Eurohotel Diagonal Port Barcelona
- What's Included
In the pretty neat Poblenou area, but we cannot recommend this hotel. We did not ask for a change in hotels after we read the reviews on TA, before our 5 city trip, because it was close to the beach and I wanted to say I tasted Mediterranean seawater. This may have been my only chance ever. So, other than pretty nice beaches close by it has little going for it. It was a mistake not to heed to TA reviews and change hotels. The breakfast was good, hot options and pretty extensive for such a hotel. Just don’t like the European style scrambled eggs. Runny with chunks in it. I guess it is typical European, because we saw the same in Rome and Venice. The bacon was good and the wife like their potato & egg “pie”. The coffee/cappuccino/expresso station is better than average and customer service was average, but it does not make up for an awful room. Single beds pushed together, with hard edges. Could not be close to my Love when sleeping. The front desk should have noticed that we were a loving couple and needed a king/queen size bed. Maybe we should have asked after seeing the room, but we were in hurry to explore and did not realize until we were settled in that the beds was completely impractical to be converted to a double bed. We thought we could make it work, but that was the 2nd mistake. Also you had you rewash your feet before going to bed if you walked barefoot on the laminated floor. The room was nearly bare of decorations and totally unappealing. We did not use the Hop on hop off, but the Metro is not that far away and even late at night the neighborhood seemed and felt safe. A plus is that Poblenou has its own Rambla 3 blocks to the west of the hotel and family and pet friendly. Lots of night time activity, neat restaurants, etc. we had Vermouth at Vermut & Siffo. Dinner at Colom one night and Bar Trebol on another, both highly recommended but do not be in hurry. I am pretty sure at Trebol the cook does not even start until 8pm.
Eurohotel Diagonal Port was a correct choice on our last visit in Barcelona. Rooms are clean and neat, towels and bedsheets were changed everyday. Free wife, Beach view rooms, Breakfast is free. Taxi service is available infront of the hotel. Hotel have restaurant, and plenty of eataries nearby the hotel.
Rooms were clean, only stayed one night prior to cruise. Nice and quiet.Ate at restaurant further down the road Did have coffee in coffee bar by reception. Friendly staffMost of the people we met at hotel were also going on same ship and seemed happy with accommodation
I stayed at this hotel for four nights and truly regret not have chosen a different hotel. The room itself was equipped with worn down furniture. The overall cleanliness was far below average and the bathroom was simply disgusting. I didn't dare to eat at this hotel, so I can't comment on it's cuisine. Overall I definitely can't recommend this hotel, even though it's location is convenient. I surely will not stay at this hotel again should I revisit Barcelona.
Last minute deal which came to €800 for 4 nights.Sea view, nice and quiet.Businessy hotel. No double bed as asked for.The only night we wanted to use the hotel bar, it closed at 11! Decided to hit the mini bar in which there were three tins of lager! fail. We had to take a taxi back into townShampoos etc in the bathroom pretty poor
