We booked this hotel last minute because our trip to Antigua was cancelled due to hurricane. The hotel is located 1.5 hr from the airport. the check in was smooth they gave us welcome drinks then we waited for the room due our last minute booking. The bell boy took us to the room via golf card. We had a regular garden view room which was at the back of the hotel. The building had 3 floors no elevator. Room was comfortable. Had a king size bed, TV, 2 night stands, a chair, a dresser with an empty fridge minibar. We were surprised that 4 star hotel is not providing any water or drinks in the mini fridge. You can order from the drink's menu and pay for it. Also the room had a closet with the safe and the comfortable bathroom. We liked the soap and shampoo provided by the hotel. Also during our stay we had plenty of towels and face cloth in the bathroom. The room also has a small balcony with 2 chairs and a table. We had partial ocean view because we were on the second floor. The room was very clean as well as the resort. There is no bracelets and no cards for towels in this resort . We really liked it. You can just pick up the towels at any of 4 pools or on the beach. The resort doesn't have a lobby bar which was a disappointment for us. Each 4 pools have a bar plus there is a bar in the Sunset lounge where they have entertainment at night. There is no top shelf alcohol in this resort. The beer is from the tap and the vine we tried is from France or Spain and we liked the one from Spain. There is an amazing Coco cafe which serves all kind of coffee, tea and has to die for pastries. It's open all day. There are 5 restaurants: buffet which is not required reservations and 4 specialty restaurants which required reservations. One of them you have to pay $35 pp, pizza and pasta restaurant, seafood resturatnt which we loved the most and Bamboo restaurant which was fine but nothing special. Buffet has a really small selection of food probably the smallest we have ever had at 4 star hotel. the food was tasty and we always could find something to eat which we liked. the service at all restaurants was very good. They also have a grill restaurant at one of the pools which is open from 11 am till 7 pm. The food there was typical snack fast food. They also had BBQ for lunch at the beach. The beach is the smallest beach we ever had at the hotel. Half of the beach was for the water sports. It was a lot of rocks and weeds in the ocean. It was the biggest disappointment for us because we are the ocean lovers. You can't snorkel from the beach because the water is murky. They had some construction at the beach during our last day and it was very loud they were breaking cement. We couldn't relaxed at the beach or main pool and had to relocate to the adult pool area which was further from the construction. We did one excursion called "the land and sea" sold by the hotel and a really good value 50 %. We took a jeep safary to the mountins then catamran back to the hotel. Did some snorkel and made amazing pictures during this trip. We saw volcano, 2 waterfalls, botanical garden, fishing village. We also took a local bus on our own and went to Rodney Bay beach which was very nice. This beach is really beautiful we spent half of the day there swimming. We bought some alcohol in the duty free liquer store at Rodney Bay. The alcohol was chipper there in the airport. The entertainment in the evening was mostly bands playing from 9 pm till 11 pm. We liked only one band one night. The beach party night on Wednesday was really good. We enjoyed it. Overall we liked our vacation but wouldn't come back to this resort because of the beach.
Lovely spot to enjoy a winter get away to sun, beach and pool. A variety of food choices at the different restaurants. Lots of activities to join or not, definitely your choice. Popular spot for all ages. Lovely sunsets or rainbows that can be enjoyed from many vantage points, especially the adult only sunset rooftop pool. Wish we could have stayed a bit longer.
At first ,I was so angry of few hiccups. But wow the place was amazing. They greeted you with cold drinks ,then they meet you up in the table to tell you your room number plus deposit of 300 US dollar but they didn't take it from our account when we check out. From the airport after you passed the custom they have little desk called st lames Morgan Bay. If you haven't pre book they can arrange a taxi or van for your needs then off you go. Going back to the hotel the foods are delicious and they cook different things everyday and night. Wednesday is a big BBQ party dinner at the beach starting 6;30 pm. All the foods and drinks you can consumed till eleven pm. They have show and disco till 11:pm and during other nights they have live band till 11 pm. They have two pool areas by the beach and one by the hilltop. There are activities scheduled each days. You can book a tour and spa massage by the reception. The only thing is they didn't tell you that the water in the room are safe to drink as there are no water bottle when we arrived .as it was late we don't know how to get the water. The orientations are on the fallowing morning st 9:30 am. They tell you everything about the hotel rules and facilities. I don't know why they don't give you information leaflets instead.the pool is warm. The place was huge. The resort hotels are by the hilltop so ,it's no good for people with weak heart it legs. They have buggy to take you up but it's not always available. The beach are is small but it ca accommodate guest ant had a lots of sun lounger and chairs available. The drinks and food during breakfast and lunch like never ending. You eat and drinks until you have enough.all alcoholic drinks from the bar and pool side are non stop from lunch time . You can only use the pool till 6 or 7pm. The resort has little store that you can buy your little essentials. Most staffs are polite and hard working as well as friendly. But we noticed doe staff are horrible to oriental people as the whole country. You can book a taxi by the reception to visit the market and town of Castries which is the capital by hotel reception and ask the taxi to pick you up on your chosen time.the pier dinner experience was marvellous as the sea food was nice and this lady Nicole served you with smile. The pizza restaurant served delicious pizza with your chosen toppings and the pasta is delicious.the only thing is walking by the town it seems unsafe as not many tourist walk and looking around there. You felt intimidated and unsafe. The hotel can arrange a tour of duty free village which more safer and clothing are cheaper than hotel and they sells souvenir, liquor, and perfumes and jewellery . Our room is very clean as it was serviced by hardworking house keepers. I gave them tips at the end of our bookings. The buggy man who take you to the hilltop was also polite and helpful. They have water activities . The resort is cleaned everyday. You have to book your dinner as they have five good restaurant that served delicious food, ask the reception or you can book by phone in your room.the hotel can arranged airport transfer.i just hope they leave bottled water in the room as when you arrive late and have to take your meds you don't really want to use tap water if your not sure it is safe to drink .the sea is warm to swim and the pool. We went by boat tour to see the piton mountain and the volcano and had a dip in 199degrees water and having mud pack which is rejuvenating and had a power shower at the falls. Our room was huge with wonderful sea view as I requested .Over all it was amazing, wonderful ,and fascinating experienced. Lucky hurricane Irma didn't hit St Lucia
Welcomed with a drink and a snack. Just what you want when it is so hot. Check in was smooth and quick. We were driven to our rooms in buggies. The rooms were large and cool with aircon running the whole time. A welcome relief from the humidity. While basic the rooms were clean and the bed was so comfortable.I loved the fact that you could only get wi fi in the Sunset Lounge or Lobby as it meant you saw people chatting or reading, not with the phones out all the time. The restaurants were all superb. The Palms was the buffet choice. Every lunch and supper was a different theme and the food was lovely. If you like crumble, it was fantastic. If you did not fancy anything their for lunch you could go to the Plum Bar for a snack type meal where there was also a family pool. In all the restaurants the soup was wonderful. I think my daughter had it every day.Treetops provides pizza and pasta meals. All very filling and very good. Morgan Pier was superb, one of our favourite. We are there three times during our stay and could not fault it. The Bambau also on the beach front was a great place to watch sunset and get a sea breeze, they run with three different menus - all of them had a good selection both fish and meat. The watersports were running most days, although due to Hurricane Irma we could not got out on one day. The sailing was lovely and well worth doing. My daughter went water skiing as well.We ate one night at Le Jardin. Although there is an extra charge the meal was fantastic Great if you have a celebration or want a quiet romantic meal.We spent a lot of time in the adult pool at the swim up bar. Gregory and Garie are fantastic bar staff. They made wonderful cocktails and worked so hard keeping the drinks flowing. Not easy when you order 10 Bob Marleys!. They are a real credit to the hotel. The lady who does dinner reservations always had a smile on her face and was so welcoming in the morning. In fact all the staff were lovely. They were so kind and seemed happy the whole time. We could not find fault with any of them. All in all a wonderful holiday and if you are at the swim up bar please say to Garie or Gregory that "the Lovely Lady" says hello. (Try a Lovely Lady while you are at it)
My husband and I have just returned from a great 10 day holiday at St. James's Club but in many ways, I think that is because we tend to make the best of whatever situation we are put in. Check in was very smooth, welcomed with a refreshing towel and rum punch! The rooms and buildings are well spaced out, so it feels like you are not on top of each other which is great. In fact, we barely saw anyone within the grounds until we got to the communal areas. The rooms, however, are very very basic and a little dated. Jane who looked after our room did a great job and no complaints with bedding, towel and cleanliness but there are certain parts of the room that just need a good makeover. Chipped tiles, odd pictures etc. A/C worked brilliantly but there are no mosquito nets or coverings to the windows so we got bitten alive. The pool and bar area is really nice during the day, plenty of sun loungers for everyone and fresh pool towels every morning. Agree with fellow reviews, that the evening entertainment is also at the pool bar, with drinks served in plastic glasses and full of mosquitos, it seems to be where most people got bitten. Entertainment is lacklustre at best but isn't what my husband and I really look for in a holiday, but it didn't keep us down in the bar. All of the restaurants were great. We had lovely meals in each of the A La Carte restaurants and really really enjoyed our time at Le Jardin, which has a supplement of $35 a head. Staff can be a little curt, particularly at reception and the concierge. One of the tour guides on an excursion explained that this is just the St. Lucian way but it is a little disconcerting when you are not used to it. Would I go again? No. It actually showed me that I would rather pay for more lux accommodation in Europe with shorter travel time than having the additional expense of a trans-Atlantic flight.
