - thank you so much ( and a thank you to Tamara)The staff here were as helpful and friendly as we remembered - the terrace bar team were amazing, the service at the pool and the beach was great and the terrace staff always welcoming. We went to the Trysting place twice and really enjoyed the quality of the service and the food. The addition of the Malabar was a real plus and we enjoyed lunch and dinner there on several occasions. We cannot fault one thing about our return visit and hope to come again soon.Brilliant!
Just returned from an 11 night stay where we were on honeymoon. The previous reviews created high expectations which were, for the most part, fulfilled or exceeded.LocationThe small airport did not bother us, with only a few planes leaving per day, resulting in noise only briefly. The hotel is just north of Castries, looking out on the Caribbean sea, and therefore ideally located. Traffic in Castries can be heavy, and the town has a decent marketAccommodationOur first floor garden room was very convenient for the lazy river, and spa pool. The room suited us fine and the daily cleaning was good. As another reviewer commented, there was generally sufficient hot water but there were a couple of occasions in the morning when there wasn’t. Adequate wifi reception in the room, apart from on one day.Dining3 options: Terrace, where breakfast is taken, also offering lunch and dinner options. Great beach bbq and west indian evening buffets. No booking required for this venue. In the evening, we went to the Malibar once, Trysting Place 5 times, and the Terrace for the rest. For lunch, we ate in the Malibar quite a bit, and Terrace now and again. All three were good. Fresh fish in the Malibar was excellent, and the quality of cooking and presentation are superb. The Trysting place is more fine Dining but again great (Harry the host provides a warm welcome on arrival)Staff, Special mentions probably unfair, as all were great, but,……..Activities – Adonis (Table Tennis, Casino), Pauline (Pilates, Yoga) Chantal (Aqua) all great, and Judy excellent (Scuba)Catering – Veronica (egg lady and griddle) was amazing, Frances lovely and ShannonBar – Glen/Papi (drinks, cold flannels around the spa pool and lazy river) was superb. Also Chris and Gilford at the Terrace Bar. And Sean at the excellent Champagne BarI agree with a previous reviewer that staff might benefit from wearing name badges, but I can see they may be reluctant. While we were there, we met some really lovely people and (having kept ourselves to ourselves in the past) found ourselves engaging with other guests far more. I put this down to the friendly & relaxed environment and the fact that the hotel attracts the more discerning customers. Guests were mainly from the UK (Letchworth, Tunbridge Wells, Sutton Coldfield, Farnham, Saffron Walden, Sheffield, London and Falkirk) but also lovely couples from Canada and Germany.A great holiday with little to fault, so we rate it 5/5
What can I say? WOW!!From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcomed and part of the Rendez Vous Family. All the staff were so professional without being 'commercial'. They all gave their all to their roles. Sandra, our wedding planner made sure that the special day went like clockwork. I had arranged for my hair and make up to be done by a local salon in Castries. Sandra came in the taxi with me to ensure all was ok.Maria's hair and beauty at Sans Souci, Castries did an amazing job.The whole week was amazing. Plenty of well thought out activities with lots of surprises to make our stay extra special. Worth every penny! Quality of facilities, service and food outstanding !Just one thing was the AC in the room not functioning but hey it's a hot country! Acclimatise ! Save the environment ... Sadly we lost our rings on the beach by accident. So if anyone happens to find them, please let us know !If you are considering a couples break, this is the place whether it's girlfriend/boyfriend, husband /wife, sisters, mum daughter etc this is the place of stolen time you will never forget as long as you live. Don't hesitate just book it now!!
