Beautiful location

Sugar beach is situated in the most beautiful location. Has an amazing view. You can literally swim at the base of the pitons. It's pristine. Place is very posh and a bit uptight. Quite expensive. The staff aren't too concerned with people who do not stay on property. Sushi bar is excellent

Very special location

Very special location, hotel is between 2 unesco protected pitons . Rooms are tastefully decorated, most have private pools , great view, concealed in the rainforest , kind and friendly staff. Food could be better , you would expect better quality menus for the prices.

A first class hotel with excellent food

We spent five night in The Sugar Beach hotel and it was an excellent experience, although most of the staff are cheerful but some were hard work to get a smile out of, the luxury beach front bungalow was amazing and in our opinion the only place to stay at the resort. If you forget something and you were up the hill , it's a Tuk Tuk up,the bumpy hill, and some villas were very far from the beach. The Spa area is stunning and a massage is a must. Food was excellent but be prepared to be stung with the drink prices, glass of rose £20.00 !!

Not perfect but when it wasn't, THEY more than made up for it. Sign of a great place

I don't review much because i don't typically have much to say b/c of my laid back nature. My fiance and I traveled here for a few nights after spending a few nights up north. We were celebrating our engagement. You can just tell that it is a different vibe here than any place up north. From the beginning, you would get pampered, BUT we had an issue during check in. We arrived a bit early around 215pm and check in was 3pm. We were told initially that we didn't have to wait too long and were offered a complimentary drink. we arrived the same time as another couple who complained quite vigorously about their room not being ready. My fiance and I decided to keep quiet. Normally, we just aren't complainers.. Let me prerequisite by saying, my fiance and I are a interracial couple, I'm an American born Asian and she is a darker complexion hispanic so she has dealt w/ being treated differently when it comes to places like this.. We are new yorkers so that type of involuntary discrimination isn't something that we are familiar with when it comes to living in New York, but once my fiance addressed it, I did notice some subtle instances that it may rear its ugly head. the white couple that complained received their room at 3pm.. we waited till 4pm and this is after my fiance and I started kicking up a storm.. the Manager, Phillippe spoke to us and listened. really all he can do.. that said, we still waited quite a bit for our room during checkin and felt a bit of INVOLUNTARY racial profiling.. and i say involuntary, b/c i don't think they even notice what is happening.... The issue was NO one ever gave us an update on our room until we complained and my fiance became emotional all whilst acknowledging and updating other guests. HONESTLY that was the only major issue we had w/ this place. for over an hour and a half waiting in the reception, NO one said anything to us or gave us an update.. just baffling and so out of character after the rest of the trip, the service was impeccable. this is why it may be a bit of Involuntarily racial profiling. I MAKE THIS VERY CLEAR, i don't think they even know what's going on.. HEY, it may just be that we are "crying wolf" and it just was a hiccup w/ the check in, but i don't tend to do that living in New York where you see all types of wealthy, snobby people. .. Once we got our room, the trip was sooo amazing.. the service was impeccable.. they more than made up for the check in fiasco by sending us a complimentary bottle of champagne.. Thank you, Phillipe.. the whole time at Sugar Beach was kind of surreal for us... You had anything or anyone at the tip of your finger tips and your request.. the car shuttle services, phone charger, anything you can think of, you can have.. sometimes, i felt guilty being pampered so much but i guess we've earned that right to get spoiled sometimes at such a beautiful place.. with that said, staying at Sugar Beach comes w/ treating like celebrities and being charged as such.. its a pricey place but if you can afford a room it shouldn't be an issue for all the luxury costs like the spa and zip lining tours.. BTW, we received couple restoration spa.. 220 each w/ the couples room (500 total w/ tip). IT WAS AMAZING.. i don't do spa much but my fiance does and it was the best she's ever done.. and we have the best in NYC, this is better.. you have to do it.. that said, i thought it was great price.. THe ziplining was a fun experience and it cost 100 per person w/ the cab service to and back to the resort.. we shared the ziplining tour w/ another couple that clearly weren't sugar beach guests.. we asked what they paid, they said 55 per person w/ no cab service.. so we pretty much paid 90 total for the cab(the ride was a total of 7 minutes to and from the location).. just something to think about.. we also had dinner at Jade Mountain Club.. when we told Sugar Beach about having dinner there, you can tell they were a bit perturbed about that reservation.. i thought they were upset b/c we were eating outside of the resort, but after the lengthy BUMPY BUMPY ride, i actually felt bad for our driver Super Dave who was amazing (about 30 min for a 1.7 mile ride).. i can see why its not an ideal reservation.. With that said, the best view/dinner i have ever had and i have had the best dinners in the world at Michelin star restaurants.. sick resort and sick views.. i would still take the sacrifice of taking a bumpy ride to go there.. Now back to sugar Beach, the private beach that's not accessible to the public is the best place about Sugar Beach.. we just didn't notice it till our next to last day.. it was quiet and secluded but had all the amenities of luxury at your beckon call.. i mean, it was just amazing.. i'll go back just to go on this private beach.. great job here, sugar beach.. unfortunately, we had this weird couple plop down right next to us and that ruined our privacy but what can we do.. it was still amazing. with all the issues in the beginning on check in, they have made up for it and then some.. i would recommend this place to anyone.. with that said, there are some issues that i'm just not sure how they will ever address.. there is a clear lack of diversity at this place that said, they more than make up for it w/ their genuine niceness/service (let's forget check in issues b/c they made up for it).. but what if my Fiance didn't get emotional, would we have the same service.. i believe we still would have but after that moment, everyone knew us through the next few days and treated us like we were part of the royal court...honestly, i would definitely go back.. i can see myself w/ my family there b/c it is a very family friendly place but doesn't annoy the coupled guests... we are buyers of Sugar Beach in my 24 hours since arriving home, i already recommended it to a couple of people...

Amazing and Wonderful Resort

I recently went to Sugar Beach with my husband and his family. It was so beautiful, the staff was excellent and the food was delicious. We stayed in the residences and our butler, Mosiah, was especially wonderful. He took such great care of us and made sure we knew of all the adventurous and also relaxing activities. The beauty of Sugar Beach is so much to take in, it's truly paradise and the island has more to offer than some of the other Caribbean islands we have been to. The only complaint was the mosquitoes, however, the resort does its best to manage this.
