The Landings St Lucia

The moment you reach the entry gates you know you have arrived at somewhere very special. Great service from check in to maintenance staff everyone smiles. The apartment 2 bed with harbour and bay view was spacious, spotless and very well equipped - as for room 732!Beach is in a different class, plenty of space to relax. Sail boats on hire too. We did not eat on site but menus looked good. A must visit venue.
We have just come back from a 10 day All inclusive family holiday in St Lucia celebrating my father's 60th birthday and The Landings was an excellent choice. We had 3 separate marina view suites between 8 of us, 2 of the suites having the added luxury of a plunge pool on the back patio which was great for early mornings or late in the evening. The suites (2 x 2 bed, 1 x 3 bed) were very spacious, all bedrooms had a en suite, had plenty of storage and were very clean and modern. Each suite had a fully equipped kitchen and separate utility area with washer and dryer facilities that all worked very well. They each also had a large lounge area so we could all gather in one suite in the evenings without feeling cramped. The hotel sits right on the beach front where the view is breathtaking- as you would imagine on the front cover of a travel brochure. The sea is warm and calm, perfect for my 5 year old The hotel offers non motorised sports for free such as kayaking and other motorised sports for a fee. We often played tennis too but had to book the courts in advance. The stand out reason why for all of us this holiday will be one to remember is the staff. Each and every team member went above and beyond to make our holiday perfect. Whether it was Kesha on the front desk who upgraded us to suites with plunge pools or Petra at the The Beach Club pouring our Tequila, they all had smiles and couldn't do enough. In particular, the staff that really made our trip so special were Elijah, the cocktail maker, George the super chef and Ophelia, the phenomenal waitress. Any cocktail we would request Elijah would go out of his way to get the ingredients. He hadn't heard of Pornstar Martinis (a fave amongst us Brits) but he googled how to make it and went to the market especially to buy some passion fruit. His Espresso Martinis are superb also. Both George, the chef at Callaloo and Ophelia, the head waitress there are a winning team. They went to extreme measures to personalise each meal for us, asking us what we'd like as our special for the following day, remembering what we like to drink, the food was the best out of the 3 restaurants and the service excellent. We can't thank them enough. The reason why have given this hotel a 4 star rather than a 5 star is because a few niggly things that were lacking that would be expected or that I have experienced in other 5 stars resorts. The suites:- the showers were not very powerful in any of the 7 showers we had between the 3 suites. - the temperature of the water was either too hot or too cold. Sometimes in the 3 bed suite 2 of the 3 showers would remain cold so would have to share. The Pools:There are 3 pools in the resort all of which are rather small. When I saw the largest pool I was convinced it was the smallest and the other 2 would have to be larger but the others away from the beach were very small. We were in St Lucia at one of their quietest periods (End of Oct/Early Nov) so sun loungers weren't much of a problem, I don't know how they would cope in the busier seasons as surrounding the pool there isn't much space at all. All Inclusive Service- the breakfast buffet was a bit of a disappointment, very small and not very inviting. Although a full English/American breakfast was available it didn't look very appetising and was very basic. There was an egg station where fried eggs and omelettes were made and buffet stands with bacon and sausages, occasionally mushrooms and beans but not always. It wasn't until we were 3/4 days into the holiday that we realised we could request other types of eggs such as poached, boiled etc. The fruit looked lifeless, not an abundance arranged in a beautiful display as would be expected. Croissants and cinnamon rolls were readily available but pancakes etc were not. I must say that if you requested anything the staff would go out of their way to try and get it for you such as smoothies, nuts, pancakes, honey or chocolate sauce but I think these should be on display or at least we should have been told about the availability of them rather than having to figure it out for ourselves. -There was no alcohol in the suites as part of the All Inclusive deal. If you decided to have a few drinks in your lounge in the evening you would have to order the drinks by the bar and take them to your room. You could ask for room service but for each round of drinks would be $10. You might ask, why don't you just get a couple of bottles of wine... well wine can only be served by the glass!!-In between meals there were no snacks, you would have to go to one of the restaurants (likely Callaloo) for a proper meal. -There were no bar snacks like nuts readily available, if you wanted something they would get a plate of plantain crisps from the kitchen (which were delicious) but again we had to continously ask for this. Service- Like I said the staff are amazing particularly the ones mentioned above but there is no consistency throughout the hotel. The service (not friendliness- as like I said early everyone was amazing individually) i.e. waiting times varied greatly, so much so that each restaurant could have been located in a different resort. At the Beach resort we sat down for lunch at 1pm and didn't get out until 3.40pm. We had to wait 30 mins for dessert which was just ice cream!!Restaurants- Callaloo where George the chef made varied delicious food everyday was great for lunchtimes but was only open Sunday and Monday evenings. -The Beach Club had very good food but the menu didn't change the whole time we were there. With just 2 restaurants really in the evening to choose from this did get a bit monotonous. -The Palms is what I would call a 'nice' restaurant, it is supposed to be fine dining but I wouldn't say the standard is any better than the other 2 restaurants, in fact George's food was much tastier. It seemed to lack atmosphere. I think the hotel would benefit from a pan Asian restaurant like a Teppanyaki or sushi place to mix things up. Spa-Whilst I was there I had a lovely spa treatment from a lady called Lena. The treatment was wonderful but for a 5 star hotel the spa definitely needs an update. Having said all the above we had a memorable time in St Lucia, and that was down to the Landings and it's great team. Would go back in a heart beat.
Probably one of the most beautiful resorts in Saint Lucia. I stayed there with my wife and our suite was absolutely amazing with great design and marble. This hotel in Europe could be rated like a Palace from a structure standpoint. Staff is nice and their beach is long and you can enjoy a beautiful sunset. We will be back!
We stayed here last July. I love this resort! They are really condos with all of the amenities of a resort. You can stay in and cook your own food, go to one of the restaurants or have the food brought in to you. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful in arranging excursions. They have all kinds of free non-motorized water activities as well as motorized for a fee. I would definitely recommend this for families. Our room had a beautiful view of the beach and ocean in the front and the marina in the back.
My husband and I just returned from 8 days in St Lucia at the Landings. The property is very well maintained and has a tropical feel everywhere you look. We had an ocean view 2 bedroom with 3 bathrooms. The front door looked toward the ocean and the back patio was surrounded with foliage and had a hot tub. Each place had chairs and tables to enjoy the view. We visited each of the restaurants and all had very good menu selection and the prices were reasonable and comparable to island pricing. The breakfast had great selections each morning from the omelet & pancake grill to potatoes, fish, plantains and other regional favorites. I fell in love with the 'Bakes'; it seems to be the island version of a biscuit. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful; I would swear they had a tracker on us since they knew our agenda for the week. The resort is very family friendly. Having said that if you're looking for a quiet resort, beach and restaurants, this is not the place to get away. Couples were the minority and families dominated the guest population. For this reason, we would not return.
