My in-laws booked a week away as a group of us to celebrate a 50th and a 21st Birthday, also because Englands weather is terrible and we are leaving the E.U. so it makes sense to enjoy Europe while the count down takes place before a life of soggy crumpets and dry scones ensues. Anyway poor choices aside H-Top Molinos isn't one.The reason for the 3 star is more due to the condition of the building. It's a little aged, showing signs of wear and tear. It's 3* for a reason however in terms of 3* it's top of its class. The room was adequate, a good size, tidy with everything you need for a comfortable stay (a fridge would be useful but just remember 3*). Go outside around 09.30, the smell of eggs vapours up through the air-conditioning which is probably the biggest downside. Still cannot figure out where this is coming from? Breakfast anyone? The service was always good, friendly staff, hard working cleaners with a good atmosphere to the place. The pool is fun and there is always room to snag a sun lounger, they aren't the most comfortable but you're in the Costa Dorada who wants to sit by the pool when there's beaches, coves and Salou within walking distance. All of which are lovely albeit crowded but it's hot, explore and stay in the sea til midnight, it's certainly warm enough this time of year.Alternatively there are the hot tubs, if you can brave making eye contact with the other patrons while 'what happens under water stays under water' wade on in, or get there earlier and cold stare anyone else away from joining you.The all inclusive is good, drinks constantly on hand if you can manage two at a time - the beer is Estrella Damm not a bad local choice. The buffet was surprisingly good, there's pizza, sausages, hot dogs (so many hot dogs) and pasta for the kids with a range of options including meat, fish, pasta and always chips for the grown ups. Most of which are easily supplemented by Pizza and hot dogs. We tried a few new things, squid ink risotto, rabbit to name a few. There was always a theme each evening to the food and if all else failed there's salad or 'typical dish'. Breakfast was always good but get there in good time people are crazy for breakfast. Still, cereals, bacon and eggs, fresh made pancakes and fruit on offer is a good way to fill up before taking a walk to Salou. The breads are great and always fresh. An all inclusive holiday is not complete without entertainment. In a hotel that needs some updating and renovation it wouldn't be right if it was Cirque du Soleil in Vegas. Needless to say much of it was sing along fun. Don't let the three star put you off, Cap Salou is a great area and this hotel is ideally located, it's clean just a bit outdated but if you're going to avoid the rest of the world vote Leave or go 5* and sit by the pool for the duration of your stay. It's your choice make it a good one!
Just came home from here today after reading the reviews i was a bit worried about going but was quite happy with the accommodation. Yes it is in need of updating but after stopping in a few all inclusive 3 star hotels it was by far not the worst ive been to. There was plenty of choice for food and drinks. The hotel is a bit out of salou but its easy enough to get to by taxi and only costs around 8 euro. All in all myself and family enjoyed are time there .
A dated hotel that sits at the top of a hill on Cap Salou 25 min walk from la Pineda or 35 min walk to Salou Centre. The receptionist on check in was fantastic as were the majority of the team. Very helpful and friendly. Roberto and the activities team made the kids feel special and even the lifeguard managed to get some smiles around the pool. The room was clean and yes the room was dated but it is a 3* so take that into consideration. Air Con worked well. The food was acceptable although the last 2 nights we ate out in Salou. Its a 3* but I feel that the food options could have been better with the budget they had. The food that was there was always topped up and there is a small kids section. Buffet staff were super efficient. Drinks selection was local spirits and Estrella on draught. There is an option to get the real Mcoy spirits and fresh coffee if you pay an additional E12 a day. Pools were good and maintained. Bar Team on the whole were great just one that was a bit dismissive. I ignored him. So if your going there expecting a brand new hotel with all singing and dancing gourmet cuisine stop - pay another £400 and go there. If you are looking for a cheap and cheerful for you and the kids book it and enjoy. The one star miss was for not including water in the all-inclusive package. Im not asking for free bottled water but fitting a water filter to the mains supply and having it in the bar should be standard for any hotel.
Ignore all the bad reviews .The hotel is lovely ,yes a bit dated in the rooms but it is three star and you do have the added bonus of having air con.Why are you on hols to stay in your room anyway. The food is lovely and always something to eat.The drinks are typically all -inclusive but ok .The majority of the staff are really lovely but a couple are a bit moody but nothing to spoil your hols just ignore them .You will find that the people that complain are the ones that pay three star price but want five star service. The entertainment is okay too .The hotel is out of Salou at cap Salou about 20 mins out of the centre .We just got a mini bus for 6 of us for 11 euros .well worth it .Salou is really lovely .Very busy but not off putting ,just shows how popular Salou is.Plenty of room for the Russians ,yes they are ignorant but so are other nationalities .We had a fantasic holiday 4 adults and 2 kids .We would go back deffo ,enjoy your hols and ignore the bad reviews .
The beds were like something from a run down hostel . All inclusive was anything but . We noticed on more than one occasion the veg from two day's ago served up again for breakfast . When we enquired what the meat was before eating it none of the members of staff could tell us . The room's are below basic , depressing to say the least , we had work being carried out on room's on our floor day and night . The wall's are paper thin and the young girls in the next room playing loud music all hours of the night didn't help wit our sleeping . No kettles in your room to make tea or coffee . On arrival we had to report a missing panel from the wall in the bathroom . The desk staff were from for helpful or happy to help , just tutted sighed and told us they could not promise anything . Like most people here we work hard and safe hard to go on holiday , This was by far the hotel from hell , In the photos I have uploaded you can see broken glass bricks were anyone could get seriously injured .. The bed frames were my daughter hurt her toe and was left bruised . The plastic cup's a filthy unit is where you are supposed to get your tea , Very disappointed family
