My wife and I had an 8 day break in a beach front apartment in May. It's probably the most relaxing holiday we've ever had.The apartment it self was finished to a very high specification and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort is situated in an absolutely stunning location and from our balcony we could listen to to the eaves and watch the sailing boats come in and out of the bay.The restaurant near the beach served an excellent breakfast and the food was very good their in the evenings. There was a small restaurant on the beach itself where the food was also great and the staff there were amazingly friendly and good fun. The 'fine dining' restaurant didn't quite live up to expectations / price.Overall we both really enjoyed it and will certainly return.
Great Property. Not too big, not too small. People very friendly. Resort does not nickel and dime you like some. Very comfortable and modern rooms. Everything is very easy here. Close to Pigeon Island. Only negative is the distance from the airport, but that's more a function of difficulty in traveling the island.
My husband and I were staying at Sandals La Toc on our honeymoon. We were looking into doing a few excursions during our stay, which is how we met John Louis. We mentioned to him that we wanted a couples massage but the sandals spa pricing was very high. He then let us know his wife, Georgina, is the manager of the spa at The Landings hotel. He let us speak with her over the phone and her pricing was FAR more reasonable than sandals, and I must say the massage was phenomenal. Georgina even arranged for us to have champagne on a private balcony! The Landings is located right down the beach (about a 5 minute walk) from Sandals Grande. No matter which sandals location you stay, you can always get a shuttle to the grande and walk down the beach. It is far more accessible than I thought and it is so beautiful there. We cannot thank Georgina and John Louis enough! - Also, if you do choose any excursions, John Louis is your hook up! He does so many and we were happy with our experience.
The Landings was one of our best trips yet!Our room was amazing! We had a 3 bedroom suite. A king bed in one room, queen in the other and 2 twins in the 3rd. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom plus there was a 1/2 bath. We had a kitchen and our own plunge pool. This is the best room we have ever had on a family vacation...and we have taken many 5-star vacations. It was so nice that our children each had their own bedroom. The beach was gorgeous. The water was shallow and clear. My children (9 year old son and 10 year old daughter) loved it! The pools were small but beautiful. The food was tasty but not the best food I had ever had.The drinks were phenomenal. The pina coladas and Malibu Dreamers were the best things ever!!!! The service was fantastic. The resort was quiet and so pleasant. It was not like some all-inclusive were there a people talking on loud speakers and there are organized activities going on. We cannot wait to return!!!
This year my two girlfriends and I spent our annual Memorial Day vacation in St. Lucia at The Landings. It was truly one of the best vacations we've been on. The resort was absolutely beautiful. The grand entrance into the resort.... totally awesome! You know you've just entered paradise. We were greeted by the staff with such kindness and led to sit in comfortable chairs and served great rum punch by Shernou. Once check in was completed we were escorted to our villa which included a living room and dining room area, two bedrooms, three baths, a full kitchen, and two balconies. The back balcony looked over the marina and was a great place to enjoy a private meal or hang out at days end and relax with your beverage of choice. Shernou was so gracious and checked on us throughout the week to make sure we were taken care of. The staff at the front desk were very accommodating and assisted us in exchanging money, making restaurant reservations, and arranged our transfer to the airport. Our vacation package included the buffet breakfast, which included (but not limited to) different cold cereals, oatmeal, pastries, breads, pancakes, waffles, fruit, bacon, sausage, omelettes, and a variety of dishes native to the island. We had dinner at the same restaurant our first night and enjoyed delicious grilled shrimp and mahi-mahi. We also shared a ham/pineapple pizza at the bar one evening which was very tasty. The staff at the restaurant and bar greeted us on every occasion with a smile and tended to our every request with such grace. The resort provides non-motorized sports equipment for free and motorized equipment for a fee. We enjoyed a $20 waterskiing adventure and were all eventually successful in "getting up" with expert guidance from Vincent and Sheldon. The cost is different if you choose to take lessons. Embert, the official "man of the sea", took us on a ride on the Hobbiecot(sp?) over to Rodney Bay. It was a great way to get a feel of how close/far you are from other locations. On Sunday we enjoyed a trip to the village Soufriere to see the volcano and waterfall. These are two different locations with reasonable entrance fees. Because we got a late start and it was raining we chose to go to the waterfall. and what a great choice it was!!!! It's called the Diamond Botanical Gardens where there are mineral baths, a waterfall, and nature trails. It was one of the most beautiful places I've been to, (I'm a lover of tropical gardens). I highly recommend the 90 minute ride to this location. The ultimate part of our vacation was experiencing the daily delectables prepared by Chef George at the beachfront resort restaurant Calilou. You MUST treat your palette to the fabulous cuisine prepared with love by Chef George and his staff. You can order from the menu or just ask him to prepare one of his many delicious specials. You will not be disappointed, I promise. And let's not forget the lively spirits prepared by Elijah and Alston. Alcoholic or non-alcoholic, you will want more than you planned to drink. They also have their very own "specials" as well. All in all, the resort and it's fabulous staff is one that I will remember for a lifetime. I don't often want to revisit places because there are so many destinations to experience, but I will for sure be returning to The Landings in St. Lucia. It is unlike any other Caribbean island; the beauty and the people make St. Lucia one of a kind.
