Great vacation

We spent a week away St. James Club St Lucia along with our son and daughter in law mid March, and had a very good vacation. The room was comfortable and kept very clean, food very good, we especially liked Morgan's Pier, the servers were so friendly and food excellent. We also enjoyed the other ala cartes.and buffets. The beach was small and the water churned up and sandy, but the sports activities were great and always lots of comfortable chairs and shade which we appreciated​. We found the music a bit loud, especially in evening if we went to our room before 11 pm. Our room was in the 300 series, with nice view of ocean but a bit of a climb.We loved the Choc Bay cafe in the evenings, to visit and play cards.Delious coffees and desserts. We found the beach party a bit confusing with so many stations but realize the staff put a lot of work I to it, just not exactly our idea of a nice dinner, maybe the buffet should be open for another option.

Beautiful resort, but be careful of your valuables!

My family and I were vacationing here early March 2017. My mother and I had shared a room and sadly, money had been stolen (from the safe in the room) on three separate occasions. Unfortunately with the lack of evidence, management basically told us to piss off. My mother and I had both made complaints. As we realized without any type of proof we didn't expect the hotel to do anything other than to take our complaints seriously. Which they did not. I advise anyone staying on any ground level suite to make sure your patio doors are locked, and your money is secure! On one occasion after we noticed money missing, we noticed our patio door was open.

Wonderful vacation

Wonderful resort, wonderful people, beautiful views, Great accommodations, Great drinks and food not too bad! Small but pretty beach, more than enough chairs and beach service. Resort is on a slight hill, rooms and suites are uphill (no elevators) and restaurants (most), bars and activities are all at the bottom. You have to make your dining reservations ahead of time. The French restaurant is wonderful! Cafe shop is awesome. the Palm buffet restaurant ... Eh. I would highly recommend this resort, no real obstacles. Beautiful island!

We would rate the complex only one star away from 5 star. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful and our one hiccup eating on Morgans Pier was very professionally dealt with and rectified. Le Jardin was excellent but carries a cost premium and can only be booked once in a week. Water sports were excellent and the room superb.

St James's Club Dishonest Booking Service 'Chelmsford Essex'

Called St James's Club booking service in 'Chelmsford Essex' who provided a quote for our family of four. The quote was provided via email in USD and we questioned this before booking and the representative confirmed that this was the correct price. We then called the same representative who told us that this was a typo and the price was actually in Pound Sterling - even although she previously confirmed the price was in USD and the quote was also listed as USD twice. I asked if St James Club would honour the USD price and she casually said no. This was escalated to her manager who tried to back up her story that this was a simple typo and that he could ‘knock off’ £100 for the inconvenience. I explained that this was confirmed by email and he started to back track but again said there was nothing he could do except from the £100. This was then escalated to a senior sales manager who again backed up the false and incompetent typo story. He confirmed that there is nothing they can do as I have not paid the deposit so we are not in contract with me, basically too bad! The final escalation got us through to St James US office 'Elite Resorts team' who basically apologies on behalf of the ‘Chelmsford Essex’ experience and offered us the same price in Pound Sterling. Therefore back to square one and no better off.The 'Chelmsford Essex' sales team’s continued attempts to lie about their error and rudeness is complexly unacceptable and the 'too bad we are not in contract' response really infuriates me. I think the original price should have been upheld as per quote (I know that in my industry we would be held to this and would not want to put our customers through such pain).Is this service and integrity a reflection on the St James Club hotel itself? Well, my family and I are not willing to take the chance!
