If you haven't stayed at the Windjammer yet, Please make it your next destination quickly! there is not enough that I can say that does this resort justice! An overnight stay in St. Lucia, turned into a wonderful experience that I must repeat. From the fabulousness of my room, the epicness of the views and the warmth and courteous hospitality of the staff, The Windjammer has all the makings of a paradise. Lenny and his Staff in Food services actually make it a point to remember the names of the guests. Lewis St. Croix & Staff from the Jammers Restaurant are simply wonderful.Gordon and Sherwin in water sports are two of the best souls I've met. They took care and consideration with an amateur daredevil like me. I've never had more fun. The best part? when my flight got delayed at the airport? They sent me lunch! If that isn't amazing I do not know what is! Good job guys...see you soon!

Great family time

Two weeks in Windjammer was a fantastic holiday for the family but it does come with some provisos. Our first impressions (all important) were not good. There was building work going on, and no-matter how much you're assured that it won't be a distraction, it was. The constant banging and general construction noise was annoying. It didn't ruin our time, but it definitely took the edge off it. The second issue was the generally tired villa. We couldn't work out if it was authentic or rusty, but the overall impression was that it needs attention (especially the showers). The longer we stayed, the better the holiday became. This was because there were fewer and fewer people there as it approached the September close so the facilities were less busy. The water-skiing gang are fantastic (as are all the water-sports people) and it really made the holiday. There are many people who return year after year, and who own time-shares or villa on the property. I can see why as by the end of the two weeks we were really falling for the place (having looked past the initial snags). The restaurants are fine, whilst not being stellar, and the service is also good without being exceptional. Many reviews mentioned Papa Dons although you have to choose well because it is supposed to be an Italian restaurant but the pizzas are dreadful (horrible thick, tough base). Regarding the service this is not Asia, if you're looking for that kind of deferential and efficient offering. This is the Caribbean and you just have to go with the flow. It's good for you too, to just relax a little and have another rum punch! The spar was fantastic. Great practitioners and the treatments were all delightful.Get out and see some of the island too. It's stunning, with beautiful waters, great people and wonderful weather. Very few hurricanes here! The helicopter back to the airport was a life-experience to remember too. We had a great time and will always remember it fondly. There are more luxurious places to stay on the island, but if you're looking for a great all-inclusive place to be, where everyone will be (mostly) satisfied you can do far worse than look here.

Service is lacking

Recently had lunch on several occasions at Jammers and Embers whilst on vacation in the area. Service was at times very slow and unfortunately some of the staff appeared totally disinterested in working at the resort. It seemed as though guests were an inconvenience and service without a smile was a frequent occurrence. We observed check out (friends had been staying at the resort) and the front desk was total chaos. Transfers to the airport had been double booked, errors on bills - not a great experience for guests. The personal, friendly touch has been lost at WJL (we've been owners for 12 years). Please bring back the caring/can do attitude of the staff and pride in working at the resort.

We jut got back from a great vacation here. We had the best Villa. It was all the way at the top of the mountain and it was the last unit. It had it's own infinity pool which we LOVED and used every day. That was a nice surprise. Everyone at the hotel was great especially Maureena from housekeeping, Sandy our waitress at PappaDons, Shannon on Endless Catamaran tour, Alex the bartender and Chancy our waiter on friday night at the Fish Fry. We spoke to the chef on several occasions and thanked him for all the great food we ate all week. All the shuttle drivers especially John with the big smile all day everyday were terrific. Would highly recommend this resort to everyone. You must do the all-inclusive because prices are a lil high on things and it is more cost efficient. The only two (2) things that bothered me about the resort was the #1 there are cats at all the restaurants and I am allergic and I didn't like them walking around and being fed by the wait staff also when checking out there were some fees on my bill that I questioned and was told that they are a donation to the government if I choose to make them. Well of course I said NO and would have rather been asked first before they were just automatically put on my bill. Other than that everything else was fantastic.

A warm and welcoming resort

We stayed in the penthouse villa overlooking the Caribbean. Plunge pool, large terrace, full kitchen. We were celebrating our 35th anniversary, and Windjammer is a welcoming spot. Food is great; new fitness center with classes and new equipment. Water aerobics, water sports. Spa is reasonably priced, but we did not try it on this visit. We never felt we had to leave the resort (our fifth time there) but for first-timers, get out and explore the beautiful island of St. Lucia with a rich culture and heritage. For literature lovers, make sure you read some works by the island's Nobel prize winning author, Derek Wolcott and you will be amazed at how it deepens your understanding of St. Lucia and of Caribbean culture.
