perfection

The most beautiful holiday I have ever had. This is such a relaxing place. We were upgraded to a corner suite, opening out on to the pool , heavenly. Perfect sunset and the best valentines ever. Being all inclusive the food was maybe the best I have ever had, banana bread and local granola for breakie, catch of the day for lunch , special lobster, king fish , yes we ate like royalty, lovely pastas and excellent veggy stuff and amazing rum punch and the nicest staff thank you Bobby and lovely treatments[ good prices, I recommend the reflexology]. Words cannot say what a marvellous time we had thank you.

Regretted Leaving

The staff is wonderful, friendly and helpful. This is a small quiet resort. If you need a bar scene or loud conversation you should go somewhere else. We met the owner at Monday night's cocktail reception and the property manager who visited our table the first morning at breakfast. The property is built on a hillside with a mid-sized private beach and a beautiful infinity pool part way up the hill. There is a small swim-up pool bar with a few tables nearby for lunch. There are lounges at the beach and pool. Some at the beach have umbrellas or shade covers and some at the pool have cabana covers. Even with a full house the place does not feel crowded. The grounds are beautiful and the four Gardener's got my thanks for their great work every time I saw them. Trees, shrubs, lawns, flowers, etc. Very well tended every day. There are various types of rooms. We chose one with a balcony one floor below the open air restaurant and reception area. Great views. Beautiful sunsets most nights. Cruise ships on horizon leaving Castries to our South many nights. The planet Venus bright in the sky visible from the restaurant at dinner. Then there were the swim out rooms one level below ours. Larger accommodations were located below the pool on the way to the beach. The photos the property uses accurately reflect the current condition. There is nothing that needs fixing or repair or upgrading here. They do regular projects and the place is very well cared for and ready to enjoy. First class, understated and not glitzy. The clientele comes from the US, UK, Austria, Germany and elsewhere. We saw no children. Mostly couples with a family or two. Friendly travelers, but reserved. There is live music every night near the restaurant and lobby from 700 PM to 900 PM. It is meant to calm and not jar ones nerves. We did not take the all inclusive plan, but we had nearly every meal at the hotel. The breakfasts are ala carte with lots of choices. Great coffee. The lunch menu works well. The dinner menu has nightly specials. Some guests love the food here. The French trained chef tries hard to please. We had some very good meals, but often wished for a simpler fare. We taxied out to dinner one night and ordered pasta for a change. Taxis are plentiful and can be called. The trip from the international airport to the hotel is over an hour and costs USD 100 with a tip. The island has mountains and few straight roads. I would not rent a car here although some did. Things to see 1) boat trip to Soufrier, a town to the south 2) the market in Castries for locals and tourists alike is extensive, everyday except Sunday and 3) the view of the Castries harbor with the cruise ships in port from the streets or from up on the mountain. We enjoyed this island, Calabash Cove and the people we met.

Highly recommend

My boyfriend and I spent four nights at Calabash Cove over President's Day weekend and absolutely loved it. If you are looking for a quaint and quiet getaway, this place is perfect. Although we stayed in one of the "lower end" rooms (108), it was very spacious, comfortable and had a large balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean. We opted not to do the all-inclusive option as we are not big eaters/drinkers, but did eat nearly every meal at the resort restaurant because it was so delicious. The specials at dinner each evening were terrific, and the staff was very accommodating with dietary restrictions. The pool and beach were also great. Unlike at other resorts we have stayed at in the past, there is no need to wake up early to reserve chairs or daybeds - there were always some available in both the sun and shade. The water at the beach was a little cloudy, but besides that the beach was very nice, private and calm. The hotel provides paddle boards, kayaks and snorkeling gear, which you can use at your leisure. The staff is very helpful if you opt to do any excursions. We arranged the Piton Hike excursion through the concierge and had a wonderful experience. There were only a couple of minor drawbacks, none of which are deal-breakers. First, the resort is about 90 minutes from UVF airport. The taxi costs between $75-90 USD each way. Second, while the resort does provide complimentary wifi, it hardly worked in our room and couldn't be relied upon to get meaningful work done if necessary. Third, the gym is small and could use some additional equipment, but if you want to get a workout in, it is perfectly fine.Overall, I highly recommend this resort and hope to return.

Amazing

I totally loved my stay with 'calabash cove'. Staff was super friendly and 'at your service' types. While sitting on beach, I wanted to have fresh coconut water from the garden. Staff made it a point to get that for me even though they had to go extra mile for getting it from tree. I was touched by the gesture.Resort was the best part of my trip to st Lucia. I loved the home baked crossiants and brownies in breakfast.Only one small issue I faced was the room stinked sometime which was fixed by Shamena (if I remember name correctly) when I told her, so did not bother me much.I am back home but the memories I had there in resort makes me super happy ☺️

House Party Atmosphere

Outstanding accommodation, food, location and staff, for couples - my wife and I went with my brother and his wife - we had a "Cottage" almost on the beach (with own plunge pool), they had an apartment. Both excellent. We did not take full board but ended up choosing to eat there because dining was so good, with good singers/musicians in the evenings. It was a very friendly atmosphere, with lovely staff. If you are looking for somewhere quiet and off the beaten track, would like to chat with other guests, and can climb the steps, look no further. And the climate in St Lucia at this time of the year is just perfect for Northern Europeans.
