The Landings St Lucia
- What's Included
- All Inclusive Features
My family stayed at The Landings for a week in March 2017, in a three bedroom, three and a half bath suite. I had very high expectations, and The Landings exceeded all of them. The suite was massive, and very well-appointed. The bathrooms are adorned in marble, the kitchen had new Meile appliances, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We had our own hot tub, which worked extremely well. The TVs are new, with over a hundred channels. The resort is laid out beautifully. Two new, lighted tennis courts saw plenty of action. The beech is clean, with soft sand and highly visible water for decent snorkeling. The pools on the resort were immaculate, with more than sufficient seating and a constant supply of new towels.Everyone at the resort was wonderful. Staff was extremely attentive. My wife and daughter spent hours at the spa, getting excellent massages and manicures. The cleaning staff kept the room immaculate. We were particularly fond of two of the restaurants -- the pool restaurant, where a delicious breakfast is served every day, along with lunch and dinner, and beach restaurant. These were some of the best meals we had on the island. The jerked mahi sandwich, fish and chips, pizza, roti, and just everything we had was absolutely spectacular. The bartenders made great drinks and everything was reasonably quick. My only complaint was The Palm -- the fancy restaurant at the resort. It was so far below the other two, more casual restaurants that it was a real head scratcher. All in all, this is one of the finest resorts we've every stayed at and look forward to our next visit. St. Lucia is a unique island with its lush mountains and rainforest, and being able to come home every night to The Landings made every day that more special.Highly recommend.
The Landings is a special place in St Lucia. We have just returned from a week stay where we really enjoyed the luxury. Our upgraded suite was heavenly, beautifully clean and well situated. The staff were wonderful too, We were on B&B but ate there twice at the Palms (first class) and once at the Beach Bar which also does a very comprehensive breakfast buffet. The only minor disappointment was that we thought a coffee shop in the main atrium would have been a winner
We had a wonderful week here. The apartment was finished to a very high standard, tastefully and expensively furnished and equipped. There was a full high-end kitchen in our apartment. Also a washer and drier which was great for wet gear. The water sports were included at the beach, we got a sailing lesson ( you pay for the lesson)and took out a Hobie Cat and kayaks. The place is really lovely and the staff are friendly and welcoming. There's wifi everywhere in the resort so you can stay connected if you insist!Breakfast is substantial and was included in our deal. We did not have an all inclusive deal, which was fine with us. Food and drink is expensive at the resort but we had fun at happy hour on Friday at the beach club. The rum punch is highly recommended! We had a couple of nice dinners in the resort restaurants, and apart from that, we shopped at the big supermarket in the village and did fine. Rodney Bay has a ton of well -reviewed restaurants. We did the horseback riding nearby, very enjoyable; also scuba diving at Dive St Lucia; and zip lining in the rainforest ( a bit expensive). If I had the week over again I might skip one of the day trips and hang out in the resort some more because it's so fantastic. Pigeon Island National park is next door but do yourself a favor and get a water taxi there as the short walk is not pleasant or safe because there's traffic. It's worth a visit for the views and the hike. The Landings is a cool and great place.
Our family of 4 stayed at The Landings for our spring vacation and it exceeded all of our expectations. We booked a Marina view suite and were placed in a room with a view of the Marina from our back balcony and the beach from our front balcony. It was the perfect location! The rooms were well appointed with high ceilings, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table that seats 8, 3 large bedrooms, and 3 1/2 bathrooms. The back balcony was very large with seating alcoves and glass doors leading from 2 of the bedrooms, as well as from the large living room.We were greeted with rum punch (sans rum for the kids) and made to feel immediately welcomed. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, always meeting our gaze with a smile and a greeting. The beach is phenomenal. We visited Rodney Bay beach and were so glad to return to our hotel beach further along the wide bay. Rodney Bay has many vendors trying to sell you something, which is not what we were looking for. The hotel was quieter with a roped off swimming area and great water sports. We took advantage of the hobie cats, kayaks, and paddle boards every day without a wait. The views of Pigeon Island were gorgeous, and we conquered both hills during our stay. The pool was perfect for us, as well. The main pool is a decent size, and the other pools are smaller, but great for a dip. If you book a room with a hot tub, you will not be disappointed, but there are also hot tubs at the pool. The restaurants were very good, with a different buffet at the beach restaurant each night. The fire dancing and limbo on Saturday night were very entertaining. We ate at The Palms restaurant twice and were not disappointed. (Save room for the chocolate salted caramel dessert!) Breakfast was phenomenal, with different offerings each day, along side the standard yogurt, toast, cereal, omelet, and fresh fruit stations. We were all pleased with the options. We spent one day touring the island by car (using a private touring company), which was worthwhile, but a long drive. Unfortunately, the drive to the Petons can be very long (>2 hrs), depending on the day and time, but still worthwhile. The rest of our trip was spent happily near the resort.
We were looking for a non-inclusive hotel with spacious rooms. The Landings offered breakfast, which was excellent because every day there had a little changes to the menu while still keeping the old favorite. We stayed for dinner almost every night. Those menus changed and they never disappointed. The service was phenomenal. If you did not see on the menu what you liked, they would actually make you what you asked for our of scratch. Every other evening they had local artists playing on by the dining room. The beach was small, clean and again looked after by an attentive staff. If you care to take a little hike there is an opportunity to go to the Pigeon Island Memorial. Its a walking distance to get there and depending on your tastes you can hike up to the two hills and have a wonderful, moderate hike, while enjoying history as well as stunning views. The walk to the park, and the hike took us about 2 hours easy walk/hike. Its about 5 miles distance. The rooms were out of this world, in my opinion. We stayed in building 9 and still had stunning views of the marine, the ocean and the mountains. Room service was wonderful. There is absolutely nothing to pick on or complain about.
