What a horrendous place

Just don't bother, the only decent part is the reception desk. The rooms are small and not very well kept. The bathroom was small and dirty, I asked for it to be cleaned on arrival as it stunk. The bed was grotty, as was the linen. The wardrobe was falling apart. The balcony had broken tiles and to step out onto it you had to make your way over the giant step. All night you could hear the groan of the lift. The pool was uninviting with grotty sun loungers and broken tiles surrounding it.The food was horrendous - a buffet of random items, all looking less than appetising.I stupidly booked this place as part of a last-minute 'cheap and cheerful' package - worst decision I've ever made.I stayed here October 2014 - so for this to still be fresh in my mind, tells you all you need to know.It provided me with the worst holiday I have ever had.

Worst hotel.

Stayed here with my mam, stepdad and brother. Arrived here on the 24th of October. My cousin and her son also stayed here but arrived a day earlier. Worst hotel ever! Would not stay here again if I got paid. Entertainment staff: very rude! My brother went up to get a bingo ticket to be told to sit down by the entertainment staff. Was very disappointed. When it was the Spanish holidays we had lots of Spanish in this hotel and the entertainment Staff catered for the Spanish. There wasn't many English family's in the hotel at this time but we literally got pushed to one side.Bar staff: only positive about the hotel is the bar staff. Some are very friendly (1or 2 are moody). Loved to have a little chat with them on a daily basis. Restaurant: the lady who greeted you in the restaurant was lovely as was the lady at the bar. Food in restaurant: very poor. My brother lived on cheesy chips, and I lived on pasta. Not much choice. Again catered for the Spanish when they arrived. Reception staff: very rude, would not help in any way. Our suitcases got delayed and we asked if they could ring the delivery company and they said we would have to pay them to call. Everything was about money. Disgusting. All inclusive: food poor, drinks okay. We didn't leave until 5.30pm on the 31st travelling back home but our all inclusive finished at 12 noon. So this meant not being able to drink even fizzy drinks after noon. You can order packed lunch for trips. We were going to Barcelona on the Wednesday so ordered packed lunches. Long story short we didn't go till the Thursday so handed the packed lunches in as a courtesy (could of just binned them). And asked if we could have them the following day. We were told yes. Next day we asked for our packed lunches to be told the receptionist didn't understand is so didn't order us any! We were allowed water and fruit and when we went to pick it up we just got a load of attitude and disgust of the girl in the restaurant. Cleaning: done basic cleaning but didn't take empty cups or anything out of room. Resort: nothing much around unless you get bus. We walked around one night and everything was in darkness. Like a complete ghost town. Sandra, the out and about guide in the hotel was lovely. No fault on her. Wifi: could pay for wifi. It only 1 device per time. Tv: could pay a deposit for tv but I wouldn't bother as you just get calls and knocks on the door for having it too loud. My cousin stayed on the same level but along the corridor and she had so many complaint made about her. Really silly complaints. The walls are so paper thin you could here everything. In my opinion don't put an elderly couple or someone who wants to relax on the same floor or next to someone who has kids or family as the children are very excited about being on holiday and just no need to have a complaint being made about noise in room over excited children. All in all worst hotel ever, defo would not stay here again!!

Worst holiday

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in even the rats stayed away please stay away from this place you'll be sorely disappointed. I took a lad here who I support, he was very disappointed with his room and none of the staff wanted to help make the experience one bit enjoyable

Cheap and not so cheerful.

I stupidly booked this place as part of a last-minute 'cheap and cheerful' package for myself and my partner for a cheeky week away. Worst mistake! And worst holiday ever!!! I had read the reviews on tripadvisor, discounted them and thought "we're only using it as a base for our adventures, we've only got to sleep there - so it shouldn't be so bad". Believe me, it was that bad!If you seek the type of holiday where you want to go all-inclusive and not leave the small boundaries of the hotel to go adventure anywhere else, then this is the holiday for you. Otherwise, don't do it!!!The hotel Staff - the staff were fairly pleasant until you asked them too many questions (can only say this about two of the reception staff - one awful female russian woman in particular). I took my time to learn Spanish before I went, which some seemed to appreciate to be honest. Sandra, who had a part-time job and stall at the hotel as an 'information point' at the hotel was very good and informative. The actual hotel's cleanliness was ok at best, but our cleaner was fabulous. Not my standards, but as soon as our cleaner found out that my partner was unwell whilst we were there, she did her best to change towels and sheets etc everyday - she made a total difference. The noise is a serious issue here - we could hear our neighbours bathroom habits to a fine detail. People that couldn't care less about others were walking and singing up the corridors at 3am with their toddlers!!! If you come here - bring ear plugs! But, I suppose, not the hotels fault. We did venture down to the hotel bar one night, we were treated as second-class citizens as we were not 'all-inclusive' (actually, this was felt for the whole experience - not just the evening). The entertainment was always geared towards children (i.e kiddies discos) or bingo seemed feature heavily here. The pool and bar area opened at 10am - so lots of ques to be the first to get your sun longer, vodka and childs inflatable at the right spot!!!! So, lots of p*ssed adults by 5pm. We did see a few 'wasted' people fighting whilst here.If you're not a kiddie person - there is a roof-top terrace where there are various hot tubs, beautiful views and no children allowed! The rooms have safes - but you have to pay for them, we didnt do this and there was no issues with theft. Also, if you want to watch the TV you have to pay for it.We tried to do 'as the locals do' here, but it's virtually impossible as there is nothing - a few supermarkets - that's all!! We found one restaurant about 20mins walk from our hotel which was charming, but not even my poor attempt at pigeon-Spanish was sufficient - so we ordered random food (this was actually quite nice!) Otherwise, there is a set of English bars not far from the hotel. To be fair - these places were really friendly, the food was good and they tried their best. The BusPlana(local bus company) information man (wish I could remember this guys name) at the end of the street from the hotel was awesome - full of banter and the best local info......though, make him happy.......buy him some pet food for the local strays.Definitely, get yourself a bus-plana card so you can tour about. If we had the chance again - we'd be somewhere slightly more central where we could actually do things. Tarragona is utterly awesome - but don't go there on a Sunday as EVERYTHING is shut! Salou is just Blackpool on steriods (however, some of the backstreet, non-local places are amazing!! Cambrils is great if you like seafood (and can find the authentic non-british restaruants). It's a total shame as this hotel could be a total gold-mine if they upgraded it slightly.I would never stay back in this hotel again. I always check tripadvisor before booking and decided to give this place a chance, despite previous reviews. On hindsight - I should have booked us somewhere else. I also find it strange that a manager/other hotel staff never replies to comments on here (and takes them on-board)

Worse than I expected

My husband and I stayed here in October half term. I read the reviews before we booked so I knew about the noise issue but nothing could have prepared me for this hotel. You could literally here everything including the person next door on the loo. My husband and I woke up in the night several times a night because of the noise; he even woke up and checked the room because the noise was so loud he though someone had broken in.The child free rooftop hot-tub was an exciting prospect, in reality it was un-staffed and the hot-tub was full of kids and not the relaxing oasis that we expected. Location wise the hotel was OK you can get a bus to Salou, Cambrils and Tarragona. X TIP If you want to get the bus, a bus pass costs 3E for the plastic card (like an Oyster card) and the 12E for 10 journeys. This is a much cheaper way to get around. You buy the pass for the Busplana shop or Phil in the red box on the corner. You can also book excursions at the Busplana shop or with Phil, we went to Montserrat (monastery) and Barcelona see other reviews if your interested.
