Terrible experience!!

Our friends came to see us in Sitges and stayed in this hotel. They just couldn't sleep nor stay in their room during the day because of the terrible noise they did in the swimming pool since very early in the morning until very very late at night. They said that it was like having a disco in their bedroom. We just can't believe that something like that could be possible and we are so disappointed for having suggest them to stay in this hotel.Definitely not recommended even if you plan a "party vacation". Too much!!

A high standard for a chain

Had top floor room 624 with good long view of town. The room was good and with high standard facilities. We stayed for 11 days half board which was fine only if limited in choice, which did not change. Breakfast was good.I had a massage which was very good if a little over priced. Would recommend. Hotel is 10 min walk from town.

Wont Stay Again

I have stayed here before and its a nice hotel with comfortable rooms but spoilt by the conference guestsThe hotel ropes off half of the pool area squashing regular guests into a small area leaving the rest for those attending conferences to mill about chat eat. Sitting on a sunbed in your swimwear with hordes of business people dressed for the office is most definitely not conducive to a relaxing time . There were so many of them one day that the noise was horrendous, the restaurant was packed (no where for other guests to eat lunch) and they were blocking the bar and associated areas making it very difficult to walk to the lifts or to navigate through the hotel. To top it off the hotel decided to treat the lawned area around the pool with some red pellets (I assume fertilizer) and not water them in.They stained clothes foot wear and skin -at first the hotel denied they had done anything so I suggested perhaps the pellets had fallen out of the sky but only on the grassed area which seemed to make them realise how denial wasn't perhaps the best policy in this case and later staff could be seen telling parents not to let children play on the grass. This was potentially dangerous and totally irresponsible. No offer was made to compensate myself or my partner for the stained footwear or clothes which I showed the staff. The charge for use of the hotel gym is 9 Euros a day per person not per room -this is expensive and bizarre. Finally on check out was charged for something from the mini bar which we hadn't consumed-I pointed this out to the reception staff but it wasn't deducted from our bill-by this point though I was beyond caring. We paid for our stay on arrival -I get the feeling that once they have your money they stop caring.I think this will be the last time I stay at the Melia Sitges which is a shame because it has the potential to be so much better.

Great stay a Melia Sitges

Very good hotel, basically a business hotel but good for holiday break. Hotel is in excellent condition, spotlessly clean, staff are first class, friendly and helpful. The Saffron bar/ restaurant provided good food, if a a little pricy, Breakfast was good, a large selection of cereals, juices, fruit, cold meats, cheese, and a hot selection, got to say I found some of hot dishes a little strange ( a stew type dish, and various other meat dishes) but this could be to suit the largely Spannish business clientele using hotel. Recommend having the cook do you an omelette various fillings, found the other egg dishes e.g. Scrambled or fried egg to be a little cold at times, but overall a very good breakfast. The sea views over the Marina and towards the town are excellent, and it is a five minute minute walk down to the marina, where there are numerous restaurants, the town is about a fifteen minute walk where you can find shops, restaurants, cafes, museums, art galleries, and nearest beach ( with beach cafe) is about five minutes away, although I preferred the hotel pool. The room was well equiped and large, with great views, would not hesitate to stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone visiting Sitges

Highly recommended on all levels other than two points;- the walk from the main bars back to the hotel does get a little tiresome (taxi is around €10)- the noise from the train line can be a little loud (make sure you ask for a room at the seaward end of the hotel)
