We went to st Lucia in March 2017. We arranged our own taxi as it was much cheaper than the hotels transfer. The hotel was beautiful the staff so friendly. We paid for an upgrade to the room and it was worth it as there was a lovely day bed outside and the room was very spacious. Gardens are very lush and full of flowers. All staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. All the restaurants on site were very good. Overall we couldn't find a negative comment to make.
Rachael and I had the most wonderful time in Rendezvous this April. Having been to the Maldives for the last 3 years we wondered how St Lucia would measure up as a change and we were not disappointed.Starting with the journey from the airport to the hotel for which we had read many concerning reviews of nightmare journeys ,it really isn't that bad at all .You see some of the eastern villages ,the rainforest and Castries town en route, yes there are some winding roads of dubious quality but it's just part of the experience. When you arrive at the hotel the beautiful setting and landscaping is immediately impressive and there is a wonderful relaxing feeling about the place. We had one the garden view rooms which is meant to be the standard level ,but it was lovely, clearly recently refurbished, spacious, with a great balcony view over the tree canopy towards the sea, we saw inside some of the beach suites and pool suites which looked very nice indeed ,but you definitely won't be disappointed if you stick to the garden suite. The food was generally of very high standard in the main Terrace restaurant with a mix of buffet nights and themed a la carte nights ,breakfast is really good there with everything you could wish for . The Malabar beach restaurant was excellent for lunch not only for the great views of the beach ,sea and the occasional guest trying waterskiing or donut rides but the dishes were really good. We had one dinner at the Trysting place due to the popularity and prebookings ,the food was amazing and the setting is old fashioned and intimate in a really quaint way. Booking early ,even before you go to the resort is highly recommended if you want to have a few of your dinners in the Malabar or Trysting place. Service was great throughout ,friendly ,attentive, in the restaurants, bars and pool and beach alike and you get to know the staff through their friendliness and are almost sad to say goodbye when you leave. We loved the privacy of the lazy river in the mornings then the pool at the spa or the main pool for the afternoons where there is a really nice atmosphere and chance to meet other couples over cocktails and some funny poolside games. This was the most comprehensive all inclusive we have ever experienced, everything, food, drink( unlimited in terms of brands, cocktails champaign and water sports ) ,no signing for what you have, it really is the best approach we've seen. I'm a keen diver and the dive centre in the hotel was excellent, with free one tank dives on the bay reef or for 100$ a two tank dive on the best dive spots on the island, with brilliant dive masters Julie and Luiggi ,you even get to dive at the Pitons. Great evenings in the bar watching live bands or the amazing steel band topped off each day A truly wonderful holiday.
We visited St Lucia on 11 April by cruise ship. Four of us booked half day passes at Rendezvous Beach Resort. Angus, who we corresponded with allowed us to alter the times of our visit to fit in with the ship’s time in port. This resort is for couples only and day passes are limited so that the resort’ remains peaceful and the facilities do not get crowded. We walked the mile from the port to the resort, this was a mistake as we were hassled by taxi drivers and others all the way along the route. It was also about 31 degrees, hotter than we were comfortable with… a taxi would only have cost $10 and next time we will forego the exercise. We were checked in at the gate house and escorted to reception, those without prior bookings are not admitted. After checking in we were given a tour of the restaurants, pool, gardens, bar and beach. We settled into our beach chairs under a palapa on the beautiful sandy beach and gazed out to sea… bliss!!! Our day pass cost $65 and included use of the pool and beach facilities, including chairs, a free bar, lunch and afternoon tea. Whilst we lazed under the palapas, staff unsolicited, brought us freshly made mango smoothies and fruit ice pops… we really were in paradise. Lunch was barbecued steak, chicken, fish and a huge variety of salads followed by a choice of deserts. The staff here were welcoming and friendly and nothing really was too much trouble. This was a great beach break and excellent value for money. We intend to return again next year.
Our 30th wedding anniversary was spend here billed as The Romantic Holiday. It exceeded expectationsIt really is the place for couples and it really is a romantic location with 2 miles of white sandy beach to enjoy. It is a secluded hideaway where no guest is on top of another because the complex maximises its beach front location. There are plenty of activities every day for people of all abilities from Paulines famous aquarobics and beach Olympics to sailing and scuba adventures. You must study the Blackboard each day. Alternatively you can walk the beach and enjoy the view from the Lighthouse…or just relax.Nothing is too much trouble for the lovely staff who are faultless. Its people that make a holiday a success and at The Rendezvous the people are prepared to do anything to make your stay an experience to remember. It certainly was for us.There is a reason why you meet so many “returners” at The Rendezvous. Its fabulous.
I have just got back from a weeks stay at the Rendezvous for my mum's wedding. From the moment you arrive at the Rendezvous to the moment you leave, the staff are friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Kevin in the water sports team who managed to teach my sister and I to sail and also to Michael for being an excellent Captain. Imran in the pool bar makes an excellent mojito! The hotel itself is set in beautiful gardens and the garden view room was clean and comfortable. There was a good selection of food and drinks and Veronica on the egg station at breakfast makes amazing pancakes and waffles! There was always plenty of sun loungers by both pools and on the beach - something people always seem to want to know!I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Rendezvous and would definitely recommend it for a chilled out, relaxing stay where the staff really make it a lovely place to stay.
