- What's Included
We loved this place! It is located in beautiful Baie Oriental, near KKo Beach. Our suite included a master suite, kitchenette, balcony and master bath on the first floor with an additional two beds and bath upstairs. Lots of space. The floors were all tiled, with wooden stairs. Our room looked out over the Bay. We arrived early, so hHousekeeping quickly and completely made up our room. We had premium toiletries and fresh flowers in our master bath. Our booking included continental breakfasts - this included fresh fruit, juice, coffee/tea, croissants and bread. Yummy! The hotel is located next to so many wonderful restaurants, that we had a hard time choosing. The hotel includes access to KKo beach, and it is picturesque. FYI: there is no elevator, so you will have to carry luggage upstairs if you are on the second floor. The only thing it did not seem to have was a laundry facility.
I went here with my son on a holiday get away. The rooms are mediocre at best. Expect to have issues with the Wifi. It is behind the times in that regard. The walls are paper thin and we heard every word of our neighbors' arguing with themselves. The free breakfast is minimal with a basket of croissants, juice and coffee. An omelet is extra. Once you get past the accommodations, the beach is spectacular! The hotel is located in the Orient Bay enclave which has shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. For a beach vacation it was a pleasant get away but definitely not a luxury trip.
We stayed at the Alamanda November 29 to December 8, 2016. We were greeted by Laurent. He helped us get settled in our room on the bottom floor-#111. Hotel is not new but everything worked, including WIFI. Rooms are clean and quaint. Maid service was excellent. Anything you needed- no problem. Breakfast was fresh fruit and croissants served with a smile by Eric. We sometimes ordered eggs etc and it was very good and reasonable. The location is 50 steps to the beach. Water was warm and it is not as windy as other beaches. We loved the beach bars and food. Make sure you go to Pedros for chicken and ribs. Pack a soft cooler so you can take your beer to the Kakao beach chairs as provided by Alamanda. Geraldine was very helpful with taxis, advice or tours. All the staff were friendly. They make the place special. We did not rent a car. You can rent one and they are cheap- go exploring. The hotel is located in the middle of Orient Beach close to the restaurants and shopping. In my opinion the best location on Orient Beach. Restaurants are very good but not cheap and are next door. Will stay here again.
Loved the cozy feeling of the resort , friendly staff through out , great continental breakfast and pleasant conversation with Eric & hotel guest . Rooms are cleanand facility very close to the beach which is really nicce with the reserved chairs for hotel guest . Nice quiet night life close to many excellent restaurants
While the location cannot be beat, the room itself was dank, dark and relatively unsatisfying. I booked the junior suite, which was spacious. However, despite reported upgrades the room was unclean. There were different hairs in the shower. The shower itself appeared to have mildew throughout the grout. The mini-fridge looked like it had seen better days, as it was dented and discolored. The bed was hard and the sheets felts sandy. While I was a hoping for a beach view, because of its location, I often left the shades closed as it was in the eyesight of every vacationer who chose to use the nearby path. Not much privacy! I was so displeased that the following morning, I approached other resorts, finding a much better option at a comparable price. The one shining star was the attentive staff who attempted to immediately address my concerns.
