The Landings St Lucia

Great location, service and food. Rooms are apartment like and very well appointed in an American manner. Probably too large for couples but ideal for families. Rodney bay is beautiful and there are plenty of activities and dining locations.
After a 1.5 hours drive from the airport, as soon as we arrived at this resort, we knew we had made the right choice. Nicely greeted at the front, our luggage taken care of, our butler gave us a ride to our unit and walked us through all of the amenities. Our unit was a beachfront, nicely furnished and equipped with everything we could want during our stay. The location of this resort is excellent with big open views of the ocean. It was crowded during our stay but still having the private beach is great. There are 3 restaurants on site all with great service. Palms is the only one that requires a reservation....it is in the main building and does not have water view....the most expensive one with the least number of menu choices....so glad we tried it but didn't repeat. The other 2 restaurants are water front and were much better for us.Everyone working at the Landings is excellent. Our butlers, Peronilla and Antoniocious, were excellent and went above and beyond. Shernel at the front desk handled a number of our questions/requests with a great attitude. Ianna at the concierge desk was great with our requests as well. There were a number of great servers at the restaurant but we were taken care of by Jaclyn multiple times and each time she was very pleasant and gave us some advice on local mangoes.Only issue was that I had requested a unit on the top floor but was assigned on the ground floor which happened to be also on the end of the building with an open ground next to it. The end unit resulted in extra sounds from people on the open ground and early morning light from the side windows which aren't fully covered. So I woke up early each morning not something I wanted on vacation. When mentioned to the front desk they were willing to switch us (customer friendly!) to a different unit but with only 2 days remaining we decided against it.We will be back some day soon :)
Really enjoyed our stay here. We had a 2 bed marina villa. Hot tub on balcony. Full kitchen. Room serviced twice a day - very clean (even loaded/unloaded dishwasher). Beds super comfy and reinforced steel doors so secure. Our room very close to the family pool and beach. Staff keen to please on whole (a couple of surly staff). Beach lovely and patrolled by security guard. Never had any probs with jelly fish or the like. Non motorised sports great for using though they were a bit inconsistent to whether 4 (nearly 5 year old) could kayak with us. One day said yes, another no. But we saw equally smaller children going out. That was frustrating- luckily DD didn't complain too much. Callaloo was a great place for kids food and chef George looked after one of our kids and complied with her every whim. Loved the plantain crisps. Food ok on whole but could be more adventurous- especially in the palms restaurant (managed to get a babysitter Laura who kids took to straight away. Word of warning it wasn't made clear we had to pay babysitter direct and we didn't have enough cash. Babysitter very gracious but felt bad for her though got it a couple of days later). In palms had scallop which was perfectly cooked but couldn't taste the orange marinade. The lamb chops were superb. Dessert lovely but had better elsewhere. The hotel sent a special delivery for our 15th wedding anniversary which was lovely of them. I went to aqua aerobics and restorative yoga. Not sure why these are not attended more as free and good fun. I used the gym a couple of times but did a lot of snorkelling and swimming. Went on the pitons catamaran tour which was fun but a bit rushed. Also went to the tram ride which was good but ouch, very expensive. Kids loved the kids club and it had an inventive itinerary. Kids loved Kathy. Son said he wanted to come back to the landings before he was 12 so he could go to kids club. Kathy said she'd take him even if he was over 12😎. We had a flight delay on way back and shame, had to stay an extra night😎. Saw a hummingbird at the landings so keep your eye out for wildlife. Breakfast was good for kids, lots of carbs but the birds are a pain. The staff here were lovely on whole and made a fuss of the kids. They could do more at the welcome reception. Other welcome receptions I've been to usually give a general presentation of what there is on offer and the landings could do this better as people do go genuinely to find out what was on offer (but more canapés please😎). You can get taxis to local supermarket but do realise St Lucia is very expensive. Used the spa. Loved my facial and daughter got her hair cut here which was handy as never got chance to get it done at home. Overall a relaxing break and was pleased we got an extra night here. Bianca concierge is lovely and organised trips. Would have liked to do walk to pigeon island with mo but weather too hot for hiking for me. Overall like someone said would give 4.5 stars but really enjoyed it here. Just a bit expensive on the whole.
Excellent resort. We visited with parents and kids. The staff was very affable and were willing to the extra mile to please. Fantastic accommodations. Quiet and great beach away from the bustle. Loved our time here
Our stay at The Landings was our best Carribean trip yet! We celebrated our 30th year of marriage and our son's 16 birthday. Everything was wonderful. We met great folks there including the staff. We would return in an inztant. If you want details, contact me.
