Great location, surrounded by lots of restaurants and bordering a beautiful beach. Easy to go Barhopping along the beach, do water sports or just relax in the sunshine. Good location for adults. Orient Beach is clothing optional, like the beaches in Europe. However, people here seem to be tourists and all are staying clothed! I would not hesitate to bring my family here.
This is a quaint hotel set in the perfect location on Orient Bay. Right across from the beach, out second floor balcony provided a nice view and wonderful ocean breeze. There is a small shopping area a couple hundred yards away and the most wonderful courtyard of restaurants for evening dining. We will be going back!
Lovely small-scale hotel, the location is fantastic as it is located very close to the beach, personnel is very helpful and friendly, the hotel is a bit run-down. Many restaurants nearby and a small grocery shop as well.
Just returned from our third stay at Alamanda. As usual, it was perfect. When we arrived, we were greeted like old friends - people clearly remembered us from past stays. The staff is wonderful, extremely helpful and friendly. Franklin and Laurent at the front desk went out of their way to accommodate our requests. We had a second floor (recommended) room overlooking the pool. It was large and spotless. This may be the cleanest hotel we've ever stayed in. The location is great, just steps from the beach and the Kakoa Beach Bar where Alamanda guests get free chairs and umbrellas. Good food there as well. The restaurants in the square are a three-minute walk away and the food is excellent. We particularly like La Table D'Antoine. Alamanda also has a concierge desk this year and Nadia (sp?) was extremely helpful in setting up activities including a terrific catamaran trip around the island aboard "Quality Time." This is a great new feature at the hotel. Reviewers sometimes complain that the rooms need updating but we disagree - it's a French island resort with a great deal of charm. Orient Bay is a safe, fun place to stay Alamanda makes it perfect.
This is a small resort and very cozy . As soon as you enter the resort you feel at home. The personnel is very friendly and welcoming.Laurent , the front desk guy, was like an old friend smiling and welcoming us.We got the room 203 (second floor; recommend second floors). The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable and king size.Everything was clean. TV screen is very small. The Internet is fine but sometimes intermittent connectivity.Breakfasts were good but simple bread, croissant and jelly. For cheese and eggs you must pay extra but not expensive like $7 per plate. Also the breakfast serving folks were very friendly.Breakfast is next to the pool. The beach is only 2 minutes from the hotel. There is this KAKAO beach bar where the chairs and umbrellas are free because of the resort. The beacjh s a dream place. Clean sand, water.. Most of the days the beach was not crowded but some morningsthe beach was full due to cruise ship folks coming for couple hours in the morning but disappearing around 1pm.The beach bar is also excellent. There are many restaurants within 2 minutes walking distance from the resort. The village center has at least 10 different restaurants Sushi, Pizza, italian, French, etc. Outstanding ood. There are also supermarkets in the village center. This place is perfect for 40 and up yrs old people.Very quiet and classy area. The families with young children may not feel right here. Now we know why people keep going back to this resort. It really feels like home.
