I read lots of reviews and wondered whether the Hotel would live up to my very high expectations - and it actually exceeded them. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the staff, the ambience and the wonderful friendly atmosphere was superb. We took the helicopter transfer both ways and really enjoyed the view and indeed the speed of transit. We stayed in a seaside suite and loved it as it was bright and airy with a large seating area outside. Francis in housekeeping who looked after our room was superb and so friendly and the room was absolutely immaculate at all times. The food in all the restaurants was outstanding and I loved "checking my shoes in" at the Malabar in the evening. The BBQ on friday night was lovely followed by the most amazing steel band. The entertainment crew were really friendly - great fun but not pushy. Jacinta in reception was brilliant with nothing too much trouble. It is difficult to mention specific staff as all were so welcoming and so keen to make our holiday special. Another small point, I loved having the couple of small cats around and all the guests made a fuss of them as they reminded us of our pets at home. I was really pleased the staff did not chase them away as we all sneaked them pieces of ham!We are already making arrangements to return early next year
Special holiday to celebrate big birthday. Had an beachfront room which was good. This small resort was intimate and felt exclusive. The setting & the delicious food were the real highlights. We kept finding hidden corners with plunge pools & loungers throughout the grounds. Yet the waiting staff would still find you there & offer rum punch. Spent most of our time on the beautiful beach, pool & swim up bar. Its a public beach and frequented by friendly harmless hawkers. The hotel allows some cruise boat guests lunch access so it gets busier then, the big cruise boats dock in busy Castries port. If you can arrive or depart by helicopter, you'll always remember it long after you've forgotten the price.
My husband and I just spent June 10 - June 15 at this wonderful resort. I'll just start at the beginning. We arrived at Rendezvous and were greeted with a bottle of champagne. We were then escorted to our beautiful luxury beachfront room. It was tastefully decorated, comfortable and had a gorgeous view of the ocean. There was a round porch with a round cushioned lounge seat and a hammock. I will say there is a refrigerator in the large dresser drawer. We didn't find it until our last day (because we only used the closet for clothes!) and it would have been great to have known it was there! I loved our room but I have to say, there didn't look to be a "bad" room in the whole place. They had garden rooms, rooms by the pool and beach cottages and they all looked amazing. Plus, it's a small resort so none of the rooms are far from anything. We then explored the grounds, which are so lush and tropical and beautifully maintained. There are 2 spacious and lovely pools. One is in front of the spa and was much less occupied than the one by the ocean. There is a lazy river that runs behind this pool and it has little nooks with comfortable lounge seating for privacy. I will say that the lazy river is actually one narrow, continuous pool. I thought it was going to be a floating kind of river before seeing it. But again - lovely and peaceful. The ocean is also beautiful. The large strip in front of the hotel is very clean and has plenty of umbrella covered seating. I read a few reviews of people being bothered that the beach is public and crowded but we didn't have that experience at all. It was not at all crowded and there was plenty of space to lounge, walk around or swim.Next was dinner. We had made advanced reservations for the Malabar Beach restaurant for our first night. I recommend making reservations for the Malabar Beach and Trysting Room ahead of time - it wasn't terribly crowded while we were there but on a busier week, I could see it being booked up. I loved this restaurant! It was my favorite place to eat while at Rendezvous. It's covered but right on the beach and you can leave your shoes with the hostess to eat with your feet in the sand. My husband also liked that he could wear nice shorts and not pants here. The food is amazing! There are 5 or 6 choices of appetizer or salad, 5 or 6 main dishes and 5 dessert options. There is fresh fish, other seafood, chicken, steak and a vegetarian option. Everything was delicious. We ended up eating there twice for dinner and once for lunch and everything was so good. There is no bad food at this resort but Malabar was still my favorite. We went to the Trysting Room the second and third night and this is a much more formal dinning room. It has a French feel and flare. It had the same many options menu and was again amazing food. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and this is another wonderful place to eat.We ate all breakfasts and lunches (except for 1 at Malabar) in the Terrace Dining area. I've been to several all-inclusive resorts on several islands and have never had such delicious food and so many choices. I know I'm talking about food a lot but it was so good and so exceeded my expectations that I can't help but talk about it! They had hot and cold options for both breakfast and lunch and all were wonderful. They had a chicken dish on Sunday that was so fantastic that I wish I had the recipe or had a least taken a picture of the name of it! The only dinner we had in the Terrace Dining area was our last night, which was West Indies night. It was very good and they had tons of options but I have to say, I still preferred the other a la carte restaurants. They just had a more intimate setting and the food was incredible. The drinks were also wonderful and easy to come by. The bartenders were fun and personable. We spent most of the day time at the pool by the beach and it was heavenly. The only thing I would recommend would be to offer mimosas, bloody Mary's and screwdrivers with breakfast. I'm actually not a huge drinker but love drinks when I'm at a resort and on vacation and felt that waiting until noon for the main bar and 10 or so for the pool bar could be a little frustrating. Without beverages in the room - sometimes I would just want a coke or a sprite and would have to wait until the bars opened. But other than that - fabulous! My husband and I also used the spa twice for couples massages. They were phenomenal! We had the regular couples massage and the then the healthy back massage with hot stones. The spa staff were wonderful and did amazing work on both our backs. We also used the sailboat while we were there and that was a lot of fun. They have great instructors who go out with you and give you direction and then you can go out on your own. There are a ton of activities you can do from waterskiing to scuba but we were pretty lazy and only did the sailboat.Rendezvous is the most wonderful resort I've been to yet. The staff is wonderful and friendly, the services are plentiful, the food amazing and the grounds and beach are beautiful. You really couldn't ask for more and I will definitely come back! One more quick comment. I read a ton of reviews before picking this resort and most were great but one thing people really complained about was the airplanes flying over the resort. There is an airport next door to the resort and yes, we heard planes flying over but it in no way ruined or even intruded on the experience this resort provides. Just an FYI if that complaint was making you second guess booking this resort.
Everything positive said on this website is true! The food is just amazing and the staff are the loveliest we have ever met. I honestly don't think we have ever dined as well on holiday as we did here. And the service is just outstanding both at the bar and in the three restaurants. The drinks at the bar were generous and they made any cocktail you wanted. All day long on the beach, the staff would ensure you had plenty of soft drinks, shakes, water and cordials. You didn't have to ask, the staff would come around every hour or so. I had four spa treatments - one scrub and three massages - worth every penny and because I booked them all before I arrived, I got 15% off. We were in the Garden Rooms second floor. Nothing wrong with the room or facilities. Turning down the bed and lighting the candle every night was a very nice touch. Towels were constantly refreshed. It would be nice to have a walk in shower rather than a bath with a shower over it but not a deal breaker. The beach is a public beach so I don't understand people's problems. The hotel is private for adults - the beach is public. Both of us could not understand why people seem to have an issue with the locals using it for their fun. It's THEIR beach! We walked the beach every day and felt perfectly safe either as a couple or individuals.Everything about this hotel is perfectly balanced - well it was for us. The only difficult thing for us to understand was the tipping policy. We had to ask Reception for advice. However, I did give that in my feedback to the hotel. My advice - come here. I went with the intention of doing loads of trips. I am slightly ashamed to say I did nothing but soak up the ambience of the hotel! But it was so worth it. Both of us didn't want to leave.
I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Rendezvous and felt the need to come on here and write a review (something I wouldn't normally do) about this fantastic hotel! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and special and as our holiday progressed this became more and more. We stayed in a beautiful Verandah suite, well worth the extra money with a great location near the lazy river- however any room would be nice here and in a good location as the resort is a small layout with beautiful gardens and pools. Staff at this hotel are genuinely the best I have ever experienced in any hotel and do their upmost to make your holiday memorable and special. A special mention to Francis who remembered our names from initial meeting at breakfast, as well as the water sports team who made my partners holiday, offering him lessons in diving, wake boarding, sailing and diving! Veronique at breakfast also makes the best poached eggs we have ever tasted!!! The food is outstanding with 3 dining options, one being a buffet with excellent variety and the others being a menu with great choice that changes every few days- there is also a great selection for any dietary requirements/ allergies, I was shocked to find so many gluten free options! Our personal favourite restaurant was Malabar a lovely spot where you dine on the beach. My partner particularly liked this as he could wear smart shorts - something in that heat we felt should be allowed in the terrace buffet restaurant too as apposed to the trouser dress code, although this is our only critique of the entire holiday! The champagne bar is fabulous and from 7-8pm offer guests a sample of fine champagnes and sparkling wines and a small insight into the grape and origin behind them, this bar then stays open until the last guest goes to bed, something we took advantage of and had a great time! We had a fabulous holiday with special memories that will last forever. Whether it be active couples seeking water sports and adventure or simply lazy days on the beach and at the pool with a cocktail, it caters for everyone and I cannot recommend this hotel enough! Thankyou Rendezvous!!!
