Its a shame because the staff are very pleasant, the breakfast spread was excellent and it had a Spa, Gym and Pool. However the pool only opens at 9 and closes at 7 so I couldn't use it as I was at an EXPO which didn't finish till 7. The biggest flaw is that the rooms we were in on the 2nd floor had very poor sound proofing. I was kept awake the first night by the sound of the chap in the next room snoring. There are quite a few vagrants in the area too, so I wasn't entirely comfortable walking the streets later on in the evening. And three of our group were recommended a late night bar down on the Marina by one of he Hotel staff, and they were mugged when they came out. So don't take advice on late night drinking establishments from them either. I was expecting better from an H10 but this is a very average hotel, albeit very clean.
Until now we have always stayed in the city centre but time to try a change. Pleasant location handy for the Olympic Centre and the Marina. Comfortable hotel with friendly helpful staff. Easy to walk to sea front and local facilities.
We were staying here for total of three days while we were extending business travel to private travel. Reception and the workers there are good and helpful, but that doesn’t give you more than one two stars overall. The most important thing for me is the quality of hotel room and especially the bed. At H10 Marina the rooms are worn out and would need renovations to take them back to old glory. The bed was one of the worst hotel beds I have been ever sleeping but still the biggest issue with this hotel is the missing A/C from the rooms. Or actually there was heating functionality but no cooling according to the hotel staff. The hotel is located so that sun starts to shine straight to the hotel windows in the very early morning and warms up the rooms for sauna temperatures and the room stays very warm the whole day even when the ”AC-heating” is turned off. The only way to be able to sleep in the rooms is to keep tje big window open, but as the is hotel located next to park which seemed to be crowded the noise was preventing from sleeping. So major issue for me and I wouldn’t be able to recommend this hotel to any of my friends who wants to have good sleep.
Friends of ours were staying in the area so we needed a hotel near them in the Olympic Village Area. This hotel was nice, clean and had a nice roof deck. The rooms had a modern design and great working air conditioning. Very important in Barcelona in summer. It was located near a few restaurants and stores. The staff were professional, polite and helpful. We had a cava drink as a welcome and a drink voucher for the bar. It was easy to get a taxi from the hotel when we needed it. I would stay here again. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel.
I was upgraded to a Priority suite on the 10th floor for 50 euro per night. This was unexpected, but I decided to take it and see if it was worth the extra cost. It was a lovely large room, with a bottle of champagne waiting, and fruit, and a free minibar. Also there is a Priority lounge downstairs that is available to Priority customers with more free booze and food etc! The bedroom was lovely and quiet with a great view towards the sea, especially in the morning to watch the sun rising. All in all, I think the extra 50 euros is worth it if you are not on a tight budget.
