What are surprised spa day for Andy, the massage therapist was amazing, welcoming, she made the day awesome from the message to the pedicure...He is so relax and refresh.Thank Irene for my refresh feeling on my birthday.
We've been to this hotel 5 or 6 times. We return because of the service, good food. Beautiful water and the planes of course. They constantly take care of us if we have any issues. In fact we are returning again this Sunday! Colin King is a true gentlemen and always takes care of us.Corey is one of the great ones that always make my 2 daughters feel special. The kids club is great. My girls always ask to go. It's not like we are forcing them. They actually ask to go!Veronica in the pub is a sweetheart. Always takes good care of us as well. Richard the bartender. Sheryl as well. Love her. Orajne is always mixing my wife special drinks lol. Can't wait to see you all next week!
This was our second time in this hotel. Again, travelling as a family, with kids having grown up since the last time. Two rooms were booked, and we were shaking with negative anticipation of having to go through the nightmare of switcharoos and fighting with the front desk. Talk about a great start of a vacation: everything was absolutely flawless, we got two connecting rooms as requested, ocean view and all. Not a single slip-up. Very positively impressed!Having gotten over the first shock of things being exactly as planned, we started noticing other details. The hotel had undergone a fix-up, which was already under way the last time we went there. The results are very clear. Honestly, other than that one elevator that was defective for a couple of days, everything was very near perfect. They also extended the pool area with a more comprehensive kiddy section - there's now slides, a big octopus, a submarine, all very neat. Tiles have been changed, everything refreshed. The former eye-sore now turned into Ocean Point helps a lot too.Food is as good as it was, and all of the former positives remain. This was a great vacation and the Sonesta Maho Beach team contributed to that vastly. The entire Sint Maarten is your resort, and this hotel is where you want to be between your hikes, beach trips, shopping, and all other forms of entertainment that will have planned for your time there.
We were a big group staying at Sonesta Maho Beach for 2 weeks in July. In our group of 17 people we had from baby's, teens to grandmas. After reading the bad reviews we were worried, but everything went smooth and we enjoyed every moment of it. The hotel it's located walking distance from the airport, there is a casino across the street, so are some shopping and nice ice team place. The rooms were spacious and ocean and pool view, clean every day. The food delicious and lots to choose from. The beach amazing with the planes flying smoothly in to you. What else do you need on a vacation.Oh yeas they need to do something for the entertaining at night because there isn't much to do most of the nights.During our trip we celebrated our anniversary, the staff went beyond to make us happy, bug thumbs up to Anna. You could see managers on the field all the time making sure you're satisfied. We loved so much and my family it's going again in February celebrating our daughters birthday. All of us can't wait.We rented a jeep from the hotel and went on sight seeing around the island, both sides. Beautiful fortress must see and also did the day tour in St Bart's, AMAZING! Expensive but worth every penny! See you soon Sonesta!!!!
Stayed at this property for 10 days with family. We were initially given a room that was quite dumpy. The bathroom was in a deplorable state - toilet leaked, ancient shower that trickled water and a view that was not a pleasant one. Fortunately for us, the bathroom ceiling started leaking and after a day of complaining we were moved to a new room with a pool-view. This room was newer, fancier bathroom and much larger than the previous one. I would have given the property 1 star if we had stayed put in the old room. Food - we ended up eating most of our meals at the buffet bar that had a decent spread and a gorgeous view with planes landing in the background. The specialty restaurants were a FAIL for us. Service was painfully slow - realllllllllly slow. After two attempts we chose to not visit them. 'All inclusive' in a place like St Maartin was kinda unnecessary because there are plenty of amazing choices outside, especially the French side. Pool was good and they have games and activities to keep you busy during the day.Evening entertainment was anything close to other all-inclusive resorts we have stayed at. If you are traveling to St Maartin, definitely reconsider the 'all-inclusive' option - not needed and you are doing yourself a disservice by not trying the amazing restaurants on the Island. Also, a must-do - rent a car. Lots of beautiful beaches in and around the island - drive around, explore and eat local food. Also - this hotel is walking distance from the airport. If you take a cab, it is 4$ per person.
