My wife and myself arrived at the Rendezvous sept 28 for a 2 week stay.Booked into a garden view room.On arrival were greeted and after a cocktail escorted to our room. Our luggage arrived a couple of mins later to our room and we didn't even identify which were our bags. Our room was what we expected, clean, airy & plenty of storage space. Bottle of champers also there as it was 25th wedding anniversary.Phone call after 10 mins asking if all was ok and that we had been booked into the Trysting place for evening meal.Wow, what a place the Trysting place is. Staff were amazing, the food fantastic, great wine list (lots to choose from the all inc wines and some that cost) and lovely cool air con.Harry is a star & thanks to Carmen who was our main waitress over the 2 weeks. Wine waiters etc also brill. We ate at the trysting place 5 times over the 2 weeks and were never disappointed.Up early the following morning to have a look about in the light. First impressions were OMG, wish I had booked 3 weeks instead 2.Hotel grounds, pool and facillities were as expected from all the photos etc seen online. In places it looked a little tired but can anywhere always have the "brand new feel"? we have been in brand new 4* hotels in Mexico that weren't in as good condition, and overall we were not disappointed. The Malabar restaurant was wonderful with great lunch and evening menus, again with great staff attitude and service.Pools were quite when we were there, and almost always could get sunbeds on the beach. Drinks were brought to you regularly, and cocktails were awesome.good breakfasts, lunch at the Terrace, but the only times we ate in the evening there was on the themed nights. lots of effort put into these nights by the staff and they didn't disapoint.Lots of watersports on offer at this resort. Due to a shoulder injury, I had to look on whilst other guests enjoyed water skiing, tubing, paddle boarding etc. However I did manage a few goes on the Hobie cats which was fun. Nice that they allowed them out in windy enough conditions to get them moving fast. (other water sport places that I've been to tend to say it to windy / you might capsize....grr thats what they are designed for I say)We went to the sister hotel (Body holidays) on our 6th day. $60us taxi both ways. A bit expensive for a 12 mile each way trip. Was it worth it....YES....so we went for a 2nd time on our next to last day. Just go......and you will not be disappointed. Tip. Go early for breakfast and come home late after evening meal. They have guest hospitality suites (luxury change rooms that you can leave all your stuff in lockable lockers) You could always find other couples to go and share the taxi fare if that puts you off.Only went on 1 trip booked through the desk near reception. Open topped landcover, visiting various places and back up the coast in a large catamaran. lovely day out to see the sights.Overall, one of the best holidays we've been on (and we been lucky enough to have many holidays abroad). Many thanks to all the staff for a fantastic holiday
Advertised as a 5* property, it does not come close. At best this should be graded as a 3*. The rooms are dated and tired, the water pressure is little more than a dribble from both the shower and the bath. Fixtures and fittings are worn, dirty and uncared for. It should be made clear that the beach is a public one that is POPULATED with loud locals at the weekend, dogs, donkeys and horses are walked up and down and whilst the locals are not permitted ON the loungers they can lie right next to them on the sand and the ineffective security guards do little to prevent it. The beach is not maintained or groomed as other 5* locations do. The sea was littered with rubbish floating; anything from cups & cans, crisp packets, cigarette stubs, carrier bags and 'personal items' ! There was building work underway on the beach right next to the beachfront accommodation. The 'entertainment' is woefully lacking and when it was evident, the low attendance made it toe curling awkward. Avoid the embarrassing casino night, if it does actually take place. The timings of events are never accurate so you will be left waiting in silent limbo. There are only 3 restaurants to choose from and whilst there is a large menu on offer, the quality of the food is poor, dried out and rubbery. The exception to the eating experience being Veronica the 'Egg Lady' on breakfast service, cheerfully cooking fresh dishes every morning. The Management, Reception and Front of House staff are utterly, utterly dreadful with an appalling "couldn't care less" attitude. Guests are treated as an interruption to their time and there is no interest in ensuring you are pampered and wooed in to returning. Perish the thought that you should have to raise an issue about your booking, your room, maintenance or account, their response is rude and arrogant.By complete contrast the serving staff are truly first class and were the only reason we and many other couples at the same time, didn't go home early. Matilda, Gio, Sarah, Johnice & Carmen genuinely go above and beyond in their duties attending to the guests. The Spa is a lovely attraction, set in a welcoming oasis of calm. Avril, Leona, Melissa and Maria are excellent therapists but making a booking is almost impossible so you should do so on-line in advance if you want any late afternoon appointments. If after reading this you still go ahead and book be sure to be vigilant about the definition of the room grade you reserve. The reception staff will tell you that the travel company use different descriptions of the room calibre and you will not given the grade you are expecting. Anyone that feels they have received a 5* experience at Rendezvous can never have stayed in a true 5* property with all the genuine, authentic, luxurious trimmings with ambassadors who deliver customer BLISS as part of their DNA. We will never return and feel we have been cheated out of our money by false promises and misrepresentation.
Just returned from a wonderfully relaxing week at Rendezvous. I didn't want to leave! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the fabulous staff did all they could to ensure we were happy and comfortable- even giving us a bottle of water as we boarded the transport to the airport. There are only three restaurants but don't let that put you off, as they are all excellent, and the Terrace Restaurant in particular has a different theme and menu each evening. Breakfast and lunch choices vary daily too and they are very good at accommodating food allergies, etc. We are at the Trysting Place a couple of times - superb food! The service at Rendezvous is fantastic - all the staff are fabulous! If I have to pick any for special mention then Gio, Guildford and Glen who look after you on the beach and pool areas are great! Attentive, friendly, efficient. The waiting team at the Terrace and Trysting Place restaurants were also exceptional. I also need to mention Pauline from the Activities team - her aqua fit sessions in the pool were fun but also proper workouts, and she made such a great effort on rainy afternoons to keep us entertained!Speaking of rainy afternoons, we had a lot of rain during our stay which meant that we couldn't always do what we wanted however this didn't retract from our ability to chill out and we still had an amazing time!I recommend the walk to Castries (one of the Activities team will escort you on the walk then leave you to it). Visit the food market in particular as it is fascinating. The Botanical walk in the hotel grounds was interesting too.We have been to St Lucia before so didn't do any trips this time but I'd recommend any day trips to the volcano/mud baths, the Pitons etc as it's a beautiful island with plenty to see.A few fellow guests had issues with their air con and the resort was actively trying to sort this. We had a leaky ceiling due to the exceptionally heavy rain but were moved to an upgraded room for our last two nights with no fuss!I would definitely recommend Rendezvous (over the Sandals Halcyon which we stayed at three years ago).
I have just returned from my second stay at the Rendezvous and it was just as good, if not better than the first time. The rooms have everything you need, the food is delicious in all three restaurants and there is always lots of activities and watersports to keep you busy. For me, it is is the staff that truly make your stay at the Rendezvous special, nothing is too much trouble and they are all warm and friendly. Special thanks to Kenzie, Chantal, Imran and Michelle in the Terrace for making our holiday so memorable. Thanks again for a great holiday!
If you want the bright lights and big City Life this is not the place for you. If you want to get away from it all totally relax in an amazing location then you should really think of staying at the Rendezvous resort St Lucia. We have totally relaxed in this location and left are busy lives behind and cannot really fault the resort in any major way. The Caribbean Waters and beautiful Golden Sands are only a small part of this location the food is of a high standard and the staff could not be more welcoming and friendly.
