Nestled between a calm saltwater lagoon and the beach, this stylish hotel offers excellent value for money in a great location on the French side. Most of the cheerfully-decorated rooms and suites have water views, and all are equipped with handy kitchenettes - great for families. Budget-conscious travellers of all ages enjoy the huge breakfast buffet, indoor/outdoor restaurant, and flagstone terrace that hosts nightly local entertainment.

What a nice place

We got an upgrade room :-)Ground floor, large, clean; unfortunately without outside space/trasant/shadow, The pool is pleasant also the umbrellas are a bit small for 2; the sun is though there.Restaurant is OK, not much people at evenings, menu is not extensive, but food was correct (do not expect local specialties though; for this, go to lolos).The garden is VERY nice, with statues and paintings, lovely, as well as hamacs and other intersting places to sit. We did not use the spa (not that attractive when the outside is hot), but it has one.

Nice Location- Awful Staff

Staying here on a business related trip. First time in St Martin; but not my first stay in the Carribbean.Hotel grounds are well kept; nice small beach area and huge bedrooms which is great.However, this hotel is let down hugely by its inattentive and demotivated staff, most of whom demonstrate a "can't be bothered attitude". Attention to detail is lacking everywhere... Hotel printer located in the lobby area was broken for 2 consecutive days; even though it had been reported to Reception Staff. Printing paper wasn't replaced in the printer itself; ink cartridges had run out completely and were not replaced for days.During breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, the staff seemed overwhelmed by the number of guests. Dirty plates left lying around, tables not made up for the queue of guests waiting to enter. I certainly do not expect to have to lay up my own table before I eat!Shabby restaurant environment with a very limited buffet style breakfast. I was astounded when my colleague was told he could only have 1 banana for breakfast! Since when did rationing come into effect in this part if the world!The staff in this hotel seem very demotivated. Yes, they do the minimum to get by, but I would not describe the hotel as being customer centric in any way; unless of course you are French in which case the story is very different. Smiles all round and nothing is too much trouble...I am glad I'm here for a work related visit rather than spending my hard earned money to come on a vacation.There are certainly nicer hotels on this island within the same price range; where the staff make you feel valued and special. Staff who take pride in what they do and above all staff who are well trained and engage with their customers in a friendly and professional manner, without the "huffing and puffing; eyes raised to the sky" attitude. I will not be returning to this hotel again. Much room for improvement.

What more can I add... we spent 7 nights in this place, everything was perfect as it is an Accor hotel, efficient staff, perfect breakfast (even if it stops at 10am...), quick room service, easy check in/out, friendly staff and nice location on a quiet part of the island. Rooms are huge, shower is perfect, balcony, sound proof, all you need for a perfect holiday stay. 5 stars.

Great stay all around

My wife and I stayed at the Mercure for a week and could not be happier. From check-in to check-out the entire staff was incredibly helpful, friendly and made us feel at home. The room was in perfect condition at check-in and cleaned to perfection daily (sorry about all the sand we brought in).The restaurants breakfast buffet is the hotel usual, but the dinner was amazing.Thanks for making our visit to St. Martin enjoyable!

Unexpected overnight stay in St. Martin

We were shuttled to Mercure when our flight was unexpectedly canceled (257 passengers). When we arrived at the hotel after 8 hrs in the airport (close to 5 sitting on the plane) we were impressed at how organized the check in process was. By the time we dropped our bags in the room and walked to the restaurant they had a fish dinner waiting for anyone who wanted it. The next morning the breakfast buffet was delicious with the owner himself serving right out of the oven croissants. The room was spacious and spotless and as others have mentioned the art work around the property was quite neat. Overall a great stay.
