Stayed in Salou many times and this is the best hotel I've stayed in , the reason I'm only giving it 4 stars is I prefer when I go away to stay in a one bedroom apartment and find anything else a little cramped . The decor in this place is fantastic , the pool area is great to sit and have a couple of drinks in , it's located in Europa area of Salou about 15 min walk to beach and right next to all the bars and about 20 min walk to the theme park . All in all fantastic
We hadn't been to Salou before and stayed here on a friends recommendation, and boy did we enjoy ourselves!.The hotel itself is ideally placed imo away from the hustle of the beach area. Just outside the main bust area and only 10 mins from the beach. Sort of halfway between the beach and Port Aventura (If you've got kids you MUST go there. The water park is amazing)The Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. The lady on the front desk even helped me with our travel arranging when I explained we wanted to go to Barcelona for the day (you've GOT to go there and see the gothic cathedral). She advised me where the nearest train station (Port Aventura's own) was which was only a 30 min walk from the hotelThe room was basic BUT most importantly clean and functional with plenty storage and a safe for your valuables. The bathroom was good with a bath and shower. Note - the aircon was a life saver in 32+ degree heat. We kept it on low all night ... wonderful lol. As it was our 1st time here we stayed half-board and to be honest the food was fabulous i must say. It's a fresh hot/cold buffet and even the fussiest of eaters (my 10yr old Daughter for one) were catered for. The range was very good I thought. My Daughter loved the pancakes and especially chocolate fountain and my Wife loved the steaks. Me, I'm easy, I liked everything, especially a full English every morning :)The pool is great with loads of space for the sun loungers etc.Tip, make sure to get up early to reserve one if that's your thing. The pool activities during the day were great especially the 'splash dance'. Great fun!.Now onto the main reason we chose this hotel. The entertainment, especially for kids. This hotel really excels at this. My 9yr old Daughter absolutely loved the hotel entertainers ( two lovely young Spanish girls called Paula and Virginia ).They would even come looking for our Daughter and take her away for the daily activities that went during the day.The night time entertainment was also very good and the wonderful bar staff looked after us all night. We didn't even need to leave our seats for our drinks, we were waited on so well. They simply take your order and you pay them when they bring the drinks to your table. I got on really well with one of the young barman and he couldn't do enough for us. Juan Manuel (i think) was his name and he really is a credit to the hotel.A little side note, I was out walking to the shops to get an English newspaper on our last day and bumped into my new friend Manuel (the barman) and we said hello and I told him it was our last day. He looked sad and gave me a big hug ..... that little gesture really made my day. What a nice friendly young man he is and I would be proud to have him as a son.All in all the best holiday I think we've had. I can see why the Salauris Palace is rated Salou's no1 hotel. Our stay was so good in fact I'm busy looking to book up for this years summer holiday!!!!!!
Went in July with husband, 13 year old son and husband's sister and brother-in-law with their 15 year old and 12 year old. We all had a great time. I enjoyed it so much that I went back in September with my 22 year old daughter and my mum. They also loved it. Fantastic hotel. Great location. Friendly, helpful staff. Great variety of food in the restaurant. The Animacion Team did a great job of getting everyone involved in the activities on offer. The only thing missing in September was Paco from the Animacion Team, as he was great. Can't wait to go back next year.
Went for a week to Salou, with Jet 2 all good, lovely hotel, large rooms, food was very good for a buffet, and friendly staff, near to all the amenities. The weather was good apart from a few thunderstorms towards the end of the holiday.
The hotel messed up our room so we got upgraded to the suite which was fabulous . Loads of room! No English tv, food was lovely with a wide selection of good food. A chief there to cook your steak as you want it. Swimming pool big and nice. The evening entertainment wasn't that good and you just had the one bar, it felt like being in a village hall. The indoor pool / jacuzzi in the basement was fab, and quiet, I don't think people know it's there. Good location for the amusement park, beach and town. The reception staff where brilliant, very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed Salou.
