Wedding anniversary

The country itself is beautiful, we were booked in the pool view, but the room was awful, the patio door lock didn't work, the small fridge was rusty, the room was small, the safe didn't work, we complained and they kindly moved us the next day to a really lovely room with an ocean view. They said the tap water was ok to drink but I wouldn't advise it, as it made me bloated, the toilet kept been blocked, the staff in the restaurant wasn't very hospitable apart from 2. The venders on the beach was very forceful in selling stuff, and it became uncomfortable at times, the food wasn't very nice either.On the plus side the massarge on the beach was fantastic, the customer service desk was helpful, and the beach is awesome, the entertainment could have been alot better, by more interaction with the visitors, the excersions are great especially the volcanic baths, catamarang, snorkeling and the street party. We wouldn't stay at this hotel again but we would go back and stay at 'The Royal' it looked amazing and people who stayed there said it was great.

Fabulously Fabulous Time!

I am just back from a weeks stay at the Royal St Lucian. Thank you to the staff that helped my daughter when she cut her finger, I could not have asked for more kindness and emergency care. She is fine. A special mention to the the Deputy Manager Michella Poleon, she had looked after us with care. The rooms were immaculate, fresh and clean. We did not have one of the new rooms as they are being refurbished. Maybe next time we visit. The AC worked a treat. The pool is well cared for as are the gardens. The bar staff (Hi Nigel) are prompt, friendly and know how to make fantastic cocktails. There is a happy hour not to be missed. The beach and security staff are very helpful and keep a sharp eye on us while we use the beach front. The staff in the restaurant were very helpful, attentive and quick to respond. Thank you for your lovely meals. There is a wonderful lady named Liz who makes Rotis along the beach front. Watch out for her, she has a Liz Roti shirt on and her Rotis are just amazing!!! This has been my 3rd visit to this hotel. It gets better everytime! Thank you.

Nice location disappointing hotel

The hotel is in need of some tlc . We had to change room twice because the sink and bath were blocked. And our second room the shower was broken. There where cock roaches in our room as well as outside the hall way.the food in general was not good there was hardly any local dishes.breakfast was the same we had to ask the chef on some occasions to make us some local dishes for breakfast, which he was willing to do.The reception staff were very helpful likewise some of the gardening and dining room staff. But overall everyone else just ignored you.'not a hello or good morning'. There is a sister hotel attached next door but you have to pay to use its facilities. If you have dinner in the sister hotel you have to pay for drinks.the massage in the hotel is extremely over priced for a full body massage cost around $130 and on the beach it's $40, and the gentleman is a professional massure. The hotel is in a good location there is a mariner is about 15 mins drive, a shopping mall about 5 mins walk with restaurants with different cuisine.

St Lucian by THE WRECK

A picture tells a thousand words but I feel there are a few more in this case.On arrival of a long awaited,hard worked for dream holiday you are greeted by.... The reception mafia!Welcome greetings begrudgingly over its time for THE RULES, You must dress in a certain way to attend the on site "Oriental restaurant". You must pay 300$ in advance on a suspended transaction in case you damage your room, you must not order wine or water by the bottle or you will be charged, you can use the spa and drink at the sister hotel next door, but you must pay! and so on and so on and so on!Administration over you are escorted to your room where in fairness you think okay this is a relatively good standard maybe its not so bad. You then explore the beach which is fabulous with beautiful views and calm waters, UNTIL you realize you are fresh meat for the ever present, ever persistent beach traders who will plague you daily for drinks from the bar, cigarettes or spare change for a leaf made into a fish!! Which incidentally is presented as "A Gift" until you refuse to pay and then its promptly taken back, all whilst parking themselves on the end of your sunbed like they have some divine right! Security on site do nothing but woe betide any trader who adjusts a faulty sun umbrella ( of which there were many) and they will be reprimanded immediately! You could not make this stuff up!This "Hotel" is desperately overdue for improvement and modernization which were were told was imminent and it is clear the staff are resigned to the fact the place is falling down so have given up. Shout outs must go however, to Ieada,Dan,Kyle and Shav who were all fabulous. The rest of the team?... it appeared it depended on what mood they were in on the day which would define their attitude, in fairness if I was unfortunate enough to have to work in this environment what mood would I portray? Eat up at breakfast because that`s your lot until lunch, no snacks, no ice cream ( ever!) no nothing! Breakfast and lunch were fine, dinner consisted of an eclectic mix of the two with very limited choice and in our opinion very poor.All in all IGNORE the official photographs online these were clearly taken a decade ago.However, if you are after a taste of "Mini Beirut" with faulty electrics, questionable fire alarm systems,shabby exteriors, a freezing cold "Jacuzzi", a leafy shallow pool with chunks of concrete missing on the base, "roof gardens" ( Roof guttering filled with debris and weeds) filthy hotel toilets and a "Hospitality Suite" designed I can only deduce for departing guests who have literally given up on life and are ready to depart this mortal earth then this is the place for you!!!OTHERWISE, like the Americans avoid this homage to Faulty Towers and book a different hotel on this beach. Without the fabulous couples and families we met here who could laugh with us at the utter chaos of this place (You know who you are, thanks again for the laughs!!) This would of been a pretty dismal place to be. Was tempted when leaving to hand our wristbands over to the beach traders but strongly believe they would rather eat and sleep on the beach!! Que Sera Sera!!

Not bad at all

Virgin put us here for 3 nights all inclusive when we had problem with our flight.Hotel rooms bit dated but was clean and had everything we needed.Food and drink was lovely at each sitting - buffet style.Staff were very helpful.
