I had read the reviews but still decided to book it. Now I wish I hadn't. I asked for a shuttle to pick us up from the airport. They forgot to send it, I had to call and pay almost 2 euros per minute to get picked up. The room was actually pretty decent. It was quite big, the bed was comfortable, the shower was very good. It had 2 major problems though. No mosquito nets which meant we got bitten by a lot of mosquitos. Considering the Zika threat, a spray in the room is not enough to protect your guests. The second thing was the cockroaches. Lots of them and in different sizes. I killed two big ones and one small one. A friend from a different room killed another two so it wasn't just my room. It appears they have a bug problem and they don't care to fix it.The breakfast was surprisingly good. We also ate at lunch and in the evening and again the food was very good. Congrats to the kitchen staffWhat I actually liked was the grounds. Plenty of vegetation and very well maintained. Kudos for that
We reserved a room for a family of four in the hotel and we were very pleased. The room was overlooking the lagon, beautiful view and spacious balcony with lounger and nice table and chairs, place for drying towels etc. The room is much nicer than in the photos, very spacious, large bathroom with Italian shower downstairs, flatscreen, fridge. Upstairs a large double bed with a second bathroom overlooking the pool and second flatscreen. Very clean. The hotel has a lovely beach with loungers an hammocks. Pool very nice but cold! Nice restaurant but a bit expensive. Hotel staff very friendly. Beach just accross the road. Would definately go there again.
We spent 3 nights at this lovely hotel and would definitely stay again. The grounds are beautiful and there is quite a bit of sculptures and artwork on the property that makes it truly unique. The pool, restaurant and bar are fantastic and the staff are very friendly. We only had a few minor inconveniences but they would not prevent us from booking another stay. One, they do not provide wash cloths (easy enough to bring my own). Two, I advise bringing a hair dryer because the ones provided in the bathrooms do not work vey well. We knew ahead to bring electrical converters and did not have any issues there. Overall a great place to stay!
Coming to this hotel as a crew member on a regular basis since a few years, I have to say that this is one of my favorite place around the World. The location on the island is very nice, and peaceful, the hotel has been refurbished over the years, the rooms are very comfortable and nicely furnished, the beach in front of the hotel is beautiful and peaceful, the service has always been nice but I have to say that it has been improving with everyone being dedicated, warm and helpful ! The breakfast is very nice, and other food from the menu is nice and tasty. I have experienced the SPA on my last stay and was highly impressed by the nice attitude of the people, and one of the best massage I have received from an very experienced and professional masseur (ask for Cathy). This hotel is a little jewell, don't miss it.
I definitely can say with surety that I was not very impressed with this hotel as the previous reviews by others made it out to be. Breakfast buffet was "ok" but NOT worth $22/day. The best part of my stay was going to the spa for various services and the products offered. The lagoon was gorgeous and the ground were nicely kept. There were no elevators and we were placed on the top floor regardless to my father being an older gentleman walking with a cane. Not cool at all. Trips out of the room had to be planned in order to avoid constant returns for him up and down the stairs. Being that I am from St. Martin, I am biased to the French side, but I can't say I will stay at this establishment again next time I come home. The point of staying at a hotel was for to be spoiled and have minimal worries. The beds were uncomfortable and I was told they were of the highest quality....maybe they are, but not the ones in the room I stayed.
