My wife and I returned to the same Hotel we had previously been at in Salou, The four star, H10 Salauris Palace. This was the second time in this hotel and twice before in a nearby hotel. Salou is one of my top destinations, along with Cyprus, Malta, Lanzarote and the Scottish Islands. We really enjoy visiting the Catalonian region and there is so much to see and do there, including visiting Barcalona. On our arrival at the Hotel, we were received pleasantly and efficiently. Although we had to wait before our room was ready, we were allocated a family room on the first floor. We were given free use of the fridge and safe.I have attached photographs of the room, bathroom, balcony and view from the balcony. It was very clean and more than sufficient for our requirements. It overlooked the poolside entertainment area and the acts went on until 11:00pm each evening. The wifi worked very well throughout the Hotel. We had breakfast and evening meals in the restaurant. The food was of a high standard for these meals with plenty of variety. We enjoyed cereal and fruit at breakfast time, though strangely there was no muesli, and in the evening fish, chicken and steak. There was plenty of vegetables on offer and we were fully satisfied with our meals. The restaurant staff were very efficient and polite to us during our stay.On this occasion we did not use the pool or the gym but we remember enjoying using them on our last visit. It is a short 10 – 15 minutes walk from the hotel to the shops and waterfront. A major part of our holiday is walking along the Ramblas and on our first full day we walked to the beautiful fishing village of Cambrils, approximately 5 miles from our Hotel and came back by bus. The bus service is very good and we used it to visit Tarragona and Reus. We bought a 10-journey ticket, which meant we had discounted travel plus the convenience of not needing to search for the fare.Tarragona has the bronze statue of the Human Pyramid, commemorating the enactment of building to a peak of people standing on the shoulders of those below, as well as the well-preserved Roman remains of the Amphitheatre, passageways and other buildings (see the attached photograph). I find these remains astounding! We also saw the Major Annual Fiesta in Reus (photograph attached), and walked along the procession. Again, this was excellent.I have no hesitation recommending this Hotel as well as Salou and Catalonia.
Arrived in Salou only 15 minutes transfer from airport which was great. Check in was great as our room was ready early although not everyone’s was. Our room well it was very basic and to be honest not very clean still hand prints on mirrors and floors were dirty as I said very basic. We paid our €14 at check in for our tourist tax and did get a bill another twice in our stay asking for it we did go and advise them this was paid when we checked in and that was that.Food well we got a bit sick of it however a lot of fish choices etc dining room was very busy at times but staff coped well.Entertainment never really started till 10pm for adults and 9pm for kids but wasn’t up to much. This hotel is a few minutes walk to Ferrari land or Port Aventura which is great and only a few minutes walk into town where beach is so greatly placed for everything.Heated swimming pool you need a swimming cap €2.50 which isn’t bad. There’s a Turkish Bath and Sauna which is excellent and use as many times as you like. Gym was good as well.Roof top jacuzzi is great and very quiet so great if you are adults on holiday.Would I go back no not really as the room was very disappointing we were in a 4 star last year and we were spoiled so I compared that to this one. Salou is very commercial now I’ve been 5 times now but this hotel is great if you are going for the parks.
we stayed at the salauris palace 8 oct for a week room 261 we had requested a high floor in a quite area so we got the middle of the second floor overlooking a busy main road and roundabout ! i have never been in a room so noisy you could hear everything in the rooms next door and the noise of motorbikes on the main road in the early hours of the morning was terrible the hotel needs to invest in better soundproofing the food was at best average and the meat dishes tasted very salty I expected a lot better from a top 4 star hotel The hotel also charges 4 euros a day to hire a cheap plastic kettle (daylight robbery ) The staff on the other hand were first class always smiling and working hard We looked forward to our holidays here but were sadly disappointed and will not return
Stayed here for two weeks (28/9 - 13/10) and had a fantastic times, all staff polite and helpful, rooms spotless and good size, bar prices very reasonable. Rooftop jacuzzi, and also gym, sauna and steam room that we made use of. Food was ok, lukewarm everyday and not much choice for British guests, most days had pasta with sauce because that was always available, burgers, hot dogs and steak served occasionally but lots of seafood, veal, rabbit etc that we weren’t too keen on, cooked breakfast options decent, but some mornings fruit was dry as if it had been left from previous day. Pool huge and plenty loungers, bar staff happy to bring drink and snacks right out to you. Entertainment ok, music quiz we did in first week was exact same one they did following week so we knew all the answers haha! Although we did appreciate that it’s out of season and entertainment probably much better at height of the summer. Hotel is ten min walk in either direction to beach and PortAventura theme park. Plenty shops and bars within walking distance. Theme park definitely the highlight of our trip, especially as it has been decorated for Halloween and plenty people dressed up in costume around to scare you! Spooky parade and fireworks at night was amazing. Worth a visit. Would deffo return to this hotel despite the food, loved it!
My family and I stayed here for a week the beginning of October. Great choice, hotel is spotless clean and rooms r very spacious with a good sized balcony. Beds and towels were changed 5 days out of 7. The staff in this hotel made our holiday. Special shout out to Miguel one of the waiters who my son loved to bits as Miguel spent lots of time fussing over him. Animation team also work very hard and r not pushy at all. Only downfall for us was the food. It was luke warm at the best. Breakfast was ok I suppose and the kids section was very poor so we ate out 3 nights at the roadhouse which is a steak house 5 mins walk away. PortAventura was the highlight of our holiday. Amazing place. We spent 3 days there. Overall we had an amazing holiday in Salou and will definitely return but might try the PortAventura hotel next time. I would return to the h10 Salauris palace but would b bed and breakfast 👍👍
