I must say i was VERY disappointed with this resort. I was expecting a lot more than what it truly was. To start off there limited and spotty WiFi, only available in the lobby unless you wanted to pay extra to get it in your room. The food was awful, the buffet sucks! if you are a picky eater you need to find another resort to go too! The road to St James was quite twisty and 1 1/2 hrs, be prepared to get car sick! They have a small gift shop on the resort, although they had no phone chargers, no tanning oil and under water disposable camera's. The staff weren't very friendly and i found a few of them rude. The beach was not the nicest i've seen, there are waves that constently roll in that makes the water very "dirty", you cant see your toes thru the water. They have a some what net out there to prevent the crap from coming in although it does not stop much. We booked the rhum tour, needless to say, what a waste of time... it took us 30 minutes to drive there and once there they took us in a factory, showed us tubs of rhum, where its processed and this took about 20 minutes, then we could do rhum tasting... great right? not so much, all the rhums where left outside and were very warm, even the ones that were supposed to be served chill. We also went on a half day boat ride / mud bath/ natural water fall and snorkelling, that was OK, although when booking they forgot to mention we had to exit the boat to be driven to these places... i was not impressed. The resort and rooms where clean but it's older than what it appears to be on the pictures. The lobby has old furniture, dirty looking floors and the staff is not friendly! I was very disappointed and i will never return to this place!
A week back from our honeymoon here. We had a fantastic time. Great ocean view room, lovely, clean and fresh Sharmain (I think) looked after the room so well. lovely bottle of champagne in the room. Food.......never had a bad meal, love the Tree Tops.....but all good......drinks....lovely.....flags on the beach for drinks!!!!!!!! That was unique. Water sports, great fun. Staff all helpful all over the resort. Cannot think of a bad thing to say.........very memorable time. Would love to go back one day.CALYPSO CATWent on two trips with the boat. Had a great time and the crew, well, the were just so friendly and helpful. They really made the trip. If they have their own trip advisor page would love to rate them there too.
OK - i'll start with the only negative... limited and spotty wifi. This only became an issue for us because our pet sitter couldn't get into the house. Otherwise I prefer to be unplugged. This was only our second trip to any all-inclusive resort. At the first one, the food was awful - so with some trepidation we booked at St. James Club. What a difference! My husband and I are not foodies by any means, but the Palms buffet , Bambou, Morgan's Pier, and Plum Tree were all very solid. Tree Top was okay - more on that later. So, from the beginning: We had to get up at 3 am for our 6 am flight to Atlanta, then the 4+ hr flight to St. Lucia. We knew the road to St James was quite twisty and 1 1/2 hrs - so anticipating our would-be exhaustion, we opted to pre-book a flight on the helicopter (10 min, $165 pp/oneway). Well worth the views of the island...but the copter could only take carry-on bags. They shipped our luggage by van to St. James, which arrived 2 1/2 hours later. St. James staff delivered our bags to our room, but I recommend grabbing your resort clothes before getting on the copter, so you can be comfortable.Re: dinner reservations - don't know why so many reviewers have a problem with this! There's a board on the wall in the dinner reservations area that shows the menus of each restaurant and what days they will be open.Rooms were very clean (we were in the 500 block), well-appointed, I found the pillows too stiff (personal preference) The empty fridge was perfect for us, we could go shopping in nearby Rodney Bay (15 min, $10 taxi) and get what we wanted. The only issue was the bathroom - it needs a fan to, er, "air it out"...Staff was cheerful and helpful, except for the Choc Bay Cafe - the ladies had an attitude that we didn't appreciate.Water sports: staff friendly & helpful & rentals are included in your package. Ask for David to rent a jet ski - and don't miss Joy's tour! (Both latter are private enterprises not affiliated with St. James Bay)We took a taxi to Rodney Bay twice - once for groceries/casino time and once for dinner. (Casino isn't Vegas, but it does have table games & lots of slots.) Re: the above Treetops reference, their pizza would have been excellent - had we not eaten at an Italian restaurant located outside the mall first. I believe it was Pizzeria Trattoria. Anyway, I am a pizza snob from NJ/NY area, and it was excellent! Day trips: Joy's tour, Pigeon Island, Ziplining at Treetops (12 lines!) ask your guide afterwards of you can get a view of Dennery Bay.
We totally enjoyed our trip to St James Club Morgan Bay Lucia . We were there Feb 3-10, 2017. The accommodations were beautiful. The staff from the front desk to the serving staff, to the bartenders were so friendly. The food was delicious. Would really recommend this resort to all.
The suites at the top of the hill are the best view. The food at all of the restaurants was great and changed daily. All of the water activity was part of the package and they provided instructions. The resort staff were extremely friendly. The gym had enough equipment to get a good workout and there were daily exercise programs. Running was challenging because it is on a very hilly.
