We loved the views from our 2nd floor room on Little Bay Side. Great beach, snorkeling, pool, and eating choices. We walked into town in 10 minutes where more adventures await. Room air conditioner moisture dripped on floor because it put out such cold air when we wanted it.
We did an Interval International timeshare exchange and spent last week at Divi Little Bay. It was our first visit to St. Maarten and we liked the island and the resort. We were in a casita, which is older, but was updated (king bed room, shower and Jacuzzi tub, living room/dinning, stainless kitchen). We had two porches with table and two chairs on each. All rooms had an ocean view, but no beach view due to the hotel rooms below. It took some time to get used to viewing the ocean over the flat top hotel rooms. After seeing a cruise ship or two come and go, it was fine.We did not do all inclusive and only bought a carton of coffee creamer at the convenience store.Little Bay is a great calm beach and has some good snorkeling. The chairs and umbrellas are readily available. At Divi Little Bay, you are 30 minutes or less from anything on the island. I look forward to returning and Divi Little Bay would be fine for us.
I visited the Divi Little Bay Beach Resort for a 5-day/4-night stay. It's important to remember that the resort is not typically an all-inclusive, but geared more toward owners on the property. The food was nice, but I wish I had gone off the resort a little more. I was never hungry or without a drink. I also wasn't on a schedule, so that was lovely. The beach can't be beat. It was incredible. The water was warm and, on a nice day, you can see the island of Saba (someone joked that it "goes down and comes back up again.") The people of the resort were kind as well. Juliana stands out for her customer service and Mike was always nice at breakfast. I'd be slightly wary of the timeshare presentation and avoid it if you're not in the market. I found myself slightly wary to consider the option given that, as an all-inclusive guest, I felt slightly second-class. The best "sell" for me would have been world-class attention, but for the price, I can't complain.Divi is close to the small town of Philipsburg and located on Fort Amsterdam. Beyond that, the infinity pool is lovely and a gorgeous secret hideaway and the property is lovely. St. Maarten, for my first time, was a world-class experience. I wish I had stayed for 7 days/6 nights. It can't be beat.Tips: 1. Bring mosquito repellent. I was bitten often (but mosquitoes love me).2. Get off the resort. There is a LOT of activity on St. Maarten and you should see it.3. We took a day trip to Anguilla and it was BEAUTIFUL. I still can't believe I saw it with my own eyes.4. Tip generously. Service got progressively better as I tipped more. 5. Relax. We went to the spa and it was lovely. Great way to start a vacation.Divi was a great place with a great beach and lovely service.
