St James Club Morgan Bay

Going into this trip, we expected a fun, all inclusive, and relaxing tropical vacation with modest accommodations. As the saying goes, we expected to get what we paid for. We had an outstanding rainy season rate - search for deals from travel agents - they are definitely out there and easily accessible! Our stay was far better than expected from the food to the rooms to the staff. We traveled as a group of 8 adults and were not disappointed. We took advantage of all of the restaurants except "fancy" additional $$ joint, Le Jardin. The food was above average with each restaurant having a strength. The Treetop (Italian) was the "best" dining experience, closely followed by the restaurant on the pier. The Palm was our least favorite, but probably had the coolest presentations and Julia was a real joy. The beach BBQ at lunch and on Wednesday night delightful and really hit the mark as did the breakfast buffets and the pool-side restaurant at the family pool. All in all, I'd say I've eaten better food at US restaurants with an average of meals $24+, but considering what we paid and the setting, I didn't expect that level and neither should you.The daytime activities were abundant and enjoyable. We learned to sail, took 2 excursions (Joy's Cruise x2 and Adventure Treetops), played tennis (great courts), used the gym, took part in Aqua Fit (which is a hoot and a fun work-out!), relaxed on the beach, water-ski'd, played volleyball, and took advantage of the libations at the swim up bar. Aenetha and her crew at the pool-side bar are rock-stars. They make the crowd of strangers feel like best friends. "What time is it?! - HAPPY HOUR!!!"Our group had no children with us, and while some families were at the resort, it seemed predominantly couples. There were activities for adults, but many of the children did try to participate in the sport activities. The staff did a great job balancing the enjoyment of the adults and kids alike. TeaPot (or TeaCup) really knew what they were doing and were fantastic. If you're in the market for an all-inclusive experience in St. Lucia, this is the resort for you. Upgraded rooms have additional amenities (sitting areas, nicer linens/bedding, better views). The food exceeds the cost of the stay, the beach is beautiful, the drinks flow freely, and St. Lucia is paradise. The transfer is 75-90 mins. (depending on the driver) but so are most of the other all-inclusives. Several other resorts on the island stand-out for other reasons, but in terms of value and quality, this is probably your best bet unless you're aiming for a boutique villa infinity pool experience.
The rooms all look as if they have been recently decorated all lovely and clean and white and spacious! However we had a dodgy back door which didn't close properly however on the 3rd floor this wasn't a major issue. The food was impeccable from breakfast which is in 2 restaurants all the way through to dinner we couldn't fault any of our meals. Just remember to book the al a carte restaurants! They had a beach party on Wednesday and it was phenomenal the best I've ever been too and this is my 3rd time to this particular island, all different pop up food stalls and drink stalls along with a fire pit on the beach and great entertainment. All 4 swimming pools are clean and inviting, it's great they cater for everyone from adults only to the main pool to a children's pool. The views from the adults only pool were amazing and the staff were unbelievably helpful so we spent most of our days there. The beach activities from Waterskiing to the banana boat ride and snorkeling are great and all included which is fab.My only issue with the hotel was our itemised bill the night before check out, we were being charged $200+ for a restaurant and on speaking to the manager they couldn't answer my queries as to why in an all inclusive hotel I was being charged this, however it was all sorted very quickly and didn't ruin our experience so we would return!
My family and I vacationed for 2 weeks at the St James Club, Morgan Bay. We loved it! Plenty of things to do on the beach and all the water sports the resort offered were part of the all inclusive package. The resort is beautiful and our room was great. We had a suite up on the hill with a nice size balcony, tv room area with a pull out sofa and a king bed in the master bath. Getting up the hill by foot was a bit of a workout, but it was good in that we were eating and drinking a lot so burning some calories was welcomed. If you can't home it up, there was always a golf cart that would take us up the hill from the main entrance. The ocean there was clean, but not crystal clear (line the Aegean Sea). Nonetheless it was 1000 x cleaner than NY waters and we even enjoyed some snorkeling in that area. To see tropical fish though, you need to take some excursions and there are plenty to choose from ( for a price, of course). The staff were pretty friendly and the service was great. No sooner than your glass of water would finish, the staff would refill. On Wednesday nights they have a very festive and delicious BBQ on the beach (weather dependent). We enjoyed it, but one recommendation to management would be not to let people stand all around the stage because the people sitting at tables can't see the show. The resort had a variety of food to offer at the restaurants and of course it was plentiful. The bartenders did a great job too. The St James Morgan Bay was overall a very nice place to stay and a very good value.
My wife and I had a great 2 weeks at St James Club. Our room was exactly as specified on the website (with the exception of the cockroach I chased around the room!). If you have not been issued with an accommodation voucher by your travel agent, it is wise to take with you a hard copy email confirmation of your booking with St James Club for registration. The food was first rate but the food at the Tree Tops restaurant was exceptional. The French Onion Soup was the best I've ever tasted and the pizza competes with the best. The beach barbecue each lunchtime was excellent, the chefs and staff did such a good job. The staff throughout the resort were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The choice of excursions were varied and reasonably priced. An excursion on the Cat Calypso is a must and the crew were exceptional and very entertaining, on and off the boat. If you are going for the snorkelling, sign up for the Sun, Sand and Snorkel excursion my wife went and loved it. I would recommend this resort to anyone thinking of visiting St Lucia. We will go back.
Had an amazing stay at St James's, our room was right on the see front 500 block and was very clean and comfortable, but the view was out of this world, could of sat on the balcony all day and night. You have to book your restaurants in the morning for 3 days but always got the choice we wanted, all restaurants were lovely, but Morgans pier is probably our favourite. The coffee shop is a must with great snacks and fab coffee. evening entertainment was a little hit and miss but not the end of the world. drinks could do with being in glasses and not in plastic cups, although this wasn't the same for the restaurants, makes a big difference. all in all a great hotel with lovely pools and beautiful beach.
